"Comparison is the thief of joy." Not only slinging epic riffs and demos, but a little wisdom on the side now? 🤘🙏💯 Thanks for showing us what we all wanted to know: "How does Blumes measure-up on GUITAR?!" The answer seems to be what we suspected: gloriously preserved bottom end and 3 differently saturated "overdrives" for days.
I pre-ordered one the other day. Will sound great with bass, of course. I also tune down to C#. It ought to make a difference. I have the special cranker but tend to stack it to get more fuzzy buzz. This might be a single pedal solution.
hey man great demo, best quality guitar demos ive seen in the tube. I wonder when in saturation settings, how well and defined will a arpegiated riff at the 3 heavier strings, on low tuned guitar will sound. Did you try sth like that? Cheers
love that you showed Blumes next to Plumes. i wondered how it compared. Blumes def has a stronger low end but still manages to keep the mids and highs. i feel that’s always a struggle with any sort of OD, fuzz, distortion. might have to add this to my list of pedals i “need”. as well as a baritone 😂😅
Yeah, thought it made sense to let them go head to head. I was honestly shocked by how different they are. Happy you found the comparison helpful. And yes, you definitely need a Baritone. There's few things more fun than just unleashing a massive wall of distortion with a baritone.
Thank you for this great and inspiring video. Instead of buying the Blumes, I will buy the Plumes. I really like the sounds of both effect pedals, but I think the Plumes will be great with my hybrid fuzz (DROP / DED Fuzz, from Analogwise Pedals) that I will blend together. 😊
Happy to hear you enjoyed the demo. Plumes is definitely great for giving fuzz pedals a tighter and more mid-focused sound, so I think you've made a great choice there.
It's indeed really fine for drop-tuned destruction. But yeah, all of the low-end saturation can detract a bit from the cutting clarity that guitarists are used to. Totally cool that it's not for you, I love how unhinged this thing can get though :) And thanks for the sweet words about the video. Means a lot!
Sure. I didn't want to though. I'm not a bass player. Wanted to show this on guitar and baritone instead within the musical context that I roam around in. There's plenty of bass demos of it out there on youtube, if you want to hear it on bass. Happy hunting :)
This is going to become the best friend of the people riding on the recent baritone / bass vi trend
And what a good and deep friend it is. Can only recommend! 🎸
@@thepedalzone as a bass vi enjoyer I couldn't agree more. Awesome video!
I wasn't particularly thrilled by hearing it with basses, but wow I'm lovin' the sounds with the baritone. Thanks for the video
Cheers, man! Baritones are just so much fun. Especially with plenty of gain 😊

Blumes definitely pushes some serious low end! Love this demo! As always, your playing is spectacular 🤘
Thanks a ton!
Just got mine. Worth every penny.
Happy to hear you dig it. It's a killer drive pedal. Way heavier and saturated than I initially thought it would be, but retains clarity beautifully.
I think Plumes and Blumes complete each other!
It's a solid saturation team :)
One more great review my friend...and this Blumes looks absolut amazing just like the original Plumes! Big hug 👌🏻👊🏻🔥
Thanks, man! Means a lot that you enjoyed the demo :)

Happy you enjoyed the demo. Means a lot to me. Arpeggios will sound very clear and defined with this pedal all over the neck. Definitely give it a go!

@@thepedalzone i’m a big deftones fan, i’ve been eyeing the Stephen Carpenter signature for awhile. maybe i need that and a blumes 🙃🤔.
10/10 demo.
Very sweet of you. Thank you!! ❤️
8:50 I still remember that riff from the Chief Disruptor, it's just too awesome :D
Thank you! It's a fun little riff :)
WOW! 1:30 that sounds fantastic!
Thanks! It's a filthy pedal, so it requires some filthy riffs 😊
I hear mostly noise behind the melodies. And its fn awsome! 🤘🏼
Heck yeah! This thing can definitely create some huge saturated walls of sound
Thanks for this , very much appreciated 🙏 👏.
Super stoked you enjoyed it. Means a lot!
I've been waiting for your demo since the day the Blumes dropped! I love how messy it gets! Maybe Blumes should stand for Boosted Plumes. It's angry!
It definitely has some bite to it, that's for sure! 💪
blumes sounds like the default 'distortion button' sound cheap amplifiers used to have in the 2000s.
Sweet sweet nostalgia 😂
Deftones tones instantly🫶🏻🔝
Awesome to hear that the tones transported you there. Deftones rule!

It seems fine if you're a heavy baritone player, but otherwise it sounds very muddy to me. Not my cup of tea. Great video, though!

...and you couldn't borrow a bass guitar to demo this pedal?
Sure. I didn't want to though. I'm not a bass player. Wanted to show this on guitar and baritone instead within the musical context that I roam around in. There's plenty of bass demos of it out there on youtube, if you want to hear it on bass. Happy hunting :)
Either this pedal is crap or this demo is, or both.
Asking all the hard questions. I hope you find your answer, my friend :)
I’d say that the pedal doesn’t appeal to you because Stefan is an amazing guitarist. Check out some of his other videos.
the noise is an acquired sound effect
