Very,Very,Nice,I met Jani years ago and The talent is amazing in this family .I never have said anything bad about Jani He is Awesome . Keep the songs a coming ......Peace
Talent certainly runs in this family, such a heartwarming video. Though we have never met, please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers always. It is the least I can give back to you all for what Jani and his music has given me throughout my life. ROCK ON!
Jani was an IMMENSELY TALENTED singer/songwriter who sadly, was called to "HEAVEN" far too soon! His millions of fans worldwide will always remember him & we thank him for making the world a MUCH BETTER "jukebox" to listen to. My teenage years would NOT have been the same, were it not for the AWESOME music from Jani & Warrant!! So many good times and memories, that I'll carry with me for all of my days!!! R.I.P. Jani. You are remembered and you are missed.
I don't know how I missed this comment from so long ago, other than the fact that I'm truly not online much. Thank you so much for remembering Jani, his music and his larger than life entertainment/songwriting talent.
i saw Jani in sacrameto in the late 80s. again in denver in early 90s. he was under appreciated. tell his children there are tons of us that fought through our own issues with the help of his music. they should know.
It's so sad to see our musicians who have provided so much enjoyment over the years pass on!! And Jani was no exception! He may be gone but he will never be forgotten!! I to this day I put Warrant into my cd player roll down my windows and absolutely crank it up!!!!! And I`m 52!! So Jani, I will never get the chance to hear you live again! But I will be cranking you up till I join you!! That`s a promise!! Victoria nothing is harder than losing a loved one!! Thank you for doing this it`s very special!! God bless you all!!
You're most welcome Victoria. I`m afraid it will always be hard when we lose someone dear to us tragically. They say " time heals all wounds". But from my perspective enduring a tragic family loss, it only gets a little easier it never heals! If you have to search for a silver lining in this loss? It is the fact Jani 's voice, his showmanship, his ability to write music/lyrics will forever be immortalized. And that`s for us fans, yet alone all the memories you as well as other family members will carry inside. That`s a strong legacy to leave. But man o man I`d give anything to hear his voice just one more time!!!!
Thank you for this comment. I've tried so very hard to sit through each of his songs and found I just couldn't do it without being a total mess. This Christmas Season has been the first that I turned my Direct TV to the "Hair Guitar" channel and literally stopped dead in my tracks while I listened to one song after another that Jani had written and performed with Warrant. I miss him so very much!!!
todd wood YES! I still do too I’m 47 and warrant was MY band I loved them & loved Jani’s solo Stuff even more he was so bluesy & raw & soulful It makes my heart ache I never got to see him play live I remember seeing him do an interview about his solo stuff& was so excited hoping he’d tour by my area
Victoria Ley I’m so sorry for your loss ❤️ Jani was a very special person & as his fan I miss him tremendously My heart goes out to you and your family
Really does leave a huge gap or void for sure. "Heaven" has always been and still is one of my favs. Just really rips your heart out to lose such a good artist. I grew up during their prime and so many of my fondest memories I still have thx to Jani Lane and his music.
Very nice job! Sounds very good. I too grew up listening to Jani Lane and must say it is sad to see him go. However, he still lives on through his wonderful music.
I live in Ashville Nc, I saw Jani Lane there in the early 90s, because of him it inspired me to sing and play guitar. I moved to Nashville soon after and gave it my all. But as so many folks I did not make the cut but had a hell of a good time :) I know you miss him more then any of us evey could.. Godbless just wanted to share what he did for me.....
I'm so blessed to run across this looking for Jani Lane interviews, this popped up! Bless your hearts Janis brother and daughter, I miss JANI, I'm a huge fan, Jani's gone, but not forgotten, THATS FOR SURE!!!❤️
I AM so sad. Truly sad... As a fan, Jani's voice and songs will always be with me, wherever I go. Sure I will miss him, as sure as I will, forever, be listening to his songs, thank you Jani, dear Jani, you gave us the greatest of all gifts: you gave us emotions, feelings and lots of the best songs I will ever have the pleasure to hear. Thanks for sharing your talent with all of us. Rest in peace Jani...
Unfortunately, I never got a chance to see Jani Lane live in concert. I was deep in the Heavy Metal/hair band/glam rock era. Such a great man of musical talent. He is sorely missed. Madison, you are very sweet. Love this video. I wish you and your family a Blessed future. God Bless you. Eric is very talented too. Great job guys.
Your brother touched a lot of hearts. We thank you for sharing him with the world. We are all truly blessed for having his music. He was loved and will never be forgotten.
So sad, I don't think Jani realized how many lives he truely touched. I was a big fan of Warrent and Jani. May he R.I.P. and look out for his family and friends. Thank you for posting this video, it was awesome.
Hello Madison Lane (Maddie), I am writing this from Bangalore in India . I've listened to your dad's music for over 30 or 35 years. I heard your fantastic version of ' Heaven ' . And I just saw this news article saying you've just done 'Stronger now' as well. So happy ,really. Thank you Madison for keeping your dad's music alive ! Thank you very much !
Very sorry to hear about your loss. I (as Millions of fans around the Globe) mourn with you. I pray you find the strength to Mourn for a moment and cherish the Great legacy your father/Brother created.
Your brother is not was an amazing soul with a voice that just goes to your toes. Always thinking of all of you. Thank you for sharing all of his gifts and blessings with us.
No, they're not. Jani never spoke ill of them while he was alive and no longer with them. As a Sister, I can, but I'll take Jani's lead and just say the respect for them left a long time ago.
Daddy's eyes xo Thankyou Brother for teaching her the roots of Music.... that's all she'll need together with your love. Thankyou for this vid...love from the Sunshine Coast of Australia.... much Love from Steve W
Thank you for the comment. Her Dad, Jani, was busy and out on the road a lotso she had my older Brother (& thankfully Aunts) to make sure she knew music ran in our blood. It doesn't replace anyone but it helps
As one who has struggled w/ addiction for over a decade 1/2 I have hated myself & actions time & time again. The mark of true genius & talent is a soul filled internal pain. Jani could not have written so many of his songs without having lived them and they have always touched me so personally. I wish I had had the privaledge of meeting & knowing the man behind lyrics. His music will always be a part of who I am. My deepest sympathies to his daughter & all his family. May time be your friend...
What a beautiful video! How lucky we all would be if we all left such a legacy of love as Jani did. My thoughts and prayers to his family. He is sorely missed.
So very sweet... as a mother myself I know the joy of this video. "Jani" is a very lucky man to have such a sweet family. Madison favors Jani a lot. I hope that Jani is doing well now and that he continues to write and play if possible.
So sorry for your loss.I remember seeing Jani before Warrant even hit it big opening for Paul Stanley at the Channel in Boston. I knew they were going places. Saw the tribute concert online last night from LA,Jani would have been proud!!!
Yes, I understand what you are saying...I believe that his music lives on because we remember him while watching the concert...People were sooo happy last night...even though he was not there, the band was playing this great music 'through him', and because of him...it was a beautiful thing! My name is Kace...I am a musician/teacher/singer it's nice to meet you:)
It's nice to see such a personal glimpse into the musicianship that is clearly present in the Oswald/Lane family. I want to personally thank Eric for grooming his little brother into the musician Jani became. He touched so many more people than he could ever imagine, my older brother and myself included. I was very sad to hear about Jani's passing. God bless you all!
The world is still dark from the day that I heard that he passed. He was such a great guy we shared many laughs we Shot full plenty of times together. I can still remember when I heard the news where I was. The world has lost a genuine great person, a great songwriter a great singer but most of all that guy could light up a room with a smile. Fly high my brother till we meet
I just want to say that his daughter is beautiful I loved Jani he was one of a kind and a wonderful musician!!!! I loved Warrant they were one of my first concerts and i loved every min of it! Thank you Jani for bringing so much joy to the world i am sorry that we all let you down in the end RIP JANI!! you will be missed!!
Jani's music will always be played in my house as long as I shall live. He was an amazing talent gone too soon. May god bless you from RIo de Janeiro, Brasil

Bigtime Warrant fan...I hope you got to see that Metal Show...the hosts seemed to really appreciate Jani being there and the audience loved him. I am a bigtime fan of his songs and I am so sorry for his loss but his fans will never ever forget him...he had millions all over the world who loved him.
I came across this video looking for music by Jani. This is awesome. Jani and listening to him performing his music will be missed forever. Jani was a tremendous talent. We will miss him forever!! ✝️🙏🙏✝️💕💕
@auntnooney I just wanted to let you know of the huge amount of respect I have for your brother Jani and your family. Jani's music is literally the soundtrack to my life and I have always related to almost every song he has written. I live in San Diego and have had the pleasure of meeting Jani many times. He was gracious, funny and kind EVERY time. I have 2 young sons 7 and 4 years old and they know and love his music to this day. My goal with them is to show what an amazing songwriter Jani was and how real his work is. Please don't listen to these idiots on here who are just jealous of the enormous talent of Jani's, just know there are thousands and thousands of Jani's fans who will love him forever. God bless you and the family.
I agree and feel the same way about Jani’s music Here I am in 2020 I just found this video while searching for Jani’s music He was so talented & soulful, I still can’t believe he’s gone 💔 He is missed so much Thank you for sharing this wonderful video & awesome song
wow. I never heard of warrant or jani lane, but seeing this video is such a return to earth of human civilization. my thoughts and prayers go out to the whole family. what a sentimental video. peace to all -
I thank Jani Lane for showing me REAL Talentin songwriting and singing when i was just a metal head listening to all the screamers out there...in Him i found Blues, passion,a Lot to say and interesting lyrics to listen to,not only baby baby etc...it was really sad to know he passed away...but i'm sure he's kicking ass in heaven...ps:and thax to you for the intro in Uncle Tom's cabin(i have been listening to the whole song1000000 times and still doing it today28/02/2013) Ciao!
So great to see the music carries on! Friends/fans miss him today, as if were yesterday, but seeing his lil girl enjoying herself is the best! Rest well...
Jani was truly one of the greatestvoices of rock music i have ever heard in my life.....perfection.....the music wold is a darker place without him and his writing....one of the greats..r.i.p. Jani Lane.......
Maddi you have a great family, I hope you always remember that. My boy is 16 and not much into 80s music but I caught him playing I saw red on guitar. Literally brought tears to my eyes
Didn't know where to post this, but wanted to wish the best singer, song writer, frontman, Jani Lane, Happy 55th Birthday. You're always in the hearts of your family, friends, and fans.
Jani is still my favorite 80s singer. His voice is powerful, he's talented. His songs actually have meaning behind them. He inspires a lot of generations. His music helped me 2 years ago when people were being really mean and I felt low about myself. Stronger Now and Sometimes She Cries helped me. He is with us musically and spiritually. I know one thing I miss Jani. If I would have met Jani I'd cry happy tears. Starstruck by him. I'm about to be 19 in March. I'm glad for his music. He will always be remembered and always be loved and never forgotten. He's so legendary. He was born to make music. He had so much talent in his finger more than a lot of singers. He seems to have been sweet. I listen to his music every day. I can't live without his songs. Impossible for me.
He was a rare talent with true star quality. I have a theory about Jani I'm not sure if anyone else agrees or not. In my opinion he was simply WAY too good for Warrant. No disrespect, but those guys in reality were cookie cutter musicians who were little more than session players. Jani never had somebody like a Slash, Angus Young, Eddie Van Halen, Jeff Beck or even a Mick Ronson to bring a unique element to the sound. Jani could outwrite almost anyone from that era but never really had great musicians around him to develop a more distinctive musical style. The songs were fantastic but the production wasn't as innovative as it could have been. The super bands of that era were all truly group efforts whereas Warrant was basically a one man show. There were literally thousands of other guys they could have pulled in off the street to produce that same guitar work but unfortunately Jani was kind of stuck with them. Axl Rose wouldn't have amounted to much of anything without Slash, Duff and Izzy producing the GnR sound. Same goes for Motley Crue, Deff Leppard or AC/DC. Even David Bowie admitted it wasn't until he found Mick Ronson that all those great early songs he had started to take shape as something special. Jani was a gifted songwriter with rare ability both as a vocalist and charismatic front man. It's a shame he never had his own "Jeff Beck" (as Bowie once put it) to catapult him to that next level of stardom. There's no telling how his career might have ended up.
You have more insight than most. Yes, you are so right. frustration, contracts everything leads to roads not easily conquered or handled properly. Thank you for acknowledging this.
Poor, sweet, beautiful, little girl, I'm so sorry for your loss. Be strong and use your talent to the fullest, but be careful of the things that can ruin and even shorten your life. Don't forget how awesome your dad was and how much people loved him...and do things a little differently so that your fans never have to cry over you because you were too young to die.
Thanks for posting. My thoughts are prayers are with Jani's family. His little girls are so beautiful and growing up so fast. They've both been in my thoughts since hearing the terrible news of his passing. I can't imagine how hard this is for them and how hard it's going to be a year from now and so on. I'll think of them everytime I think of Jani...which will be often. I'll love and miss him forever. XOXO
Everyone may rip Jani but i don't, i will always know and feel him within my heart when i hear him through his music. many memories of his voice lingers due to many practices, that i have went trough to sing his tunes with my own band. Many should think real hard -would Jani be wanting all tripping on him being gone, or still feel his music in your hearts? always know Jani, I'm sure loves his fans. so remember when you hear Jani sing he's already there and has never left us.
I a m from Colombia and just yesterday reading a Wikipedia articule found out about jani dead. I felt quite sad cause back in te 80s I had always admired him for the great energy an passion he transmited in his music. Never had the honor of meetting him but all my respect and love for him and gis family.
+Juan Pablo Sanin... So many have only recently learned of his sudden passing, even though it is going on 5 years now. His two Daughters & the rest of siblings miss him terribly, but his fans were his biggest accomplishments. I hope anyone who saw him perform witnessed the connection he made with everyone.
What a sweet video! I was looking up Warrant's "I Saw Red"acoustic (had it on cassette single b-side!) and saw this. My favorite Warrant album has always been Dog Eat Dog, it completely rocks and shows they were more than a hair band. I always loved Jani's writing style...such a unique point of view, lyrically. I cried when I saw he had passed. I wish you love and peace in this time of heartache. My deepest condolences, RIP Jani.
I just wanted to let you and your neice know what an integral part Jani's music had in my life. I've had a passion for writing from my early teens and so very much of it was inspired my Jani's lryrical genius. He was more than just the "pretty" faced frontman of a glam band, he had so much more to say. His music bled passion, pain, & purpose. I can remember exactly where I was when I saw "Down Boys" on Headbangers Ball at age 14. I was enthralled by the studded leather clothes.
i was so excited when i saw that Jani was going to be on That Metal Show,it all happened so fast.i love Jani, always have,he wrote some of my favorite rock songs EVER.i'm so sorry for your loss and my heart goes out to all of you. dave
:) I saw your dad in Chicago at a small club when they first really hit, I myself being a musicians was very impressed so talented your daddy. God's Blessings to you Princess I know he's proud
Jani is Warrant. Wrote the songs and put his heart and soul into them. He was kind enough to share with others (including those ungrateful band mates). Listen to stronger now and it always seems to make sad. Miss his music and talent which was under appreciated. Rock star all the way..miss ya.
Thank you so much for posting this. Jani's music has inspired me for 20 years. I am a songwriter because of him. Since his death Ive been on a "Jani-fest" so to speak. Thank you for sharing your family with us. Very touching and inspiring. Just yesterday my 10 year old son wrote his first song. Amazing how we all get inter-twined. He inspired me. I inspired my son. Maybe he will inspire millions. Like Jani did. God bless you and your family
For an 11 year old, at the time, she picked up the melody extremely quick. Harmonica is more difficult than people realize, unless you're a musician. Thanks Thomas. Love the music on your channel.
Yes she's amazing! Maddi's recent version of Heaven nearly brought me to tears. She has such a beautiful voice and is so talented. I would buy anything she recorded and not just because I'm a huge fan of her dad. Harmonica is super difficult! I play guitar but I'm lost on the harmonica. I'm a big Bob Dylan fan as well so that song was really nice to hear. Thank you too Victoria!
This is a very personal moment you've shared with us. Eric has skills..he kind of inspired ME to really try to master the opening riff on 'Uncle Toms Cabin"..still don't know how he did it!

But I will be cranking you up till I join you!! That`s a promise!! Victoria nothing is harder than losing a loved one!! Thank you for doing this it`s very special!! God bless you all!!
Thanks Todd. It's still hard to hear his voice out of the blue, either on the radio or TV or even in a Movie but I'm glad he left a great legacy.
I still do too I’m 47 and warrant was MY band I loved them & loved Jani’s solo Stuff even more he was so bluesy & raw & soulful
It makes my heart ache I never got to see him play live
I remember seeing him do an interview about his solo stuff& was so excited hoping he’d tour by my area
Victoria Ley I’m so sorry for your loss ❤️ Jani was a very special person & as his fan I miss him tremendously
My heart goes out to you and your family
Miss your dad so much! He was the greatest frontman, song writer, ect. RIP jani lane. Forever loved and never forgotten ! Xo
wow, she is really awesome on that harmonica!!! fellow ohioan here. ;-)
That's what I call true music coming from the heart - thank you!.
Kind regards from Germany
I'm so blessed to run across this looking for Jani Lane interviews, this popped up! Bless your hearts Janis brother and daughter, I miss JANI, I'm a huge fan, Jani's gone, but not forgotten, THATS FOR SURE!!!❤️
Lovely video. Jani was so talented and is missed by a lot of people. Dog Eat Dog - one of the best albums of the 90s - hugely underrated.
Thanks Eric and yes he was and still is for the most part.
Fantastic singing Eric and wow...great job on the harmonica Madison! I love it when the younger generations get into classic rock. Nothing better!
Jani had more fans then he will ever know, he was an incredible song writer, musican and singer, and he will be missed.
I'm hoping she reads your comment and thank you so much. (Vicky)
I once read something that suits Jani. Hero's are remembered but legends never die
Absolutely.
Very sorry to hear about your loss. I (as Millions of fans around the Globe) mourn with you. I pray you find the strength to Mourn for a moment and cherish the Great legacy your father/Brother created.
Maddi. I hope you read this now in 2019. Your father brought joy to millions of people and still does.
I hope she reads this and thank you
Your brother is not was an amazing soul with a voice that just goes to your toes. Always thinking of all of you. Thank you for sharing all of his gifts and blessings with us.
Warrant is not Warrant anymore without Jani Lane...
Thankyou for this vid...love
from the Sunshine Coast of Australia.... much Love from Steve W
No luck with "time" but but I do appreciate you sharing what you have, thank you
What a beautiful video!
Thank you, Jason and you're so right.
Your comment is truly one that reminds me why I have such a hard time "moving-on". Thank you

+boltzfansd Thank you and your thoughts and interest means the World to our family.
Victoria Ley .. that person's comment was well put and meaningful. I hope that made your day.. have a blessed day
Brian Loher :More than you will ever know and continues to this day.
I agree and feel the same way about Jani’s music

I sure hope she will, too. I would love to hear your Son's rendition, that's a hard song to do.
Victoria Ley my boy is in a band and they have a show coming up in August, I'll see if they will cover it and tag you in it.
That would be fantastic
I like this, very cool! Very emotional and touched watching this. Very amazing family you have Jani Lane RIP!!!
Didn't know where to post this, but wanted to wish the best singer, song writer, frontman, Jani Lane, Happy 55th Birthday. You're always in the hearts of your family, friends, and fans.
Lots of love to you both. Long live Jani through your hearts and all of the fans that loved his touchful music.
Thank you and I'm glad his lyrics and music have found a place in your heart, too.
Victoria Ley he touched a lot of people's hearts
I am constantly reminded of that and sincerely appreciate it on his behalf.
Thanks for sharing those tender moments. You both have amazing talents. God Bless You, and your brother.
I was enthralled by the studded leather clothes.
this is so sweet! what a rock of an uncle...hats off to you dude!
i was so excited when i saw that Jani was going to be on That Metal Show,it all happened so fast.i love Jani, always have,he wrote some of my favorite rock songs EVER.i'm so sorry for your loss and my heart goes out to all of you. dave
:) I saw your dad in Chicago at a small club when they first really hit, I myself being a musicians was very impressed so talented your daddy. God's Blessings to you Princess I know he's proud
The Daughters aren't on my channel very often, but they do see the comments. Let's hope she responds.
Jani is Warrant. Wrote the songs and put his heart and soul into them. He was kind enough to share with others (including those ungrateful band mates). Listen to stronger now and it always seems to make sad. Miss his music and talent which was under appreciated. Rock star all the way..miss ya.
What a great little harmonica player.
RIP Jani. You were an amazing singer and songwriter. This is such a great video.
So nice and thank you for sharing this with us. Very touching and may got bless you all. 🙂
What a Doll...God Bless You!!!!
That was so great. I love Dylan's "Girl From the North Country". Maddi has a wonderful ear for music you can tell
I know Madison reads these comments so she'll be very appreciative. Thank you so much.
Jani lane live in our hearts forever, Warrant never die.
RIP Jani and my condolences to the family and friends. Tragic loss of talent.
Thank you. muchas gracias.
This is a very personal moment you've shared with us. Eric has skills..he kind of inspired ME to really try to master the opening riff on 'Uncle Toms Cabin"..still don't know how he did it!
He doesn't either, he was just tuning up and playing around and Jani said "DONE"
@auntnooney ..Im still crying..have been since August..Jani is truely missed and He never lost his edge..Much Much Honor And Respect. R.I.P. And hope you all can find peace in his memory. Lots of Love And Tons Of Hugs To You.
Here I am again.... just as touching as always!
