- Corel Laser Tutorial for beginners!
This video shows you how to use Corel Laser as a beginner. I will show you how to make a simple name tag or key chain and show you the principles. With this knowlege you can make hundrets of projects already!
Sheduled in my next video will be how to edit shapes individually by converting them to curves where you can add points on every pixel of a line and modify them in any way you want, easily making more complex shapes possible.
Somehow the files got corrupted during editing and the sound now sounds a bit weird at some points, as my english isn't perfect eighter it will be an adaventure to listen to... so please excuse the bad audio and me mixing up terms and desperately searching my vocabular for the right words. ;-)

Just something to check but did you notice that when you were having the issue with the bug that you only incurred the problem when you selected the "Cutting" button but when you chose the "Engrave" button the text was aligned away from the crosshairs? I will have to check this theory myself but maybe something to look into. Great video thanks for sharing you knowledge!

Sam Bee engrave and cut data must be the same format. I always engrave .png and cut .png. That solves the problem.

Could be another bug. I would recommand you the facebook page Laser Engraving & Cutting where you could ask to get a newer version... but Psshhht

how to save the project, in what file if you want to throw it into the laser?
when I reopen the file saved as coreldraw, there is no Laser panel (upper right corner)
Corel draw uses the .cdr file ending. Make sure when you just doubble click on the file it opens corel laser and not corel draw! Corel Draw will remain on your pc as “corel laser” is only a kind of an addon. Corel Draw opens exactly the same than Corel Laser but without the laser control panel on the upper right!
Open corel laser first, then open from within the application rather than double click the file

Hi, usually the softwares comes with the actual laser machine. But in case it dident you can join the group "laser engraving and cutting" on Facebook
In Coreldraw, how do you change the Power out put on each, the Engraving and the Cutting. It seems to stay 75% and Grey.
You can’t. The laser cuts or engraves what is black at least in Corel Draw. You can choose in the laser settings on the upper right if you want to engrave or cut.
@@MancaveEffects yes I understand to pick Engraving or Cutting, but can you pick the power output like 50% or 75% power or you have to do one at a time and change the power on the Laser display itself?
What i do to solve the problem is have a small square in the top left which is there for both engraving and cutting, that way the origin is always the same point
Hello, I bought my 80watt laser from a guy, and he gave me a flash drive with corellaser on it but I can't install it on my laptop, have any suggestions please.
Corel draw sometimes has its own will and refuses to do this and that.... i would suggest to join the Facebook Group “Laser Engraving and Cutting. Somebody there will hook you up with a working version for the software.

Hi, unfortunately i cannot give you a direct link as Corel Draw is not a free software, but there are groups on facebook about laser cutting and engraving you can join. There you can find downloads for the software in case yours stoped working for some reason.
Hi mine is using corel×13 and after am done with the designs I click on the engrave icon it's not outputting.
I don’t know if Corel Draw x13 will work, never tried it. Have you chosen the right Stepper motor mainoard in the setup? Easiest is to take a picture inside the laser, it sits where the usb port on the machine is and usually has the board number. Printed on.
Also don’t forget to insert the little usb stick that came with the laser into the computer as this unlocks the output!

Is this software only for k40 laser cutter? Can i use it yo a small laser cutter? I read that this bug when choosing engrave or cut can be avoided jf you put a 1 px black spot in the top left corner.try it and give feedback
Hi and thank for the advice! I will test this out. I think the plugin supports 3 or 4 pcb‘s (Mainboards). I think they are all boards out of the K40 familly. But you could look if there is a Corel Draw plug in for your brand of laser.

@@aspergerhellasbn Corel Draw can also export as .dxf, .dwg or .ai file ending. Maybe that helps?

But you could make your designs in corel Draw, export the file and import it to your laser cut software for cutting.
There is a nice Facebook group called "Laser Engraving and Cutting" there may be people that can help you further with your specific machine.

Thank you for the nice feedback! I really appreciate that! Now speed wise i ended up to always go full throttle with exception of paper, cardboard or vinyl foil, so very thin materials, there i go low power but fast.
For leather, wood, acyllic, pvc, foam etc it is more a question about how many passes and how fast. Usually for 3mm wood i go with +- 15mA of output power and 20mm/sec. Still i usually need two to three passes. That also depends how good your mirrors and focussing lens is calibrated and if your working piece is in the exact beam focal. Never tried leather but i would go with 15mA and 30mm/second for the first pass at least to avoid charring.

For what i know Corel Draw 12 is the latest version where the K40 plug in works

I have it running on CD12. It would be quite nice if it would run on X7 though.

What laptop would do the job for use with the K40 - I’m old school hammer and nails guy and computer’s are “not May department” I’ve got a old MSI U135 DX note book,16gig,RAM DDRIII 1GB,ODD none, if that makes any sense because it means f*ck all to myself to be honest as I haven’t got a clue about computers So I’m now stuck with a K40 I can’t use and a desktop diode laser eleksmaker pro3 that I was given to me that I’ve yet to be fully assembled,

Don’t worry about you English it’s fine.
You can test it out by simply downloading a free Corel Draw trial. However the k40 as i know only runs on Corel Draw 12 what is a very old version. I have it run on an older laptop so i think yours is more than enough sufficient. You will need two usb ports, one for the “safety doggle” what is basicly a usb stick and a usb port to hook up the machine.

If you meed to cut outline anyways, you can engrave it there first, no big deal really. That place needs to be cut anyways.
+Vlad B thats right, only if the engraving is smaller it saves a lot of time making the other lines transparent
