Speer was very clever. Rather than attempting to exculpate himself, he associated his case with other long term issues which interested even the Soviets. His goal was to creating some empathy in the Tribuanal for himself, in hopes of escaping the fate of his colleagues. It worked. Yes, clever man.

indeed he fooled them with his apology , for things that he was "responsible " for .
Only some years later( the 70s )did it come out that he KNEW about the concentration camps , he hoodwinked them and got to live his life .

During a 70’s interview, Speer was asked if the same standards were placed against him as they were against Streicher, he wouldn’t be spared, he said, “If that is the explanation for my 20 year sentence, then I am pleased I have made such a good impression.”
He probably did it but honestly, if I had to choose between an intelligent architect and a rabid anti-Semite who published a semi pornographic newspaper I would probably go for the former.

*First of all it was more:*
A recent study by German historian Rüdiger Overmans found that the German military casualties were 5.3 million, including 900,000 men conscripted from outside of Germany's 1937 borders, in Austria and in east-central Europe, higher than those originally reported by the German high command.[1][2][3]
The USSR's casualties were around 27 million but it was mostly civilians. The amount of soldiers that died was like 12 million.

A documentry that apparently tells the german side of the war. If its true or not is up for debate but it would be cool to get historians to tackle its contents. Thing is, it gets deleted off of youtube quite often. If its fake it does have some information that is very important. For example, hitlers speeches with translations. On youtube you can only find clips and often then not, no translation and comments disabled. Anyway check it out. If its fake it would be destroyed in an open debate, if its real it would be very important. ww2truth.com/europa-the-last-battle/

That's because the allies were scared of what Rudolf Hess could say, if he had been allowed out of prison and that would most likely change the outlook on how people would view the reason on ww2. Bearing in mind on the way he got caught early in the war and was never behind any atrocities of the Jews. Yet the allies were scared on what he could reveal if let out. Why would a 90 odd year old man who couldn't raise his arms above his head, yet hung himself within proximity of guards. War as many secrets even to this day yet if truth was allowed then there is no money. War is business was then and is now

    • @erupendragon7376
      @erupendragon7376 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Trevor Gsrdiner Dresden was bomb on the eve of a soviet advance over the city. Dresden was a fortified city, and the railway central for all German forces arming against the advance on the east. The city was also a an industrial center building steel bearings used for all sectors of the war economy. Finally no more than 10,000 civilians died during the bombing of Dresden.
It is interesting to know that out of the 1.5 million German civilians who died in WW2 some 300,000 died due to allied bombing. More than half a million died by the hands of the German government.
Did the Soviets commit war crimes? Hell yes! Did the other allies? Of course they did! But out of all the war crimes committed by the Allies, as well as immoral actions that are not legally “war crimes”: Dresden should not be one of them. Dresden is sadly used as a banner for neonazies and holocaust deniers. Do you want allied war crimes? Suggest you look at the Bengal famine or at the shit show the US caused in the pacific near the end. Please don’t mention Dresden.

Horse shit. Hitler called on Churchill to stop his war on civilians for months before giving up and finally responded in kind. Allies bombed every major german city into rubble by the end, killing over 1 million german civilians in the process. Then there's also the millions of civilians that died after the surrender from starvation and murder by soviet troops.

They demonstrate and honest rebuttal with reasonable expectations that any of us would, accepting their fates, and wishing the world and their countrymen to learn to be better. They know they are going to be executed, so they know there are no words to save them.
Amazing how powerful 300+ movies can be about a subject that almost no one has any real education in. Truly, movies are more powerful than facts. You just cannot accept that you are the puppet of the Universe(God) , are governed by it's laws that NO ONE can avoid it. You say there is no God but you are formed in the shape its laws governed, need air too live because of its laws. Even the fucking evolution is governed by the laws of the Universe. That is your God and he has no mercy for you or anyone else. Saying there is no God(no supreme power) is the frustration of living through this and IT being in control of everything you do.

Someone should have done psychological testing and studied the causes of psychological dysfunctions of leaders like this (for they are not alone in history), so that it *never happens again*. Never.

What a farsical witch hunt this trial was, none of them received a fair trial and all were tortured, the allied armies were just as brutal and culpable in this war as the Germans but you wouldn't know that if you look around, as a brit i felt embarrased by these speeches and this whole event, specifically the hangings, what sort of thing is that to do to a human being, we shouldn't have sunk to that level, we should have just stayed out of that war and left the Europeans to it, shame on us all.

None. What are you smoking pal? Stay out of the war? Do you think hitler would of just let Britain carry on as if nothing was happening? Could you just sit back and do nothing knowing what the Nazis were doing to those poor people in the camps?
Do you really think that these Germans on trial here were innocent? Do you think that those people in the camps got a fair hearing or a trial at all? NO. I don’t think you are a true BRIT at all ! Maybe a bit of crout in you?

I always find it amusing that even a slight suggestion that history could have taken a different turn, or that we were, at times just as brutal or that bombing cities of innocent families with fire bombs was a crime, descends into verbal abuse. If you want to counter an argument with facts, figures opinions and discussion that is fine. Bring it on. I think we should have accepted the peace offer and kept out of the war, if Germany went further than was detailed, then put pressure on them. Instead we went to the aid of Poland, which in a few years was swallowed up by the Soviet Union. By the way the Russian Purges weren't exactly pretty, why didn't we do anything then?

They lost the war. That says it all. Of course they don’t get a fair trial. Of course they will be found guilty. The victors always choose the way the aftermath goes. Maybe next time they should win the war they start.

I've read all transcripts (highly doubt their authenticity because zionist scumbags changed a lot, originals are in Tel Aviv for most part) available and case of Joulius Streicher was best example of this. Western world and their hypocrisy is unparalleled. Truth is self sustainable so day will come when those responsible for horrors which whole world has seen will pay the price. Poland started that which will snowball into great thing i hope. Enough lies.

Why the hell was Wilhelm Keitel put to death. He was just following orders and even said that he was not put in a position to have made such choices. We are all guilty to some point, but I don't agree with certain judgements.

Just because you are told to do something it doesn’t mean you should do it. When someone tells you to kill a man and you do it, yes, the one who told you to do it is responsible for it, but you did it too

Keitel cosigned and passed on Hitler's 'commando order,' which commanded the German military to commit war crimes.
