It's amazing to see how good 757 looks now. When I first saw it at the railroad museum in Strasburg it looked like it was at the end of its life. This is just really impressive to me!
Just seeing 757 with the headlight, mars light on and even the bell operating makes you feel like its operational but it isn't still great to see 2 Berkshires in Bellevue Ohio for the first time in decades
Some real nice shots of the two berks. We actually have no running steam engines currently running in NJ so you are very fortunate to have a running berk engine. Our channel is mostly o gauge modeling and some railfanning in NJ on the Northeast corridor line. We see only diesel engines except for our J611 visit when she was recently at Strasburg, Pa. Gary
I don't think she was steamed up, they just added some sort of generater to make the light turn on and they added some sort or air thingy idk but i might be right
Great to see footage of two NKP Berkshire type locomotives have been reunited, there are 6 surviving NKP Berkshire type engines and these two look great being paired with each other.
757 received a quick paint job a couple years ago to improve cosmetics. It was determined the tender paint was in good enough shape to be skipped and it instead received a linseed oil treatment. Heavy restoration work has yet to begin.
@@NickelPlateDave now all we need is her tender filled with coal, water injected into the boiler, a hot fire and the sounds of steam flowing through her. I do agree that with the lights and bell, it was certainly a moment to not be forgotten.
No we were let out of the 765 cab to see 757 be coupled to her sister the video footage was of Fridays event she wasn’t giving any rides the day of the hostler event for the 24th all of these were recorded on my phone I kept my tripod in the building where they store the engines at night I got to see 757 with her mars lamp and her headlamp swaying and get bell working she was pulled out by a switcher on the side track and coupled to 765 for promotional photos they opened the fire hydrant so 765 could take on water it takes her about a good hour and a half to fill up on water max 2 hrs they moved her only once down the platform and then backed her up and she was uncoupled
Have you ever been to the museum the museum is by a major ns main line they only have 300 feet to move the engine it would be a waste of time and effort to restore the engine to full operational ns lost partner ship under the 21st century steam program in around 2016 I believe ?
Mad river nkp has stated many times that the 757 will never run their is no room to run her due to ns lines being every where around the property you have the 765 that’s operational and many other Berkshires

Well I’m glad that 757’s bell is ringing I hope to see 759 and 1223’s bell ringing
@@lynnwashington3820 that's a bit slim chance it'll happen.
1223 won’t run they have 1225

I was in Bellevue yesterday, didn't expect to see a Berkshire all fired up! My first sighting of a live steam locomotive, and what a first!
Amazing I first saw the locomotive 9 years ago

No 757 was not fired up
@@tomyrail7468 yes it a ac to dc converter that lights the 757

Its great to see two lima sisters meet for the first time over 60 years
Cool #757 & 765 Together.
I visited the Bellvue Train Museum and took great photos, close up, of the 757. Wish I could post them here but don't know how.
That is awesome!!! They made it feel like 757 was operational even though it isn’t.
Oh when you heard the bell ring with the mars light on and her head lamp swaying it felt like the 757 was alive even if you were their in person
757 looks in better shape than her tender does. So cool to see 2 berks moving together even if only one is operating
I think they will restore the tender from whet I her the 757 received a new coat a while ago
757 received a quick paint job a couple years ago to improve cosmetics. It was determined the tender paint was in good enough shape to be skipped and it instead received a linseed oil treatment. Heavy restoration work has yet to begin.
Could you imagine how awesome it would be to see 2 NKP Berks fired up and double heading?
Actually I kind of can I was in the cab when they were coupled up they had her bell on and mars light on the 757 it felt like she was alive
@@NickelPlateDave now all we need is her tender filled with coal, water injected into the boiler, a hot fire and the sounds of steam flowing through her. I do agree that with the lights and bell, it was certainly a moment to not be forgotten.
I did all of that except fill the tender with coal I even serviced the engine my full video of the event is uploading still
Awesome I wish if NKP 757 was fire up for the first time to operate to doubleheading with 765. Only if everyone wish for it.
Not going to happen sadly
very very cool
I like how they put 757 behind 765 for her to pull her sister. ❤️
That’s cool the Whistle is the same
Yep a Nathan 6 chime
Nice
757 is not fixed yet
She's not going to run only static display the museum has no where to run it or funds to do so
Epic
It seems like the NKP #757 is only 10% operational when it comes to the head lamp, mars light, and the bell.
That’s the closest your going to see her to operational they have no use to restore he r
why don't they do a bell and whistle battle between them
I can't wait until 757 is going to run again!
Mad river has stated before they have no intention of restoring the 2-8-4 to operational condition 765 is already in full working order
Oh.
Sad how 757 needs tons of work to be restored to working order but they are trying!
Won’t run we have 765
The biggus berkus reunion!
Amazing was this for the photo event?

I don’t know all the details to be honest
It would've been so much better if 757 was operational so I don't have to see that annoying diesel because we'll it's not a proper look
