One thing that always flummoxed me was rory's ambition to be a journalist. Like where did that come from because it never suited her personality? I feel like she probably said she wanted to be a journalist as a child and her and her mom just stuck to that without reassessing what Rory wanted in her future. I think Rory is someone who wants to be successful but in a smaller way. Like owning a bookstore or being a librarian/writer would be more appropriate for her personality. One reason i love Jess is because he can see through everyone's facades. I love when they are driving in the car eating ice cream and he basically says he doesn't see her as a journalist. But she starts to get upset because she doesnt like not having a plan, and he reassures her that she can do it if she wants. But i really think jess had some great insight on who rory is. He called it even before logan's father, and he is the one who enlightens her to the fact that she should write a book instead of continuing to force the journalism thing. She's a good writer but that doesnt mean she's a journalist and she definitely lacks passion for it.

I relate to rory in this way because I studied to become a teacher just because I was a good student and it was the plan everyone had for me, basically. I liked having that plan. But eventually, I realized teaching did not mesh with my personality or my view for my life at all. I had a breakdown in uni (in similar rory fashion) only I didn't drop out, I still got my English degree (just not my education degree). Now I'm a librarian. I just can't help but relate to how rory is told she's so smart and university and being a journalist is the plan. She felt she couldn't deviate from that plan, so when Logan's dad spoke the truth (in a rude way, but still the truth), she couldn't handle it. It rocked her world. I just think that kids with good book smarts are often pushed down certain paths because of family expectations, and to continue on with their academic success, without a necessary pause to actually consider what they want out of life. They aren't always made to feel like they can take the time to make choices. It's full steam ahead with university and a chosen career that may not even suit them.

My theory was that Lorelei wanted to be a journalist and pushed her ideals onto Rory, she did that with Harvard with Rory.

A toned down, less intense version of journalism is non-fiction novelists. I know I'm not cut out for the chaos and fast pace of a newspaper or magazine that's put out daily or weekly! 😪 😊Rory SHOULD'VE DEFINITELY become a non-fiction novelist.

AGREED! I said the same thing in my comment. Jess brings out the best in her and makes her wanna do things she’s never really prepared for! And obviously reassures/ encourages her, I like that.

I'm Team Jess-- as an adult. Not Jess/Rory, but just Jess. I like how Jess grows up, because it shows how young people who go through traumatic situations and turn out better once they get good support. Also, (unpopular opinion) Jess and Rory as adults would be kind of...incestuous. They are technically cousins by the end of TYITL.
Also, I get sick of people excusing Jess as a 17 year old because "he had a bad childhood." No. He manipulated, lied, harassed, pushed boundaries, and stole. He was borderline antisocial, completely lacking empathy for others at first. People only make excuses for Young Jess because he was attractive. Jess needed to grow up, and find his stride in life. Maybe Rory helped push him.

paris and lane are absolutely the best characters of the show, the only ones with life goals and ambitions and personalities that they lived for and understood how hard it is to get there and how hard you have to work for it, especially because of how bad the situations they grew up with were, which is why lane’s future and “downfall” kinda hit me harder than rory’s, they did her So wrong, rory not understanding her privilege is one of the thing that bothered me the most throughout the whole show.

Hot Take: My problematic fave, Lorelai, was a major factor in Rory’s decision to lead Dean on while she very clearly had feelings for Jess. Lorelai disliked Jess so much and did WAY too much meddling with both boys (talking to Dean after the Basket episode, and when she came home to find Dean was washing Rory’s car, and confronting Jess after she caught him putting Rory’s bracelet back in her room). If Lorelai had been upfront with Rory (sooner than the Lazy Hazy Days of Summer episode) and told her that “it’s ok to fall out of love with someone but it’s not ok continue dating them bc you’re in denial about your feelings for the other person” it might have brought back the Rory we knew in S1. Not saying it’s all Lorelai’s fault, that would dismiss Rory’s autonomy. But Lorelai is her mother and best friend, if she was going to listen to anyone it would be her.

    • @takemetomarz

I LOVED Logan! He put Rory in her place when she was being spoiled and selfish whilst also acknowledging he comes from extreme wealth. He was frequently calm, cool, and collected. Logan supported Rory's dreams and wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. 🥰😍🥰

NO EXACTLY!! dean had a reason to be possessive, rory was emotionally invested in jess waayyy before she actually cheated, so he was still betrayed by her in a way and that was a normal teenager response
he defo wasn't the best but also he's not the worst (especially compared to jess) also yes, they dumbed him tf down, I think the writers did not realize that jess just wasn't that great in comparison to sweetheart perfect first boyfriend dean so they evened the Plainfield in order to make people like jess
i watched the show for the first time last year and was also sO shocked when the majority of the fandom turned out to be team jess... i really am trying to understand the appeal but he was just too distant emotionally and he left her ALL THE TIME, he never cared for rory's interests even when she always asked for him to join ("it was never his thing"), and practically only ever hung out with her to makeout and read books every once in a while. yes he was great in later seasons but that was AFTER they dated!!! that doesn't count
the hot girlies are logan girlies, they match each other the best bc they're both rich n privileged but they have SUCH good banter and chemistry which makes them just loveable enough when they're together

Dean definitely loved Rory more than she loved him but she loved be loved so much. I like Jess as a person when he got out on his own and moved on but they were not good together. And then Rory took at advantage of his feelings for her when she tried to get back at Logan. I think as a couple Logan and Rory were the most balanced. She made him want to settle down, get serious, and actually strive for something. He made her loosen up in a way that was never allowed before and he gave her some much needed wake up calls about her privilege.

I totally agree with what you said about Jess in the early seasons, but when he comes back at the end, I fell in love with him. His character growth was amazing. He needed time away from Rory to mature and become an emotionally stable man.
Jess was the best guy for Rory at the end, because he supported her, yet challenged her to be better and called her out when she needed a reality check.

it always makes me mad how ppl reason hating dean bc he was jealous of jess or bc of how he broke up with rory after jess but ppl act as if rory didn’t actually cheat on him or wasn’t actively flirting with him for months also at 16/17/18 i would’ve definitely reacted the same way as dean. this is not to defend him as he later on did make some terrible decisions but b4 all that happened dean’s reactions to the things happening around him was very normal for his age

  • @Jo-dr3en

I'm so glad someone is talking about Jess getting mad at Rory for not having sex with him. That scene is so deeply uncomfortable, and I already wasn't that big on Jesse for a variety of reasons, but his good qualities are completely nullified by that scene. It's weird to me how all the Jess stans just forget or choose to ignore that that happened.

    • @CD-qr7ec
      @CD-qr7ec 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

I really didn't see it like jess got mad because she didn't have sex. I see it as that was rorys interpretation of the event (so lots of watchers seem to accept rorys interpretation as fact rather than seeing the bigger picture that I think we were meant to take from it). Instead I thought it was clearly a miscommunication. Jess was upset about everything else that was going on. He messed up by not communicating honestly about that, the same way rory didn't communicate to him her fears about him being mad at her. Even she admitted when talking to lorelai that she didn't know if he was mad about that or something else. The show showed us the wider lense with jess' perspective, that jess wasn't mad about that and wanted to talk to rory about it after but chickened out. The idea that he was mad about no sex was just rorys fearful interpretation and even she thought that might not be it and that maybe something else was going on.

    • @CD-qr7ec
      @CD-qr7ec 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Also as a victim of sa I don't understand people who equate this scene to sexual assault. He wanted sex and made moves, she said no, he stopped. If that had been my experience I would not call it sexual assault. If he had stopped after I said no I wouldn't have been sexually assaulted and I think it minimises sa to call this sa. They were consensually kissing, he made moves, we know from other scenes that rory told her mum she was thinking of sleeping with him and that's where she saw the relationship going and so it's not inconceivable that she'd previously signalled that to Jess and that this wasn't totally out of the blue
      .
He thought this was the time and place. She was not comfortable and said stop AND HE DID!!!! As a sa survivor it upsets me a lot that people diminish sa by calling this sa. He stopped, he did the right thing. I can get that it was poor timing, poor place, I get that it was uncomfortable and emotional and upsetting BUT IT WAS OVER A MISUNDERSTANDING, NOT BECAUSE HE ASSAULTED HER, HE DIDNT.

My thing is how people tend to praise Rory. She's a cheater and has engaged with men that were taken. The fact that she can joke about it too in the special was nuts. I don't think that falls on her mom nor the way she was raised though. Although her stressing out in the netflix special was definitely a result of people around her kind of boasting her and putting her on a pedestal.

    • @snehalkancharlawar315
      @snehalkancharlawar315 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

I agree, but when it comes to cheating with married men, I feel like we as a society need to put more of the blame on the married man, as he is the one breaking an actual commitment that he made to his wife/partner. Still liking Dean after he was horrible and basically emotionally abusive to Lindsey, cheating on her and then gaslighting her about it is such a double standard. The "other woman" in these kinds of affairs always get more hate than the man and I think thats so messed up.

In the OG Jess did not deserve Rory but in the revival Rory does not deserve Jess. Funny how that turned out in the end so if you even choose Logan over Jess after the revival then I wonder why? Jess deserves a woman that doesn't cheat, isn't obesessed with someone that's married or is having a child from an affair. I read a quote somewhere about Rory's love interests: "Dean was Lorelai's choice, Logan was her grandparents' choice but Jess was Rory's choice". And that's true no matter team you're on. Jess and Paris had the best character development in the show because they had barely someone to lean on. Jess had Luke but not really in his life for a long time so he had to fight for everything. Luke was more of a dad to Rory then to Jess and I just felt bad because you could see that Jess needed more support after his traumatic childhood. But Luke kept saying that Jess needs to treat Rory right but not once did he think that Rory wouldn't treat him fairly because she also was at fault in their relationship.

      Mostly the end.
Cause jess even told Luke that girls treated him horribly. At that moment he opened up but Luke looked past that comment and only saw the "playboy" act.. whyyy Rory's mom.
Luke is in love with her so Rory is important.

Let me tell you about the boyfriends and the storytelling involving them. Dean was great for Rory at the start when she was in high school but terrible for her in the end when she was in college. Logan was great for Rory at the start when she was in college but terrible for her in the end when she was a grown adult out in the real world. However, Jess was terrible for Rory at the start but great for her in the end when they were both grown adults. The revival ended with Dean married with kids, Logan engaged living his lavish lifestyle in London and Jess single giving Rory a longing look through the window. When all is said and done, the long term development and direction was always going to favor Jess because him and Rory didn't peak like she did with Dean in high school and Logan in college both of which ended with affairs meanwhile Rory and Jess are yet to even have sex or more importantly a proper relationship. Team Jess!!!

Jess called Rory out when she left college and woke her up to get back on course, also to evaluate Logan’s character. He spoke truth to her in a way she could hear it. He then gave her his opinion when she was floundering trying to break into the journalist mode by saying she should write a book about what she knows..her mom and her. Jess knows Rory better than anyone and has been there for her when it counts…just like Luke was for Lorelei.

Honestly, I feel like Paris definately did not benefit from the lack of community and parental guidance. She was making a bunch of bad decisions in high school and had very poor social skills. She later went on to date a professor in college, which is not only creepy given the fact he was nearly 40 years older than her, but also an unhealthy releationship. She also seemed to suffer from major anxiety and didn't live much of a fullfilling life as a child. I think Rory, on the other hand was able to live more of a fullfilling life early on and she became so spoiled because her mother was a bad role model and also didn't impart the correct morals in Rory, such as cheating is bad.

  • @katejoseph6547

As for with the proposal, I fully blame the writers. Logan had grown over time and had a sense of maturity and I don’t think it was in his character to not only spring marriage upon Rory without talking about it but also giving her an ultimatum. And let’s be honest, Logan completely regresses in the reboot. Living back under his daddy’s thumb, cheating on a fiancé. The writers truly did his character a disservice

For me, Logan is just a privileged white college dude. Jess was a traumatized teenager. He had no reason to be a good boyfriend with what was going on in his life. His mom, with whom he grew up with watching her multiple toxic relationships, sended him to live with his auncle in a weird small town. He doesn't feel any passion for any career, probably because he doesn't feel good enough (aka trauma), he just wants to work and do his own thing make his own money (lucky for you if you can't relate) so he's not motivated at all to do well in school. Then, all of the sudden, his dad who he doesn't even know shows up in his life. It's too much for a teenager that clearly needed therapy. Rory was privileged too. She might've not had much money growing up but she had a good responsible mom and a whole town looking after her. So yeah, Jess might have not been the best boyfriend but he's still my favorite considering those facts. Also, he had a gread developement and he never tried to kiss Rory when she was in a relationship. The other two cheated on their partners with her and I think that's messed up. Rory is not the best girlfriend to be with anyways (or friend even, I never liked how she treated Paris)

Logan was the one who told her to factor him in, he would never just take that back. He would also never just propose without talking to her because it was established that he was a great communicator. ALSO, he loved Rory too much to give up on them just because of long distance. I am team Jess all the way, but not as a boyfriend. He was a bad boyfriend. What I love in him, is how he developed to be a good mature man. He clearly have family issues ( his dad left him, his mom have a lot of crappy boyfriends and husbands so we can imagine what he can saw from those men, also his mom used marihuana and things like that she mentioned her wedding day, he was raised by the streets). He has the less stabil family from all of Rory's boyfriends. And he got scared from this stabil home, and the fact that he screwed up so he run away. His relationship with Rory was just a part of his development, help him to change later. But Luke was the one who actually help him became his best version. And that version of what I really love and why he is my fav.
But also I think that too: Logan was her best boyfriend and they ruined him in revival.
Also I hate what they did to Lane. She was an idol to me. She was that character that made me believe that you can have a carrier a marriage(even when your young, because marriege is not about how old you are, is about how mature you are) and kids at the same time, you don't have to choose. And they made my twisted extroverted "twin" a stay at home mom, no carrier, stuck in the city. She deserved more than that, just like Paris and the fact that they made her and Doyle divorce it is a CRIME.

as a woman that NEEEEEEDS stability and security to feel safe, the idea of dating a young jess gives me so much anxiety lol he was a horrible boy friend and could still not for the life of me understand his appeal, i'm not team dean either, BUT, deans jealousy came from a place of fear and insecurity. jess' jealousy came from a place of antagonizing the enemy (dean). jess was also a jealous AND angry person! idk why deans anger and jealousy is immediately considered toxic or a red flag, when jess is (almost) infantilized for his because of his family trauma. hurt people, hurt people lol goes for dean and jess.
*edit- ALSO, after the party that jess/dean got into a fight at, dean cleaned up his mess while jess essentially ran off. dean coordinated with the homeowner to fix the fence he broke and (i think) helped clean the house after the party. jess felt remorseful, but wasn't in a place yet to apologize or find a solution, luke had to put his foot down and enforce some consequence. dean from the beginning and throughout the show always cleaned up his messes which at his age always blew me away. jess ran from his messes but eventually grew to become someone more mature.

100% agree with you regarding the boyfriends and I was the same exact age as Lorelai when the show came out and am just watching it all the way through now. Dean was awesome in the beginning (I lost a lot of respect for him when he lied to Rory about the status of his marriage). Jess was yuck. I don’t even know if I would have liked him as a teenager. Logan didn’t have my perfect concept of a moral compass, but I really thought he was the best guy in terms of loving Rory right where she was at and general potential.

Lorelei is my absolute faveorite tho! Rorry was always pretty boring to me from the beginning. Controversial Opinion: Suprisingly i kind of liked her a little more when she started making mistakes because she was written so plane to me in the beginning and i just could not relate. I adore Lorelei, i like Emily and rorry ist just there. I really love Paris too. Side note: I dont even think the reboot is a part of the series. I just cut it out. The writing is ridiculous and does not even compare. I watch the show all the time since i was little. I watched the reeboot One time and which i did not. I also cannot relate if jazz is your fave boyfriend. They never had a real realationship anyways. I adore Logan and even with his mistakes i think he can do better than rorry. He was charming and matched her energy well. He was overall a supportive boyfriend. She grounded him a bit and he gave her a bit of spice and Adventure. Regardeless he could do better. I always related to lorelei because of her bubbliness and strong opinions. Her and Emily are the Same in regards of being stubborn. I think she was a good mom and I do not think that she was to much of a friend to rorry to be honest. I think building up your childreen is the right think to do and rorry is more at fault for not learning. Because of her upbringing she should had have the confidence to move on quickly from the kritik (from logans dad thing) but she did not. My mom was a a single mom as well and i am an only Child so i love this Show. I think her building me up lead to me being way better with Standing up for myself if needed than a lot of people i know. Side Note: Lorelei is a Style Icon! Timeless and trendy to this Day
I never commited anything on the internet but i just was inspired to due to this video 💁🏼‍♀️ sorry for all the spelling mistakes. I am german haha

I have more Jess was abandoned by his dad, then, by his mother, and sent to live with his uncle, the entire town that he lived in, hated it just because he was new he got people saying he was trouble when he’s basically done nothing he just doesn’t like the talk first time he left. He just broke the wrist of the town princess, so of course the town was gonna hate him we left the second time he left. He just got a fight with Dean a physical fight and Rory was hating him and he was not graduating so we left. Don’t think I’m leaving was appropriate. I think he should’ve stayed, but at the same time you have to get it on the idea that everybody’s ever loved has abandoned him so all he knows is to run away so he runs away. This kid is so f***ed in the head that’s happened to himHis mum left him his dad left him the town. He lived and hated him. The f***ing Kid and look at him now, has written a book and becomes successful. People just needed to wait. He was a teenage boy. What did they really expect for him? Poor Kid had to abandonment issues.

I started watching this with my mom, who is a lot like Emily. She didn't like the show, can't imagine why lol. I had my daughter young so we'd watch it as she was growing up, it was so relatable on so many levels. It's definitely our comfort show. We both independently rewatch the whole series yearly. It's ritual to send each other the Hep Aliens tambourine scene when we come across it, "uh ya, uh." I love Paris, she gets the funniest lines for sure. I like Logan and Rory, the Yale years are actually my favorite. I love Jess as a character. He reminds me of every boy I loved as a teenager, and his character arch is satisfying. I can't stand Dean or Christopher, I find them both so whiny and annoying. Rune is another character I really like, I love that they kept bringing him back. The thing that always makes me laugh is how the town and characters backstories constantly change, there's no continuity at all. I think Rory goal should've been to be a writer, she's too timid to be a war correspondent. Jess could've been a journalist. And Luke, always love Luke.

I think part of the reason that everyone is on different teams is how we interpret things differently. Watching this video, I realized I interpreted Jess way differently than you did. He wasn't mad at Rory for not having sex. He was mad at himself for getting kicked out of school so he turned on the person he cared about the most (which is a common thing almost everyone does). That situation was a mess but you could see the regret on his face when he made her cry. In my eyes, he wasn't a jerk. He acted like he was expected to act. Rory acted entitled sometimes because she was coddled. Jess acted out and never tried because he was always expected to fail. Also psychologically, children who are neglected act badly so they can never let you down. If they push you away, they can never disappoint you. That's why he always ran. he couldn't stand to see how he failed Rory. It wasn't right to run away but in his mind it was the only option. Jess messed with Dean to feel in control. He wanted power because it was all taken away from him. He loved Rory so much and I blame the writers for not letting him go to events for her while they dated. It didn't make sense in his character. I mean think about it. He cared about her enough that he noticed the little things, that he tried to give her mom a chance even though he knew she couldn't stand him, he turned the sprinklers off without a moment of hesitation and then turned them back on so that Dean cold be the hero even though he hated Dean. He did it for Rory. He was so selfless when it came to her so for him to suddenly not care made no sense. If he just wanted a girl to make out with, he would have stayed with Shane (or whatever her name is). People never think about how Rory not only strung Dean along, she strung Jess along too. Yes, he knew she was in a relationship, but SHE kissed him (which usually means that the girl likes you) and then just ditched him. She then got jealous of him when he was trying to move on. Now back to the original point. Jess would only fight with Rory when he thought he wasn't good enough. Every time they fought, it was obvious he wasn't mad at her. He was mad at himself. Jess as a teenager honestly wasn't mentally healthy enough for a relationship, but I prefer Rory with him the most because she seemed the most herself when she was with him. They were the right people, wrong time. I really feel for Jess because I had an unstable childhood. I never had anyone there for me but I got lucky and eventually was able to teach myself to control my emotions around the age of 14. As a teenager I fought depression multiple times a year and in the end, I wanted Jess to get the help he needed. In the end he got there and became an amazing person, who, once again, cared for Rory immensely. Sorry for chaotic blurb. You don't have to agree but please try to keep it respectful as you yell at me on how my opinion is wrong. Opinions can't be wrong. This is my opinion and I stand by it 100% percent. Also you should know, I study psychology so I am not knew to these subjects

only things i want to note, are 1) max was not a good partner. literally their whole relationship was him being pushy and convincing Lorelai to take steps she wasn't interested in. she was uncomfortable dating him at all and he kept pushing until she gave in. she was uncomfortable inviting him over and he kept pushing until she did, she even mentions that they were dating kind of casually and then they were apart for a bit and then together again and things suddenly got very serious. that was all max, pushingn lorelai into what he wanted when she wasnt really where he was at
    2) i actually found the whole thing with lorelai not being able to think of something to say at her dad's funera so realtable. my parents are both alive and i love them, but our relationship has been so complicated at times honestly sometimes i think of some of the bad or kind of gray in the middle stuff before the good stuff comes to mind. lorelai and her dad also had a very complicated relationship, like what we saw of it was some of the best of it honestly because everyhting in the show gives the impression that he was an emotionally and somewhat physically pretty bsent parent to her. she was grieving too, grieving the loss of a parent with whom she had a very complicated relationship... like theres no way she was thinking "i need to say something nice so i dont hurt mom's feelings" she was literally just put on the spot and the first things that came to mind were hard memories because a lot of the time thats who her dad was to her

Has anyone ever told you that you look like Mandy Moore? That’s a compliment btw because she’s awesome! I love Gilmore Girls and I appreciate that you are giving your unpopular opinions. The only thing I disagree a little bit with you about is that Dean was a good boyfriend. It’s a matter of opinion but I do think season 1 Dean made an okay boyfriend but by season 2, he was super possessive and then later, he treated Lindsey like garbage. I myself am Team Jess but I totally can see why someone would be Team Logan. Rory did bring up marriage in passing to her mom in the Valentine’s Day at Martha’s Vineyard when she told her that Logan and Luke were “the ones” but you’re right! She and Logan never discussed getting married. Yes about Chris too! I will forever be annoyed that he and Lorelai got married in season 7. The only thing that saved it for me was that she came back and got together with Luke. I will also forever be annoyed by the appearance of April. It nearly ruined the show for me. I agree on like 95% of what you said actually! Yes, Dave is the best boyfriend!! Great job with your review!

Okay so my 2 cents, since I’m assuming we’re free to leave our opinions and discuss CIVIL-LY! :
I looked at you and guessed right, you could never be team Jess, no offense I could just tell. As a girly from team j I respect your opinions. Sure, Jess was entitled and v much rude in the first few eps but that wasn’t a deal breaker for me, just like you didn’t find odd how Dean reacted to the confession thing. I’m very much an adult and still chose to put Jess at the top it has nothing to do with my “obsession” or “age/teenager” w bad boys, I don’t mind them and maybe I would’ve never been team Jess if I actually found him repulsive, in fact on the contrary, I looked past his actions and saw the little things he used to do or say which truly showed his care. He was the right puzzle to fit Rory’s studios and nerdy nature, it was more like a right person wrong timing thing, not to mention him in the future >>> the maturest of em all!
Plus I don’t get how much hate Jess gets for “disrespecting” authority but when Logan does smth illegal it’s hot?? Like make it make sense..
Plus yes! Him just randomly leaving one day after calling Rory lovey dovey nicknames was not okay. I can get behind that, BUT he had major issues. I just find myself empathizing with him because of the impact he acc had in Rory’s life, no matter how shitty his family situation was, he always encouraged HER to do good, even when Dean was there not being helpful at all and forcing her to not apparently “study”, Jess gave her a reality check during the whole Yale situation. Not to mention he was always trying to better the rs, either by being friendlier to Lor, nicer to Luke and more appreciative etc etc. I just can’t seem to hate him despite his questionable acts.
Dean was never it for me. Everything was too good with him at the beginning and then later he just got unbearable. The whole cheating on his wife put me WAY too salty regarding him and could never see him in a good light. Same with Rory. Oh also the eps where lorelai was OBSESSIVLY comparing Jess and Dean it made me hate Dean even more although ik it’s not entirely his fault but lor tried so hard to make him look like a saint I couldn’t look past it, call it petty but eh.
As per Logan, he seemed like a mix between Dean and Tristan for me.
Interestingly I was hoping we could’ve gotten Tristan and Rory instead since the chemistry between them ✨and the eps where Rory was actually kinda? attracted to him and how they shared a kiss by the piano EE I loved it sm the tension was perff >> it was giving enemies to lovers
Although I do think Logan “changed” Rory for the better. He at times was not the best, but still better than Dean.
Everything you said about Rory/ Paris and Lane I agree. Rory was entitled because of how much she was coddled. Paris was annoying in the beginning with her hyper energy and really weird behavior but then girly had priorities and ate it up in the future as well. She worked her ass off, which Rory did as well but she always had an option to opt out bc of the luxury of good support system and bc her self esteem was wayyy too high for her own good.
Lorelai sleeping with Chris when she and Luke were not on talking terms was not right. I just can’t see how that’s justified, sure he’s acting weird asf, doesn’t mean you’ll go sleep with the guy you’ll never even be with for more than an year. Like??
Plus the whole food junk eating and how skinny they were was a whole another thing. I absolutely agree with everything you said about how the show portrayed them as poor when really…they’re well off.
At the end of the day it doesn’t matter which team everyone’s from, we all can agree it’s our comfort show and we love it dearly

This is coming from a team Jess but I think Jess loved Rory the most like the way he looked at her and at then very end of a year in a life they way he looked at show that he was so in love with her and see made those feelings come back. And he was nice to her and treated her way way way better then dean ever did there in two sense that I think show what I’m taking bout the best
In one sense it is dean and Rory talking about what is going to happen when she leaves for Harvard and dean said “ so are we just going to break up” but when Jess and Rory where talking about the same thing Jess had looked how far Yale was from star stars, hollow showing that he loved her and didn’t want there relationship to end just because she moved. Anyway I love Jess and very passionate about this

I feel like their actors just had such amazing chemistry… it’s hard to argue why we root for them but I think that’s a lot of it!
