  • HeyHey,
I think i finally found the right setup for me. I feel comfortable now with the Dji Osmo Action on my helmet with the mic place right in front of my mouth protected by some acoustic foam from to much input volume which cause the membrane to distort a bit when shouting. (i may check out some more expensive microphones and see how the quality difference is) Also my new Insta 360 GO is so practicql and easy to use. Check it out in the video.
In this video i did some shots with my Mavic Mini but I'm already super excited cause i bought the new DJI MINI 2 and i can't wait to get it out in the field!
I hope you enjoy this video and I see you in the nex one!
    Cheers Marc

Thanks, super helpful. I was looking for something that would reduce the mic volume but wasn't sure if this little volume control would do the trick. Now I know, and it's already ordered!

Finally someone using an Osmo, video quality looks spot on! By the way, where have you got those luggage mounts from? My Dominator only has the standard top box mount, and some more cargo space would be nice to have. Anyway you're doing great, keep up the good work!

Thanks mate, appreciate it! The OSMO is great, still using it but not for the helmet, I have the insta360 go 2 on it now, just because it’s so tiny! You can check on my other videos;) anyways, the luggage rack I bought on eBay from a guy who built it himself for his domi. But there are some systems out there, check for luggage rack online. Have a great day 🤙🏼

Voilà! That’s exactly what I think they did in Long Way Up except with Sony action cams mounted to the side of the helmet. They had remotes mounted to their handlebars to start and stop the video any time. Another thing I was suggested is the Zoom F2 but that means syncing in post.

@@MarcTravels Thanks Marc. It would be interesing to hear about your different mounts, angles, solutions and even your comments why it is so from your point of view. Plan to go for Insta as my second cam, but I am not decided which one.

@@RRRRefuelRideRace alrighty, also plan a q&a live chat soon, where I can answer a lot of your questions. The go2 is a great gadget really! I gave Maree one for Christmas and even tho she has no clue about cameras or tech like that, she loves it and uses it🙌🏼 I always thought of getting a real 360 cam but to be honest I really don’t have use for it, it would be just taking up space to be honest 😅

This is good info, I also want to capture some sound when I ride my motorbike and also my EUC's. I have been on the fence about the gopro hero 9 or the Osmo as I need to front facing camera. Many thanks and think the Osmo is the one for the price.

Yes the osmo works great, easy to use and decent quality. Right now I’m also working on another setup, let’s see if it also works out. Will do a video, too!🤗 See you 👋🏼🏍

Hi Marc, it sounds great from the helmet but what Mic are you using in it? Is it the samsung that you cut the buds off? Or another?

Thanks for posting this. I just purchased the Osmo Action with the Cynova audio adapter.
My audio is even more difficult than yours. I ride an 2020 BMW S1000RR superbike that frequently goes at much higher speeds and where the windscreen doesn’t shield the helmet except when in full tuck position. My Shoei X-14 sport helmet also tends to be a bit noisier than what you use.
My audio setup is a Giant Squid mic placed under the cheek-pad within a dead cat near my mouth. It works well until I hit higher speeds with wind noise. The loudness, probably combined with the software wind-noise suppression, totally garbles the voice audio. This is what you addressed with an in-line volume control. I plan to buy this (www.amazon.com/Inline-Control-3-5MM-Headphones-Black/dp/B008DJTB32/ref=sr_1_4), which appears comparable to the G-Plug you have.
Do you change the volume dial position for different conditions? If not, have you measured the resistance of the volume dial at that optimal point? Later I may simplify the setup by just soldering a small in-line resister of that impedance.
I also need to play with mic type, position and dead cat placement to see if I can reduce the wind noise. I don’t appear to have sufficient mouth/chin-area room for the acoustic foam you use, so I may need to continue using the cheek pad, which is 2 cm from my mouth edge.
Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks again.
