It's weird how men back then used to sound like the announcer at the beginning. Nowadays I don't hear anybody that sounds like that just weird to me.
(3) Theon Wright, in his book, In Search Of The Lindbergh Baby, notes that there was a spiritualist church in The Bronx, and three members of its congregation were Doctor John Condon, the intermediary who acted for Lindbergh in the dealings with the kidnappers, Violet Sharp, a British-born maid at the Morrow estate, and Isidor Fisch, the German-Jew who later met Hauptmann, went into a business arrangement with him in which he fleeced Hauptmann, and then left the shoe box containing the gold certificates with him for safekeeping. These three therefore knew one another, and Anthony Scaduto, in his book Scapegoat, wrote of a witness who saw Condon, Sharp and Fisch together entering a cafe. Violet Sharp would have been able to tip off the kidnap gang about the Lindberghs staying over into the new week at the house.

(2) A couple of days later, the police were called to a bank concerning a gold certificate which a bank clerk had identified as being from the ransom haul. The police inspected the note and noted the license number written on the margin. A check of the vehicle register identified the car's owner as Richard Hauptmann, 1279 East 222nd Street, The Bronx. The police arrested Hauptmann on September 19, and the search of his house and garage led to the discovery of nearly one third of the ransom haul, all in gold certificates.

Innocent or guilty, Hauptmann was still entitled to a fair trial, and the trial was about as fair as the Spanish Inquisition.
Why was Hauptmann on the stand?
They never proved he committed this crime so this prosecuting attorney had to be a democrat because he doesn't care what the
I believe that he was innocent, especially after learning that he turned down a $90K offer to fess up to it. Why would he go through the trouble of a ransom kidnap just to turn down a financial offer in the end if he was really guilty? I read up on a lot of other information that points the arrows at Charles Lindbergh himself being the culprit
