  • About 3 years ago I bought the cheapest supercharged Range Rover in the country for my wife. It has been her daily for those 3 years and she absolutely loves it. I have started to realize that I need a big 4x4 in the winter also so we need another Range Rover. I found this beautiful 1996 Range Rover P38. Driving it home for 6 hours went well however once home it started acting up right away. A week later let's go through everything wrong with my Range Rover P38 and future plans!

Really excited for this project like I said in other coments! I think you try a p38 with well functioning air suspension it does really transforms how it rides and handles but I understand why you want yo keep the coils. I've also mentioned in another coment it sounded to me like brake pump was running longer than it should and you did have the TC light staying longer than usual so I'd suggest checking the brake accumulator

W kwietniu biezacego roku , kupiłem swojego RR P38 4.6 Thor .
Pozdrawiam z Polski i życzę dużo cierpliwości do RR P38 😊

As I mentioned before the front drive shafts need to be watched, as the double Cardon joints don't last very well, and the window control modules suffer from cold solder joints but are easily repaired.

Do people commonly steal fuel from the tanks in Sweden? My Volvo 240 does not have a locking fuel door, but we do not have much of an issue with fuel theft here.

I really love the colour it looks very unique, personally I would fit the later front and rear lights and wing indicators to complement the colour and some side steps. The grill just needs a spray of satin black to smart it up, the greying is a big problem on them.

Think it was the best Range Rover ever but I would put it back to air suspension so when you came to a holt it would lower auto and when off roading could be raised over humps.

I have the same wheels. They are the best wheels i think, and especially when matched to Willow Green, which beats the face off all other P38 colours.
You need to get some center caps for those wheels bud.
With tyres, If you go above 30-ish inches tall, you are going to run into issues turning full lock, you wont be able to without scrubbing the mudflaps and wheel arch liner. There are tons of tyres between 29 and 30 inches.
If you buy.a nanocom it will give you a live temperature readout.

Yes…… the P38 Range Rover!!!! In 1998 I purchased a 1996 HSE 4,6 litre Beluga Black vehicle….if had 28,000 kilometres on the clock!!!! I paid NZ$90,000.00 for it….. the first owner in 1996 paid NZ$165,000.00 for the car!!!! I still have the P38….. but alas everything on it broke!!!! Air 15:16 suspension twice…… the O rings become brittle after 18,000 kilometres…. hence destroying the system!!!! My lock on the fuel decided to stop working!!! The headlining collapsed like yours!!! Water pump shat itself!!! Cruise control died!!!! Sunroof fell out!!! Air con died!!! And every time you started the vehicle it was like Christmas!!!! Bloody lights and bell rings and flashing all the time!!!!
Basically the P38 was a bridge to far for Land Rover!!!!
A brilliant idea but alas the build was very compromised!!!! And when BMW bought the business they shat bricks sideways!!!!
I would like to restore the P38….. but I have a 1972 suffix A two door Range Rover to do first!!!
My daily drive is a 1990 3.9 litre 4 door Range Rover…. I have owned it from NEW!!!! 280,000 kilometres on the clock!!! An excellent car!!!
I look forward to seeing your next video on how to luv a P38!!!!
    Regards Ian 👨‍🎤🇳🇿🏉👍 15:16
