Matt, you are a very very good player. what u should add to your game is being more natural on the ball. For example, if you receive a throw in, and the pressure is coming to you, switch the ball to your keeper. Be more effective in your game. This is what scouts look for. They look for players who change the game, which is what you do, but these little details with help you a lot. -Love from Spain!
Shanyis Jernigan i’m helping him to improve and so he can get better each and every day. I know he knows it, but many peple in that cuntry dont do that so it’s a reminder. stfu
David Eaton Yeah bro no problem. So all i’m saying is that when he gets the ball, he should try to open the ball more to spread the game. Also, when he gets the ball, he should always have his head up so he knows what to do when he gets it. When he gets it, he should try to have skills to get out of tight situations. In this video, you can see he just “pops it up”. No, you should do a cruyff, go back play your goalie, or play inside. He is an extraordinary player but these are just tips he should do if he wants to go to the mls and further
Plz keep doing more game analysis it's really informative and also fun to watch. Also can you do a video on different types of passes for an attacking midfielder
It's my only form of cardio other than cycling. For me it replaces jogging, which I think does more harm than good. Mix up skipping with sprinting a couple of times a week and you'll see epic results.
@@David-cm4ok thanks for answer bro, i know that it will help my cardio and I do it when is cold outside..But I also I don't know if it is worth because it's not soccer specific training.
Love these game analysis videos, great to look back and reflect on games, especially in the offseason!🙌🏼 I also post soccer and fitness videos every Saturday night!
hy mat how are you, you are my inspiration for creating videos oh highlights on my kids game, we always watch your drill since last 2 years... congrats to you and to mimi your both nice person...
At 10:50 you should have penetrated their zone yourself, instead of looking for someone to pass to. This is yet another prime example of how you play differently in a friendly 4 on 4 game or practice, as opposed to a real game. It's almost as though you only see what you need to do when you have no other option (which is what usually happens when you're playing 4 on 4, because often there's no one to pass to, and so you have to take the ball in yourself). If I were you, Matt, I would make this my biggest challenge for the coming season. Learn to instinctively take the ball in yourself, rather than forcing a pass. Because THAT'S how you open up the opponents defense and create dangerous plays. I honestly believe if you can do this more often, you will stand out more as a desirable player for better soccer clubs.
fredarzani1 agreed he repeatedly does this. Never forces the move always takes a passing option. Every game is the same. He beats his cones but won’t beat actual players. That’s why he can’t make it to the top.
Remember, he is a right back. Not an attacker. If he does that and loses the ball, his team is going to be in trouble and his coach is going to be pissed because that’s probably not what he wants him to do. If his coach doesn’t like what Matt does he’s going to get benched, if he gets benched he is going to have a lot harder time finding a contract for next season and then he doesn’t have a job. He needs to do what his coach wants. So express your opinions by all means, but know he is not going to listen to you because at the end of the day, he’s a professional and you (most likely) are not.
Or even pass to the CM (easy simple pass) since HE's the play maker. Not you. HE makes the creative passes to the striker. If you don't like it then play wing or CM/AM
If you tweak a muscle when training, try to switch to exercises that dont use it as much. If you can’t, train lighter, and keep stretching it out. If its too bad, dont train, just stretch it every day until you’re better. You don’t wanna hurt urself further. Stopping for a few days and stretching is better than hurting yourself and being out for a long time
See the difference between a defender and a forward is that Matt wanted to shield the ball out and I probably would have done a flick backwards over the forward
When ur defending and running down the line towards the corner flag, should u try and block the cross or wait to see if they cut back. I never know what to do in this situation because I don’t want them to fake the cross and cut in on me
always attempt to block the cross, if they do cut back you should be on your tiptoes that way you are ready to change direction with them. (oh and never shut your eyes or roll your head when you attempt to block the cross because then you won't be able to see if he actually does cut back... its milliseconds!)
It depends on the wingers tendencies some love dribbling down the line and others love to cut in. You're only option is to jockey and defend based on the opponents tendencies during the game.
Hey matt serious question: I'm 19 almost 20 and never had a football lesson in my life as I grew up playing american football, what are some steps I could take in order to play at a high level or a serious competitive level? Would moving to another country help? (from united states) Currently looking to play striker or a forward position as I consider myself elusive and fast, yet have strength from football training.
As an FB you should not be passing to your striker so often. Use the midfield, give diagonal balls, change the ball to the other flank. Almost every pass seems to be straight forward down the wing into a player who is marked or does not have much space. Fix that!
I'm looking to further my soccer career. After watching this video your team is about as good as my u17 club team. Do you recommend D1 soccer or MLS as I go off to college?
Kids should rather eat healthy and nutritional food. There is nothing wrong in protein shakes but the question is that do kids really need protein shakes. Protein shakes are good when you are trying to get muscle and can’t eat enough solid food to grow muscle. Protein shakes are also good if you know you aren’t gonna be able to eat right after your workout
I live in Hawaii and would love to meet you. You are so inspirational to me and I was also wondering what island you are on? Would love to meet you. Thanks
Hi Sheldon, I’ve been following you for two years! Great stuff! And congratulations for the successful proposal! I have a very simple question. Can I know what video editor are you using? I love your video so much. It’s simple, clean yet smooth and stylish. I want to use it for my video as well. Looking forward for your reply!
Scouts will call this type of defender a disruptive player. Someone who has no creativity or vision lin order to move forward playing the ball and happens to only blow balls forward or play back which is often a bad pass from his part
@@peteramos7270 Hello, Peter: I failed to mention you can start squats without any weight, and do an exercise called Bulgarian split squats, which is one leg at a time. THere are videos. You can use household items to add weight when needed. You will be one of the best players on your team if you do strength training and juggling.
From what i can See (of course only in your Videos because I did not watch your games) is that your Team has the wrong tactics in the build up play. You play so much vertical passes at the back line to keep posession obviously. The Problem is that the other team can shift easily to the other side and block the build up. Also you play with a big guy as a center forward who could hold the ball, what he does sometimes but why don't you play with a third runner? The forward gets the ball and just has to pass it to the midfielder who Plays the ball deep behind the back line. But These arejust a few things that i could see from your highlight Videos. Maybe your team makes similar things but it doesn't work? Please correct me if im wrong. Greetings from Germany.

Well, as a Right back it is hard to do that cuz if you lose the ball you are fucked. That is the difference between playing RW and RB.
fredarzani1 true
Where's he supposed to go? Down the line there's four players in front of him. There's not alot of space in the middle either 🤷♂️
fredarzani1 agreed he repeatedly does this. Never forces the move always takes a passing option. Every game is the same. He beats his cones but won’t beat actual players. That’s why he can’t make it to the top.

How do you get stronger to hold the ball and get faster? What exercise should I do?
Let’s gooo matty only up from here boyy
Why do whip less crosses as a fullback, as that is what Alexander arnold and most other fullbacks do?
Q. Are higher reps better or increased weight better for a footballer?

This was by far your best game
When ur defending and running down the line towards the corner flag, should u try and block the cross or wait to see if they cut back. I never know what to do in this situation because I don’t want them to fake the cross and cut in on me
fake stab and feel them out, regardless it should slow them down

(oh and never shut your eyes or roll your head when you attempt to block the cross because then you won't be able to see if he actually does cut back... its milliseconds!)
Tackle them like Fernadinho and take the red card

sonder u need to work hard and try to look for a team around your area and when u get onto the team work on weaknesses
