As someone who has also owned both the Vtwin and V4 Tuono, as well as the new MT-10 and new R1... The Aprilia is the cooler bike. It's the bike you want to see in your garage, and its the bike you want to be seen ON. That it is also a sublime ride, makes it even better.
But the reliability of a small boutique Italian brand, just isn't there. Same way with Italian cars. Gorgeous, exotic, sexy... but like an Italian supermodel, its high cost, high maintenance and temperamental. If the owner is willing to put up with that for the cool factor, its a good choice.
I love the Euro brands. Owned 9 Ducati, 2 Aprilia and 7 Triumphs plus a KTM, not including all my wife's bikes... But I am currently on a Yamaha and a Kawi... And its for a reason, right? What the Japanese lack in sexiness, they make up for in performance, running costs and reliability. The MT-10 motor does give it a lot of charm and character though, that most Japanese bikes don't have. I agree with your assessment on the MT-10's performance. It's a step down in top end power from the Tuono for sure. But on a twisty road you would never know it... It's geared shorter, so the 150hp or so it has at the wheel(flashed), it uses very efficiently.
I did dump a couple grand into the suspension, so yeah, your advice to get the SP model with Ohlins is on point. It's what I would do if I were to do it over. At the time, nobody local had them in stock and I am an impatient and impulsive person. haha
Awesome video and you are ONE SUB away from hitting that gate to start monetizing! Keep it up!

Your honesty about your bike helped me eliminate it from my 2nd bike consideration. My wife would kill me if I told her I needed to spend that kind of money on my “toy” bike for maintenance. I’ve ridden one and while it was amazing and had me cackling, that would come to an abrupt end when something like that comes up. You wanna play hard, be prepared to pay hard. Wonder if the Superduke 1290 is any less expensive?

Yeah it wasn’t pleasant. They all have their problems but I know guys w 50k trouble free miles on a Tuono. Another guy rides hard and has 2 of them, swears by them. I love mine but I’m riding it differently now

To bad to hear about your beloved Tuono have problem.
    Anyway nice video 👍🏼
I actually bought an 2022 Yamaha MT-10 sp.
Did test ride tuono v4 factory before 2 times but somethings bothered me.
Heat from engine in low speed.
    Jerky in low speed.
    To aggresive ridning position.
And some vibrations in some rpm.
It was a missile with Nice suspension 😊
Mt10 sp is more like tuono v4 in The handling/suspension.
    Little easier turnin.
    Absolutly more comfy.
    And more hooliganish.
    Stockbikes.
    My thoughts.
    Aprilia track/road.
    Yamaha road/track.
God luck now with your tuono 👍🏼

All the points you raised are right on… and I have fixed two of the three. The jerky low speed stuff you felt is fixed with either the race ECU or even better, a Gabro flash what I have. My Tuono is silky smooth down low with no jerkiness whatsoever. The heat is something I only ever experience in traffic the few times I am in traffic. So I try to not be in traffic very often on this bike! It’s somewhat noticeable but not over bearing in my opinion.
For comfort I put some 20 mm risers for a little more upright seating. There’s a huge improvement in comfort and ride ability/turn in with these simple risers. Much improved to the point I can ride all day and have no aches or pains. The stock seat on both bikes is extremely comfortable. I felt like they were dead even in comfort. The difference is, the MT 10 doesn’t need risers so technically it wins. I but I can tell you rode both and were paying attention. Excellent evaluation and I agree w you totally!

I got to ride my brother's MT-10 and I was very impressed. So much so, that my intention is to get a MT-09 SP as soon as funding will allow...or if I can get this one kidney sold.
