My Own Private Disaster At Polecat Training Center
It was the best day, and the worst day all wrapped into one. Absolutely love this track Polecat Training Center! It's more like riding your local mountain roads than it is riding a track.… It reminded me of a place we ride in Georgia called Wolfpen gap… Or 75 north going out of Helen. It had that feel. I will definitely return later this year with Evolve GT (E2 Intermediate group) as they are the only organization that holds track days at this track for Motorcycles.
You'll see in the video… Great surface, clean track with fun, technical sections and nice elevation change, mixed with me spacing out at the end of the day and wreaking havoc on my self esteem lol...but if you've never been here, I highly recommend it. Enjoy the ride on 2 wheels at Polecat Training Center!
Thank you @EvolveGT for coming to this gem of a track!

I wanted to give some context to this video. The guy in the back (Eric) I had not formally met before. That day, he was riding with the guy who's following me. I have ridden with him before, and he's a good rider. I was not aware of what the other guys level of experience or inexperience was fully. I knew he was riding at a slower pace coming over the mountain, so we were taking it easy going ...

Ryan and I pick up Cody. This was my first time meeting and riding with Cody. He lives in the area and believe it or not, says he never knew about all the twisty roads up here....says he just rode dirt mostly. I was shocked!! So he doesn't have much twisty experience according to him, but he was still able to be right in there most of the run. As I followed him I could see a couple clues that h...

We try and keep up with a very relaxed Antprilia who is not even pushing or riding hard at all. Seems like it should be easy but just know, his relaxed pace is faster than most peoples normal "lets get it" pace, This guy is a dragon artist! Nothing crazy fast here but if you like the Dragon youll like this. And also one of the last times it was recorded prior to the new pavement they are now pu...

Incredible First Ride Day On The BMWR1200RT : SoCal Part 2
Also yeah some days are just not made for riding. If I feel it's not going to be good or something happens that normally isn't I just return and call it a day. Better this way than getting into an accident. If something like this happens with the yellow line I wouldn't be able to conentrate on the race anymore and just focus on not making more mistakes and that is definitely a recipe for even more mistakes. At least for me. I would stop immediately and ride home. lol
13:20 what did he say? No....?
He just asked if I knew why he pulled me in… Which I did not know at the time, but once he explained it, I totally understood
@@Antmanmoto thanks! "You know why I pulled you in"... loool sometimes those short and fast sentences are hard for me to understand. Now it's all clear! haha
Awesome. I have done a ton of rain riding. November, here we get 60-70mph winds. You get pretty tired fighting winds after a couple of hours. Ride safe, man.
Aw Man, Shit happens. A bit embarrassing, but I'm sure you learned your lesson.
Absolutely. Fortunately, nobody really knew what was going on but me and a couple of the track marshals. But I share it as maybe the way to remind us all to pay attention to detail when we're on the track. I think I get a bit laxed.
Watching with music is great!
Antman, I was watching and getting a video of you that run. I was watching and said Noooooo Antman pit pit pit noooooo oh nooooo Antman. I was by the tractor filming you🥲🥲
HAAAA😂 we need to hook up com system Chris. I'll get you a Sena for your baseball hat 😂
@Antmanmoto I got one on my street helmet. I can just wear it, and you know where I will be next time🤣🤣👍🏼✌🏼🤙🏼
@@Antmanmoto or I can hold up a sign that says "Pit In Pit In" 🤣🤣🤣
Oh no you didn't! 😅 Sick track, I'm very much looking forward to riding this one.
It's like riding the dragon!! look at Evolve GT website for dates
I think he went a little overboard with the way he kept drilling it into you.
Yeah, but if somebody runs out like that and gets injured or killed… I totally understand it
@Antmanmoto he was like that with everyone. He got Optimus, MotoManx like that two. He gave everyone 💩 like that. He just wanted everyone safe, just bad educate. I saw it all weekend, but after talking with him about a few tips and tricks, he just talks that way. F this F that, you gotta Fn do it this way..... but after all, a good guy.
That track looks AMAZING! GF and I need to time this with a dragon trip for sure. don't beat yourself up, we all have off days. I sat out last session a couple weeks ago because I felt myself getting dumb after a long weekend, I didn't get flagged, but it was better to just call it a day.
The track is great. I only spent five sessions on it. I'd love to spend an entire weekend. Because day one you need to figure out connecting the dots properly, and day two you could really just rail!!!
Great tutorial, thank you. I bought my Rabaconda a month ago but have yet to use it, my front tire (Michelin Commander 3) on my '06 Yamaha Stratoliner S is nearing the end of it's time on my bike...
It'll take you a couple of times. I practiced with an old tire before I used it on a new tire. Just follow the TH-cam video tutorial as you do it… Pause it often and rewind it. It becomes very easy just like anything else.
After 38 years of MC riding, I have three major rules that I follow: !. Don't do stupid shit. 2.Ride your own ride, at your skill/experience level. (never attempt to keep up with the more experienced riders, ever) 3. Stay away from riders that do stupid shit. (Like the rider dragging that knee?...WTF?)) That about covers it.
Some people drag knee, some don't… To each each his own as long as you're in control is all I care about....and he is in plenty control with good lines.
That was awesome
Damn good riding. But if you slide off the street there you are fooked.
YES!!!
We have the same bike!!! Moore Mafia did my tune as well. That tune absolutely woke her up without killing my mpg. … and the way her idle chops while warming her up makes it sound like she’s cammed
Did this dude just jump that shit?
Yes, he did… Was pretty cool to watch. We're going to go back and do some in depth filming there.
@@Antmanmoto wild, ive never seen that before. Go for it!
Aprilla, now that’s a machine.
This is why you have an experienced rider as TEC (Tail End Charlie).
This is awesome. Is this a closed road for racing and or stunts or some kind of event? Looks rather dangerous for the driver license if a cop is around. lol
It's all AI 🤭
@@Antmanmoto lol 😁🤭🤙
Riding like you are on a track in a race is not for the road, not only do you look like fools but you put others in danger along with yourself.
Well, nobody was riding like they're on a track in any of this footage, but I agree
Surely you put the new rider in the middle so you can keep watch. If something happens you are there for him. You left him behind for ages and didn't even notice. :( I wouldn't want to ride with you.
I did not know the person. Nor did I know his level of experience. He was with the guy behind me. It was only after I found out … Butyeah it's hindsight, the guy behind me should have been last.
Going at the pace you were going is begging for a disaster. You go into a blind turn hanging off the bike and there is a service truck taking up the whole road with an oncoming car, you will be done. It will be over. Hanging off the bike on the track can be done because you can half way trust nobody will be in your way. On a public road that is almost never the case. IF you are hanging off the bike, It will take twice the work to avoid a wreck if something is blocking your path.
I agree. Nobody was hanging off anything really. And the pace was very chill here.
New riders should not be in the back. Unless it's a reckless group, which no one should ride with. I think 2nd is best. Someone riding lead nice and easy to show lines to follow and someone behind to watch over, and then provide feedback later.
Well, it wasn't a riding class, and I wasn't aware. I did not know the person. But we were taking it pretty slow.
Everything about this situation was dangerous. The knee thing was hard to watch. I thought that was Eric and waited for him to go off the road. Put new riders in the front, and have safe riding practices yourself before modeling unsafe practices for newbies. I hope Eric is ok
Yeah, he was fine. It was a gentle kind of a slide off the right side of the road. Bike was minimal issue and he was able to ride home. Next time, if there is a next time, I will spend some time with him now that I know About him. But I really didn't know.
Is that a 690? The back looks a bit skinny
No, it's a 450... next time I will be closer I promise!
@@Antmanmoto those wheelies out of the corners are sweet. 450 is way nuttier than my DRZ400
How old are you? Just curious...
I've been riding for 40 years... can we just leave it at that lol
@@Antmanmoto LOL ok. I asked because I'm 58 and just got into track days but have had two crashes two days in a row and am starting to think I'm too old for this which on one hand is a relief, and the other is devastating.
I have one recommendation that I'll pass on for when new riders are in the group - let them lead and help them understand that they need to ride at their level of comfort. Lastly, even if they're going slower than you want, don't pass them. It'll trigger the pride inside them and they'll want to try and keep up. Next thing you know, you'll be helping your new buddy out of a ditch, or worse.
The Knee dragging is for the track, and totally unnecessary and dangerous on the road. You tend to concentrate on touching the ground with your knee as oppose to what you need to concentrate on :D which is where you need to go and safety
Eric should be riding a Grom for a year, that always help :D keeping pace with any type of rider is the most dangerous thing, everyone should rider at their own pace. ride your ride, not someone else is the safest way for everyone.
Nice roads! Respect ✌❤
The best! I've been riding up there for over 20 years and still every time, it feels like Christmas Eve the day before!
If he was on the same hp bike you would have left behind by alot. He is on a Dual sport conversion
Yeah, he's a really good rider… carries Hella corner speed. And I kind of stay back purposely a little bit, but he's definitely quick.
Exactly, no questions
The more of these I watch, the more I want to move south..... just not enough track days or curvy roads in Michigan :/
Yeah I live in the north of Germany. I have to ride 100km to get to semi nice curvy roads. The south is heaven.
I like the light smoked windscreen, I've got the solid black on mine and it's problems for the camera lol..... might be worth the $100 to swap mine!
Glad Eric was ok man! Got my 2024 RSV4 Factory Ultra Gold delivered from Italy yesterday, got rearsets on last night, just need to break her in etc. Let me or Antprilia know when you be back up to the dragon and we will meet and rjde!
I'm glad Eric is okay and the bike rode home. You have to ride your ride, I understand you don't want to lose your buddies, but don't ride their ride. Let them go, and you can meet back up. ✌🏼
Another wannabe race rider risking innocent peoples lives, you out to be on a race track, or are or you just a pretender?
Nobody’s life was at risk Karen 😂 we do track days and mountain runs, when on the mountain pace if obviously dialed back and safety is our first concern.
@@ryantodack6089 Cutting cars off in turns, crossing the double yellow, excessive speed...yea safety is your first concern. You both are clowns that give good riders bad names. With any luck you two will turn in to a statistic.
Stay in your gated community boomer
Buddy this is pretty tame....trust me. And don't you know AI when you see it?!?🧐
That Motard rider is ANYTHING but a pretender, I’d love to have half his skill….
My kind of ride 😂
Im tired just watching the footage.
Right! This dude is like a pinball and a pinball machine! I can't wait for the Rides. We're going to do this year....stay tuned because we're just getting started.
The old banshee hooligans lol
He’s smooth, thought you would make it up on the exits!
Which you did, nice!
Riding with him is a mind game because you know if you can still see him it's only because he's toying with you and just not even pushing at all. I'd like to try to really run with him though to see how many turns I could last… Probably only a couple before he's gone!
I wish I could see something like that going to CVS. 😅 i don't even see anyone doing wheelies around here. I so need to learn how, but I'm scared 😢
My pal Sylvia out in California teaches a wheelie class where it's full proof… You will know how to wheelie by the end of the day
@Antmanmoto I saw that in one of your videos. I thought you were in Georgia, so I looked it up half way through the video and was like... Dang it!!!!! I probably won't be out there anytime soon 🥲🥲
I keep looking at one but not as a only bike!
It's my only bike, has been for like two years. But I don't like having only one bike because you put so many miles on so fast. Definitely have a second or third bike preferably something you can tour on...
Bro was like hello mf's
FR😂😂😂
Well, of course it's too fast.
Enjoyed the clutch ups 👊✊️✊️
I gotta start doing more of those!
Is it possible to just use the upmap whit the motorcycle stock?
Yes, he has a tune for a completely stock bike. It just gets rid of some of the restrictions built into the throttle and through the ECU and I think it might keep the servo valve open at all times. Definitely a pretty big difference between stock and just the basic flash through Gabro. He has a tune for every configuration of the bike.
That's a very fun road. I'm about 45 minutes West of it, in Blue Ridge and McCaysville. Have fun, but ride safe, sir.
Thanks, you too!
