It was very interested for me, especially when Luke talked about tea time habits in different countries.
I had a similar experience with tea, when I arrived to the U.K. because in my country we drink tea with honey and lemon.
A British family gave me a cup of tea with milk and when I looked into the cup I thought they misunderstood something, and I asked if is it a cappuccino or what is this, because it seemed like that because of the milk.
They were surprised that I wanted to drink my tea with lemon in it, but accepted this very easy.
So I understand the situation here.😃
I hope there will be some more chat like this, I really appreciated it, thank you.🙂

Well, I was listening to this podcast with the intention of improving my listening skill
, and I was take aback when I listen to Luke, Anna's guest, that he struggles to speak French. I wonder how he motivates his leraners of English to speak English when he actually refuses to speak French. I believe that as a language teacher he must be a good role model for his leraners, so they force themselves to use the language at any opportunity that they have.

Honestly my lovely...: Best interview ever! You found your master Anna, Luke is so chatty! ;-) Thanks to your conjugated talents, being both focused on each other discourse, accurate and relevant, your duet worked perfectly and amazingly. Apart from the variety of subjects you evoked among which I especially enjoyed the part 'new vocab.' as I am too a word lover, I liked that the speech rate was a bit higher than usual on that one. With that kind of rich exchange, I can really assess the tremendous progress I've achieved in the listening/understanding sphere and in the course of the last three years being almost exclusively immersed into the English language. I could get the whole thing without subtitles except for a few occasions and for the terms that were new to me .
Bravo! Thank you so much to the both of you guys! It would be really great to have a part 2 ... and hopefully even more! 👍🙏😊
Now Anna, I can understand that you were starstruck and I think I've never seen you so focus, admirative and engrossed over an interview so far. One has to admit that Luke is brilliant, but you clearly don't have to blush in front of him and you must be convinced that you are probably (imho) one of the best, if not the best and goat🐐, tutor of the (British) English langage on the internet.
    Bisous bisous Anna! 😘🌹💞
P.S.: I am still hoping for an interview with my dear Sabrah and Leila whom I love tremendously too and though they both make themselves relatively rare these days esp. Leila. (Kisses to them!)

English has developed over a very long time, being influenced by many different languages. Our spelling does not inform the pronunciation, so I advise that you focus only on learning the pronunciation, don't worry about the origins. :)

The video is perfect, but the close caption is uncomfortable!!

When you say Closed Captions, do you mean the words on screen (as part of the video) or the automatic captions from TH-cam?

Booboo (a cat) wants us to chase each other around the house right now.
An English question: Which is correct, get or gets?
Really not in the mood for this game right now, but it's the only exercise either of us gets.

I believe formally it should be get because either is singular. But informally both get or gets is acceptable, because either is referring to ‘we’.
However, I’m not 100% sure on this one.

@English Like A Native Thank you!! 😊 I went back and forth on it.
I get a blue ribbon if I win the contest.
You get a blue ribbon if you win the contest.
She gets a blue ribbon if she wins the contest.
One gets a blue ribbon if one wins the contest.
All singular, as is "either." So, I was confused. I am still confused, but I've decided to quit wondering about it so much. 😂
