I really enjoy to listen your podcast especially this episode, because it discusses about the healthy eating. So many things that i learned from your podcast besides the vocabulary i also know the differences of pronounciation UK and USA. Thanks a bunch!
Hi Kat and Mark, great you talk about trending topics like eating healthier. I think you're both right, so the most effective for long term is to add tweaks gradually, here and there, and incorporate excercise. In few weeks, lifestyle will be dramatically better for a good quality of life in the long run. Thanks and blessings.
Thanks a lot again! Absolutely fantastic! I just crave your videos, guys! As for healthy eating that a really hard nut to crack but step by step I try to do my best. Cutting out all the fizzy drinks wasn't difficult at all becouse I never liked them. I also switched over to whole grain bread and drink my coffee and tea sugar free. Then I usually stock the fridge with whole foods and finally I try to get in some veg with every meal. Please let me know if I made any mistakes! Love you, you are better than a nice slice of pizza!
Haha thanks for such a lovely message! Being called better than pizza is truly an honour 🎖 😊 . Well done with all your sentences and thank you also for sharing, it sounds like you have made a lot of healthy changes! The only tiny change I would make is in this sentence: - As for healthy eating, that [is] a really hard nut to crack..." Everything else was perfect! 👏
Thank you for the wonderful lesson! I have found a lot of new words and expressions in the topic like yo-yo dieting, fad diet, processed food, little tweaks and some more. It also was interesting and useful to understand better as trends, as the usual habits in both countries. And these small differences in pronunciation as well.
oh, really nice topic for today my two brilliant English teachers Kat and Mark. So, starting today, I will swap eating junk foods for healthier food produce.
Good morning😊. I am still yo yo dieting, but I have decided to go for a few tweaks here and there. Hopefully, I will see some good results in the long run. Eating a bit less, working out more without stressing out but doing it consistently. It sounds like a good plan. Let's see if I stick to eat.
Wow great sentences and thank you for sharing! I agree it's all about finding a balance between having fun and taking care of yourself - which is easier said than done!
Hello Mark and Kat, Thank you so much for the amazing program. I love so much your TH-cam, every episode helps me understand the difference between British and American English. I obtained a lot from your program. ❤
Thanks a lot for the helpful stuff! I'll try to avoid eating greasy and oily food and drink less fizzy drinks. I used to eat tons of chocolate but since the beginning of this year I cut on it. I do not put sugar into my tea at all. It trains my will power.😊😅😂😂😂
Thank you for participation of google and all of you , hope fully I can divide my time between my busy schedule as a manual worker who needs to work to earn a living . I am not a figure who should trouble the wider community ( the world) this priority should be given to those who have Made many. Contributions to the lives of the. people or the world community.
Hello! I liked this topic a lot, very interesting, thanks! I have never gone on a diet, because I understand that there is necessary to have a balance eating fads, proteins and cabs. It can be really difficult to tweak yourself on healthy eating, but as you said small changes makes result in the future. I deliberately refused from alcohol a year ago and try to cut down the amount of fizzy drinks and greasy food, but sometimes it is hard and just a cereal and salad can be tasteless and then I treat myself to sweet treats. Overall I opt for healthy eating to get in more nutritious food and have more energy.
Wow thanks so much for sharing and practising so many phrases from the episode! I agree that it's always important to treat yourself every now and then during a diet and to listen to your body!
Hello! First of all I would like to say thanks a lot ❤and I have one question about cut out and cutting out. I understood that cut out it’s completely remove something. What about cutting out? It’s like process , I’m trying remove but not yet?
Good question! The form you use depends on the grammar tense you use and what you want to express. The past tense of 'cut' is also 'cut'. So when we changed our diet or lifestyle by stopping eating something, we can say: - Last year I cut out sugary drinks. - About 2 months ago I cut out red meat from my diet. But if you are still making changes, still adapting, experimenting, or trying to gradually change your diet at the moment, then you can use the presenting continuous which is: "I am cutting down on...". For example: - I am cutting down on caffeine this month. - We are cutting down on cards because have a beach vacation next month. *OR* if you know exactly how long you have been trying to change your diet, you can use the Present perfect continuous: "I have been cutting down on ..." For example: - I have been cutting down on alcohol over the last few months. - Recently I have been cutting down on fast food, and I've been feeling much better. So choose the one that is the most accurate for your situation! Hope that helps 🙏
You are both great to deliver the information, thanks a lot we need something related to sport specially soccer game if you please. You are both great again
Excellent lesson! Plus The advice you give was so useful! Guys, I know that somewhere you said it but now I can’t find the right part in the video : dig in…it’s one …but I can’t remember / is it a separable phrasal verb in tbis context? Also..please ..what’s the verb you used that is what you say just before you start eating: it’s not “serve food” like ChatHPT told me !! I remember this is not the one you used ..
Hi there! In our Cooking and Eating Phrasal Verb class we introduced "dig in" for a common way to start your meal. "Let's dig in!" It's common to say alone in this phrase, however, if you want to add an object, we'd probably say dig in to or dig into the food. Dig it in would give it a different meaning. This is when we usual a shovel to dig, dig the shovel into the ground, dig it in. When we start a meal, we often say Dig in or Bon Appetit like in French or we can simple say, Enjoy!
@@highlevellistening Thank you so much! Now i understand the use of dig in better. And...nope the other verb I meant was: dish up!! 😊 and I found it in another video of you later!! I knew I'd heard it from you but did not remember in which episode.
I am a wary person about what I eat. Honestly, sometimes I may stray but oftemtimes ı get back on the house and try to stay on track of my healthy eating journey. I am raising a 5 years old kid, since the birth, we have been staying away from packaged, processed food. Sometimes ı feel a bit pity for him when he meets someone and says he has never tasted chocolate. But as a cautious mom, ı am trying to do my best and offer him some healthier alternatives. Like chocolate with dates, no coloring, no additives... nowadays, we are swabbing out cowmilk for almond milk, and milk is his favourite drink. After trying the almond milk, he said " it is a bit different but ı will get used to it😢" ı feel so lucky to have such an easygoing kid, ı cut out his favourite drink and he doesnt make a peep 😢

Hi, kat. How you doing? During the episode you said : " . . . and since l meal prepped, things are ready to go. Could you please explain this sentence more, especially the word " meal " ? Thanks.
Sure! A meal is a plate of food we eat, usually for breakfast, lunch or dinner, a lot of people eat 3 meals a day. Meal prepping is preparing that food and getting items ready before the meal, so you can save time when you’re busy during the week. Hope that helps!
It's a good question: - [to meal prep] has become a verb, I suppose because it has become so common lately. - I [meal prepped] yesterday. - We [meal prepped] on Sunday evening. - I [am meal prepping] right now. So it's easier to treat the words as 1 chunk, I hope that makes sense!
That would be a good description yes. Sometimes [getting in] protein, calories, vegetables implies that you don't always want to eat them, or that it's hard to make yourself eat them.
If you tend to do something, you usually do it or it normally happens. Summer tends to be hot. Summer is usually hot. I tend to stay home during the week. I normally/usually stay home during the week. Hope that helps!
Good question. The structure of the Future Perfect always starts with: "Subj + will have + 3rd form verb." Because there is "will" the next word must always be "have". This is the same like "can have : should have : might have : may have" and other modal verbs. So it's always "will have." - I will have done it. - You will have done it. - He will have done it - They will have done it. Easy peasy!
In any tense or sentence where we use two or verbs: will do will have done will have been doing could have done would have done can do might do We don't need to change or conjugate the second verb, so it will stay the same for all subjects. will/could/would/can/might don't ever need to be changed, so it makes it easier. Here are some examples (the only ones we change/conjugate are in the present tense) I have some laundry. She has some laundry. I will do the laundry later. She will do the laundry later. I will have done all the laundry by 7pm tonight. She will have done all the laundry by 7pm tonight. I will have been doing the laundry for 3 hours by the time you get here. Hi, kat. How you doing? During the episode you said : " . . . and since l meal prepped, things are ready to go. Could you please explain this sentence more, especially the word " meal " ? Thanks.

Hope that helps!
@@highlevellistening grammartically, meal is the noun and prepped is the verb, are'nt they? Sorry, maybe i ask a lot. Thanks.
It's a good question:
- [to meal prep] has become a verb, I suppose because it has become so common lately.
- I [meal prepped] yesterday.
- We [meal prepped] on Sunday evening.
- I [am meal prepping] right now.
So it's easier to treat the words as 1 chunk, I hope that makes sense!

In the Future Perfect Tense and Future Perfect Continuous Tense, why do we use 'have' with all subject pronouns, and we don't use 'has'
Good question.
The structure of the Future Perfect always starts with: "Subj + will have + 3rd form verb."
Because there is "will" the next word must always be "have". This is the same like "can have : should have : might have : may have" and other modal verbs. So it's always "will have."
- I will have done it.
- You will have done it.
- He will have done it
- They will have done it.
Easy peasy!
In any tense or sentence where we use two or verbs:
will do
will have done
will have been doing
could have done
would have done
can do
might do
We don't need to change or conjugate the second verb, so it will stay the same for all subjects. will/could/would/can/might don't ever need to be changed, so it makes it easier.
Here are some examples (the only ones we change/conjugate are in the present tense)
I have some laundry.
She has some laundry.
I will do the laundry later.
She will do the laundry later.
I will have done all the laundry by 7pm tonight.
She will have done all the laundry by 7pm tonight.
