I met Fred once in I agree with Neil here what a great bloke, I spoke to him for about 10mins, it was during a TV shoot at a railway. It was my Dad who started speaking to him I was very young and can remember talking to him. I wasn't shy at all though he was so kind
Fred was an absolute engineer!! despite what this bloke is spouting. His understanding of engineering skill of many a field was 2nd to none. he didn’t need the qualifications! A true craftsman n balls of steel stood this later day genius apart!! RIP a Bolton legend!
sadly all of his workshop tools and stationary steam engine have been sold off the stuff in the back garden should have got going again but they couldn't rise enough money to have a new boiler made

''Fred'' A Ledgend, a Gentleman, and his one liners were unstoppable!! 😂 Watching him for years in other place lived.. and still watching him documentarys on TH-cam till now Oct 2021 in another location. He will always be a True leader in Everyone's mind , especially mine ! ✅ 🇮🇪
