Kalahari Tented Camp Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park Glamping Review

The Kalahari Tented Camp in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park in the far north of South Africa is an incredibly special place. It's located close to the Namibian border, in the western part of this vast wilderness, one of the last true wilderness areas in South Africa.
The camp is unfenced, which means that the wildlife, including big predators like lions, cheetah, hyena and leopards are free to wander through the camp. And they do as well.
It's not luxury, but it's very comfortable, I guess it's what you would call glamping. And it's an awesomely spectacular part of the world in which to do it.

Was this in March 2021? We were there when the lioness moved the cubs, but missed the action. So happy to see it on this video. Thank you.

Hi Loretta, yes it would have been in March. It was very cool to see, I just happened to look out of the back window of the tent and see her moving the cub, and also the big male that was lurking around.

Can u get to the camp with a standard car/suv as opposed to any special 4x4 ?

Hi Alan, definitely no problem in a SUV, you don't need 4x4. There are different opinions regarding a sedan car, I've seen them often, and the main routes between Twee Rivieren and Mata Mata or Nossob you should be ok as long as you deflate tyres and don't stop in the sandy spots (that is unless there are heavy rains, when the road can get flooded). But it would be better to have a high ground clearance vehicle or SUV in my opinion. I hope this helps.
