    You’re video was great learned a lot. I have a 2006 Polaris 340 classic with P85 clutch, removed the motor rebuilt it put it back in the sled and the clutch is not lining up with the driven clutch. I have read the repair manual, cannot find a toque adjustment bolt, nor will the motor mount plate move. Question is how or what is the specs. For the clutch alignment?

  • @Rickydbaby
    @Rickydbaby 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Trs actually sells adjustable motor mounts to correct the lead in to get you as close to 0 lead in as possible.

    • @mountainsleddergarage8627
      @mountainsleddergarage8627  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes they do, I made a video about the TRS motor mounts last season. If your lead in is off by very much the only way to correct it is machine the stock mounts or buy the TRS mounts.

      The video is called TRS motor mount DIY, in the axys/matryx section of my videos.

    Great video, I bought the TRS alignment bar and am in the process of aligning the clutches. Was curious about the belt deflection adjustment screw. Won't the adjustment screw effect the position of the outer sheave? Should the belt deflection screw be turned all the way out for alignment? Or should the belt deflection be set properly for the initial alignment and a re-alignment done every so often after adjusting the belt deflection during the season?

      The adjuster moves the inner sheave outer doesn’t move

    this is the only video i see that has the specs for the clutch. the other videos show deflection only which is only is small part of clutch performance.

    Are the alignment tools interchangeable? I bought one through Polaris and can’t get to fit inside the housing

    • @mountainsleddergarage8627
      @mountainsleddergarage8627  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, unfortunately, they are all designed a little different. You need to find the specs for your specific tool in order to use it properly

    With as many shims as you have behind the clutch to get you against alingment bar it appears you only have float towards the outside panel but none going toward center of the sled. Is that how you want it? Just thinking outloud. Whats your handle on snowest?

    • @mountainsleddergarage8627
      @mountainsleddergarage8627  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's per the TRS alignment bar instructions. It's much tighter tolerances than Polaris. Been using the TRS bar for all my Polaris sleds for 4 years now with exceptional results, can't remember blowing a belt in that time. If you're on snowest in the Polaris section, TRS is in there a lot. Im madmax.

    • @gobigparts
      @gobigparts 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mountainsleddergarage8627 It could be he accounted for some float in both directions but factored that into the bar. Yes, I'm on Snowest as well.

      I was thinking the same thing. When you get on the gas and the alignment comes back it would move the bar in on the front of the secondary as well as the back. So I was wondering if that compensation was built in. Great video I would have just assumed all bars and specs were the same. Lots of good info here.

    • @mountainsleddergarage8627
      @mountainsleddergarage8627  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jasonfeger2308 yes, when he engine is under load it will twist a little bit in the chassis, that's what the "lead in" compensates for. The matryx motor mounts are much better than the axis mounts, so that helps a lot. Most Polaris less ive checked have some amount of lead in build into them, usually way too much. All alignment bars are not designed the same, you have to know how the bar you have is meant to be used.

      @@mountainsleddergarage8627 thanks for the response. I got to looking last night and on the forum it looks like everyone with a trs bar needs like 150 shim so I’m assuming that’s the difference in the bars. You can see that when you over lay them in your video. So who’s right? The trs bar or the stock one? Have you backed to back them to see the difference? I’m super curious before I buy a bar. Obviously you said you’ve had really good luck with the trs.

    Is this valid for mountain and trail sleds? Does polaris change specs for the two different applications?

    • @richardmaxwell1433
      @richardmaxwell1433 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Honestly, I don't work on any trail sleds, we just don't have them out west. I will say, the TRS alignment bar does it a little different than the Polaris specs, mush tighter tolerances.
