Repetitive private activities that promote isolation is a main brain changer, in my mind. Healthy human socialization is what we are wired best for, and we respond best to that.

Playing video games is better than just sitting on the couch watching TV doing nothing, at least with video games your brain is actually doing something
My experiences have been in lock-step with that theory. I was born just as video games in general were becoming a thing and I've played a lot of them. I can adapt easily to new ideas and complex concepts, but I can't find my way out of a paper bag.
I remember one day, early in the morning, on a school day, I was playing Minecraft, then when it was time to go to school, I got dressed brushed my teeth... etc., then I started walking to my bus stop, It was raining, and I literally tried to type, in real life, "/weather clear" (That's what you type in Minecraft to make it stop raining) then, I got confused for a second, then I realized I wasn't in Minecraft, so I laughed at myself a little, and continued walking to my bus stop, surprised that I tried to do that. I still remember that day, I remember it as if it was yesterday, it was one of the strangest days of my life.

But if you live in a city where there's a lot of landmarks, i guess it's not a bad thing. I personally think having a great amount of both is a really good thing, due to there being multiple routs to the same destination you're going to, you can use any rout you please if one rout is closed. I guess they both work together in a sense.
I think he was saying that the place learning is a more advanced way of learning. Not that one was better than the other, just how gamers and non-gamers brains view the world differently. But I may be wrong :p
Heather martin yea, navigating by landmarks isn´t bad if you allready somewhat know the area but if you´re walking out in a new part of town the other method is better to find home for example. can't explain it well but i get it
Apollo while we do have it better than some but sometimes life can be tough so it makes sense that he would say that reality is unbearable because it can be
Hey, man, don't take it personal. He's just stating many people's reality, it might not be his, but you're not wrong either. For example, I sort of fit your description, just that I live in a 3rd world country, I go to college, my dad's a business owner and stuff like that, and I have depression too. But I'm lately not playing videogames because I know there are better things than that (sometimes). And my depression gets released when I read a book (either the bible, book of mormon, fantasy novels -like The Book Eating Magician, etc.), when I get upset agains a certain subject and hit the notebooks so hard I score an A+ but the side effect is that I'm on fire desiring to pick a fight with my pillow or steam out in the Gym (My house with the floor and some push ups) and i'm moody the rest of the day or when I feel Inspired to do homework (Yet to learn how to trigger that one consciously and have an optimistic behaviour the rest of the day, even when mistreated by others.
Playing online pvp shooters makes your reaction speed and your hand eye coordination increase noticeably. I surprise myself sometimes with the things I've started doing just instinctively.
+opmc PLAYZ It's okay to play video games but we have to limit ourselves. We need to be aware of the negative effects of blue light. Too much exposure to digital screens can lead to eye damage. I was aware of eye strain resulting from spending hours in front of a computer screen, but for years I took great measures to protect my eyes with consistent breaks and exercise. My friend also recommended me an effective screen filter from ocushield. I've tried it recently and it works great especially at night time.
+May Creer Well the thing is, I can't tell a difference in my vision after using it. I have noticed my vision getting a little worse though, so I need new glasses.
Ever since I started playing Counter-Strike, my real life reactions have gotten faster; I can catch things falling off the table before they hit the ground. If my family sees me, they can't believe how quickly I moved! Sometimes, I can't believe it either!
HiperHiv So, what you're trying to say is, Counter-Strike brainwashes people. . .? Enlighten me with these "studies" of yours. You assume that everyone who plays video games is addicted to them and plays constantly, and you assume I spend more than 5 hours a week playing simply because I commented that I like playing CS:GO. I'm not following your logic. I am further amazed you commented 8 minutes after I posted my previous comment. You're telling me to get a life when you clearly don't have anything better to do.
It depends on which games. If you're playing smash, you can possibly become more aware of your surroundings, act quicker, etc. But if you're playing clash of clans, you are just running down your neurological capacity.
That's irrelevant you make decisions quicker but what's the decision press fucking buttons and smash the stick. Gamers make decisions quicker but do they make the right decision? They usually have limited or 0 social skills so they don't know shit when it comes to a job or communicating with people face to face. The outcome of quick decisions is regret by the gamer and feeling as if "no one understands me" nonsense your just not well adjusted
l barbakle l I assume you don't play games and are an old woman if you think gamers are all unsocial, most men play games, have you ever talked to a man
if your doing something repetitively that doesn't require much effort it's probably bad for brain growth therefor if you Resident Evil 6 over and over again going through the same campaigns you're probably doing some damage to your brain
Just saying video games change my brain in a good way like give me imagination, etc and I heard that it does not kill cells unless you do something like this rage, unsocial , no non game time, and skipping education and dropping in school because of a video game. And since I do all of that I am good😄😄😄😄😄😄
but mostly all of young people are just like that these days :D drugs and alcohol are out , games in.. :D all the time there must to be something what fucks up us, people
Lol in CS:GO I exactly know where I am in the map... There aren't really any big landmarks, I could see where somebody is if I look on the minimap, which only shows the passageways, no landmarks.
Wouter Damen You think thats anything? Put me in DayZ on Chernarus anywhere and i'll find my way to NW Airfield without a map or any significant landmarks.
Im a gamer, an action gamer, And I can tell you that I NEVER get lost ANYWHERE that I have been before! I belive games have helped me to remember how a place is, cause in games I need to remember all the corners, shortcuts etc, meaning I allways know where things around me are.
I think it depends on your childhood, I personally grew up in the middle of the woods with nothing more than GI joes. I had a game boy for the longest time, but I would also leave it outside cause I would be to busy playing. Now I play them every day.. But some games do better than other. Fast Action games improve reflexes, sports games improve cooperation and team Understanding.. RPG improves economy comprehension, and over all patients.. The way I see it. Video games are hell of a lot better than sitting in front of the TV, at least we're engaged in something.. Not just tube zombie.
Yup, and the stuff regarding spacial awareness (about the stuff at getting lost) first: I'm a pro at not getting lost (and I have spent litteral days with action games). Second, I'm good at math (actually got an A in last high school exam in that subject). Third, my creativity levels rivals that of the author of Harry Potter (not as entertaining to read) Hunger games and with music I can write a whole book with coherence, original, and with never seen plot twists, depending on the message that the music transmits.
@NoRobux God You're acting like everything falls apart because of video games, and keep in mind video games is not controlling you're/our mind it's our on decision.
My issue is the compartmentalisation of logic/puzzle/platform distinct from action/rpg. Specifically, let's play Skyrim. Skyrim is an action-RPG where the game proper, and the meta-game of RPG elements both contain significant logical challenges. The game proper also contains a good spread of action, platforming, and puzzle challenges. Sure there are crappy paint-by-numbers corridor shooters that are on rails and present few challenges for their overbearing cinematics. However there are also wildly popular games that classify as action/rpg which are based around logic/puzzle/platform challenges which are based in open worlds that don't simply slot in to "navigating by landmarks" but also ingrain navigation by distance over time and create a large and dynamic mental map that is as rich and detailed or even more so as one you would create using public transport, driving, or riding a bicycle in real life. If you are going to perform studies on gamers and gaming, it's just as important to realise the diversity, and commonly mixed variety of challenges of the most popular game titles, as well as studying down strict genre lines. Because games don't honestly and readily fit that type of classification around which the studies were designed that were presented in this video. Not the fault of DNews, just a lack of quality in experimental design on behalf of the researchers. Especially given the obvious attention their results were intended to generate. Half assed science, half assed gaming. But still interesting regardless :D
I'm 35 years old. I used to be a huge gamer. Than one day I got an epiphany. I was spending this one life I have killing things in the virtual world 3-5 hours a day. Why? Why are so many games about killing? Our minds weren't meant to constantly absorb this. I would spend hours a day leveling up my characters in a fake world when I wasn't leveling myself up in the real world. We get a hit of dopamine every time we accomplish something in video games. But video games is a fake world. We're really not accomplishing anything. I got rid of all my games and I began to improve myself instead of improving a fake character.
Omar it's just for entertainment..who are saying anyone to make video games thier lives ☺️ it's just a source of entertainment and stress buster nothing else..like if we watch tv movie.. that could be considered as waste of time...but can u work all day long. Without any break..that gives you happiness..so yeah it's just a game.. entertainment and fun
For me video games are a part of my life. If you really think about it, our character in a multiplayer game is not much different from us. If I was in the same situation as I were in a video game I would act the same in real life. Specially roleplaying games
I agree with you mostly, but videogames are actually a way I can create connections with people. It's a social activity for me, and for that I'm totally fine playing my games.
My knowledge in math has increased with all the codes and commands that I’ve learned from planning videos games. Along with my reflexes I’m able to stop something from falling onto the ground really fast
Games are indeed better than watching TV, since playing video games involves us and makes us participate and be active in reflexes, thoughts and memory, while TV is just entertainment that turns our brains off for a while (Of course depending on the content related to each kind of media)
Maybe it's only me, but i got less aggressive playing stressful and violent video games in the past 20 years. I learned how to handle my anger. For example, I died about 2000 times in Dark Souls. First it was frustrating, than it became a challange, than i knew i can beat anything with observtion and patience. It was similar when i played multiplayer games like call of duty. I was frustrated when i got killed, but i got used to it and learned that it's just a game and i can move on. Now I'm a project manager at multinational company. Working under high stress due to time schedules, technical issues, chasing sales and such. I never feel like these things stress me. When i do the best i can, but still fucked up, i feel no anger or disappointment. I learn from it and go ahead. My colleagues and employees love me because im always calm, i can stay focused under stress. Partially thanks to the video games i still play!
my mom told me to that playing games a lot will lead to drugs. so i start spending time outside and hanging out and then i start to do alcohol and smoking. from going outside. I wish i just stayed inside playing games.
Ive been a gamer my whole life and I never have any problems remembering the layout of real world locations. As long as you leave your room and go outside and navigate the worls on your own (driving) you shouldnt have any problems remembering your surroundings
I play a action role playing game. Excessively. All day. Although i know I'm not supposed to do that. I'm not even 18 yet and my head keeps spinning all day long. I cant focus on studies plus I'm starting to have shaky hands. I want to leave this but I'm so badly addicted😭😭😭😭
So I noticed they listed RPGs under the reduced memory making catagory but in a good RPG like Dragon Age you have hours of lore behind 1 chacter, and if you are anything like me I take that lore and memorize it as soon as it comes up hoping it will be important later.
Mathdoesgamez Agreed. I particularly enjoy the challenge in speculating about the next games, because of the subtlety of Dragon Age lore. It's very much just putting together small bits of information to solve an entire puzzle, and I like that about lore-heavy games. It is sad that the same lore-heavy RPGs were grouped under the same category as action games, because they are so different in so many ways!
Dr.Mauaz:Playing video games dont do anything to your brain nor to your physical activities and the people who says that it effect in children brains or physical activires then are absolutely wrong, video games help us to learn new word's and to know about the enviroment and which is real and which is not,Which can happen and which cannot...so wgat you guys think
I play a lot of skyrim and every time I'm about to do something dumb I try "save my game " and then I realize that it is real life and skyrim so I don't end up doing the dumb thing, I'm basically saying like imagine me going to the save button on the game and then a stop and realize it is real life
It's so weird because if you get a group of people together, there's pretty much a one hundred percent chance that the gamers are going to be brighter and more creative than the non-gamers, and yet there's always new studies like this that say gamers' brains are shriveling into raisins and their development is stunted on every level. I swear I think this entire viewpoint is based on the fact that when a player is concentrating on a game, his face goes slack and he can't respond to questions because his concentration is elsewhere. For years this phenomenon has contributed to the dim-witted opinion "those video games will rot your brain!" because every dingaling who has trouble with abstract thinking has no idea that the slack-faced gamer is super involved in saving the world, solving a puzzle, killing a dangerous opponent, outwitting Skynet, building a civilization, exploring outer space, you name it... tldr: I think they cook the books and make this stuff up.
People will tell you they value you opinion but they don't it's a competitive world nobody wants your logic or even considers a gamers opinion whilst in the mist of a large group you are the outsider who isn't well adjusted and will be forgotten you have to step up and compete with the big dogs not just offer up some peaceful opinion take the reins
Hold it! Wait. . .what? They taught chimps. CHIMPS. to play a 'co-opperative videogame'. Make an effing video on that! There's not one piece of information in this vid that is more important than that. Or that this is just designed to make anyone feel bad for prefering final fantasy xv to effing super mario go.
(10 years) some unknown source took down all satellite systems. The economy has experience a minor recession. Terrorist attacks all over the usa. Meanwhile your stuck at your local mcdonals because you didnt know de wae
how playing video games change your brain. 1 better problem solver. 2 increased reaction time. 3 notice detail better. 4 higher iq. 5 outlet to terrible life. 6 better hand eye coordination. 7 (if you play racing games) better drivers. 8 better at relationships (if you play with other people online on games that require serious teamwork like csgo).
Wouldn’t different games exercise different brain muscles though. My gf plays 0 or 1 games, and I play many games with a lot of time in games that emphasize game sense, real-time strategy, and team-play; somehow I’m more spatially aware and get lost less easily than she. Could it be the games?
brains dont change lol, video games makes you actualy smarter. And your reaction is also much faster then those watching TV only. video games makes you interact with body and mind at the same time. so playing video games is realy healty for everybody.
Well this never encouraged people to do important tasks in life because so much important time been misused this is my belief no matter what ,your body is like paralyzed for instance and there are many negative impacts in life .
Hey man , im lost in games , what do u advise me to do ? Used to be the first in m'y class , since I got addicted to games , I got down nd became a shame 😷😭 , I do really need your help
As a person who grew up in foster care, I will say this. One of the major things I did to cope was playing video games. It wasn't video games that made me want to fight. It was real people in the real word. And I chose to play a video game instead of fighting. So it's not going to brain wash us into thinking murder is ok, it's not going to make us think hey I get rewarded for robbing a bank in game so I can do it in real life. Many people like myself have played video games as a coping skill because of the reality of our real life. It's a escape. Wait? That's bad? That's not healthy? Ok so what about people who cope with movies and TV shows? What about people who cope by reading? They can escape to their false reality but we can't? And then there are people who play video games as a hobby. They play for the fun of it.
I agree that videogames can also improve our minds, But playing first person shooters all day long can destroy your brain and your vision My grades were horrible when i was addicted to video games, Then 3 months later i started having better and better grades. Study, you won´t regret it.
***** Yes, it is also true, But videogames can actually make you lose your mind... If you get to the point when are completely addicted to videogames.. It gets really bad... It´s just like a drug, you just want to play, play and play. You can also get fat, diabetes, lose your vision and other related health conditions...
Life is about balance the fact that you were addicted to something is the problem not that it was video games you could have been addicted to anything and still ended up with the same result don't say oh I'm addicted to videogames so my grades are bad say I'm addicted to something and I fucked up
When I play a video that's gets me frustrated , I realized my behavior and stop playing it . I only play games that make me calm , happy and it's enjoyable like Mario .
Anything can make a person mad , even real world sports like football and basketball , you can be mad at ur basketball team mate for poor performance like you do in multiplayer online games
Im much more casual as a gamer compared to my childhood years. I would say video games are ok in a sense as they can at keep you out of serious trouble amd give you something to do when at home alone. The cons include obsessively thinking about games and affecting your social skills among other things. I've always been an awkward person and I feel that gaming so much had an effect on that.
Excuse me? When I was 8 years old, I learned English as my second language by playing videogames and chatting with people in videogames. Now my English is better than 90 percent of the school(teachers included) and i have special education that makes 60 percent of my classes in English because my English was exceptional.
Hey Trace, Regarding way finding...the research is very true as I have myself experienced such things. I am also a gamer and around 10 years before I was exceptionally good with directions and way finding but these days I often feel quite lost while locating my friend's office.
By a study violent video games have been proven to increase the factors like work management , deadline management better situation handling and boosts motor reflexes...now take that video game critic's
I use 2 play video games, but after my older sister past away I respected her wishes,?. But everybody is different it depends on how & when U take it 2 heart?. & much more inside your mind?. With A overload, of the brain, but on the other ✋ hand ✋ if U play it by the moderation panel U must decide for yourself whether you have the?... Now your playing with power punch line???.
1:25 I just had a problem with landmark placing recently when i google earthed the place i met my wife 19 years ago and it was horrifying. The problem with land marking is that landmarks are being torn down and sometimes eve moved. If there was a game that updated the business regularly and what people ramble from one second to the next maybe that would solve the problem. Redundancy is as bad as not exercising.
This is quite dumb. It's basically clickbait. The title says, "How Video Games Change Your Brain" but then they come to the conclusion that they don't know because too many studies are saying too many different things. So they don't know and aren't answering the question that people have when clicking on the video, so it's essentially clickbait.
so if you made a game as to what the real world is.. like playing gta 5 or something like need for speed.. would it still be different then what we do in real life?
i'd say that games can improve your reactions, and, depending on the game, strategical/logical thinking. However, i would say that, because of the strong stimulation, playing games regularly can make it harder to motivate yourself to do other things, that may not reward you that immediately.
I play video games to release stress but in the end I always end up more stressed than before.
Same with me, if i play once in a while no problem but every day it kinda fucks your brain
you're doing it wrong then
Wot
You need to play my game ;) not wot cause that game makes you angry
Vandal my kd is fuqing 1.7

Atheism, Linux and fedoras aren't bad either. But that doesn't make them exempt from dank memes.
Video games also increase your reaction times.

Especially South park the stick of truth.
Especially if you play rainbow six siege
That's good what about eyesight

I thank GTA for my not being in prison for vehicular manslaughter. They even have big rigs in the games.

Repetitive private activities that promote isolation is a main brain changer, in my mind. Healthy human socialization is what we are wired best for, and we respond best to that.
Video games are totally fine; in moderation. Too much of anything is bad. Games are a fantastic hobby; almost irreplacable in their role in hobbies.

Johnny Brewo Riven sitting right here in front of me....I have 2 copies :D with the cases.
Brooks Yeager myst is the best, but i aslo love CSGO, ... wonder how my brain scan would go.
agriperma They need to look at people like me who to play logic platforming puzzle and action (not so much roleplay.)
agriperma This, I was thinking the same thing while watching this video.
ammonzing Yea Myst is better, it's harder and more original. Where as Riven kinda tries too hard, but it's still good too.
Playing video games is better than just sitting on the couch watching TV doing nothing, at least with video games your brain is actually doing something

+Daniel Kauffman Sometimes I have to learn for school, so I don't play. If not I play 4 hours max on school days, on weekends I play twice that time.
Once I blew some dudes head off then tried to reload my save before that. Lol that was a hoot to explain to the cops.
But is it really bad to use landmarks to get around
we'll bang okay yea, that´s what they said

i like video games because it just helps me get rid of stress about school and stuff
+May Creer I read this as I have my phone exactly 3 inches from my face. With brightness at about 50%.
+BLUEDRAGONFLY Have you tried ocushield screen protector? I've tried it on my macbook and iphone. I find it helpful and convenient to use.
+May Creer Well the thing is, I can't tell a difference in my vision after using it. I have noticed my vision getting a little worse though, so I need new glasses.
+opmc PLAYZ i like call of duty because you kill people lol :)
Ever since I started playing Counter-Strike, my real life reactions have gotten faster; I can catch things falling off the table before they hit the ground. If my family sees me, they can't believe how quickly I moved! Sometimes, I can't believe it either!
HiperHiv Dude, it's just a game that I play for fun. If you don't like what I do, and I don't know why you even care, then scram.
I just was online tho, it's not hard to figure it out.
ikr!
Thats still subjective.
The outcome of quick decisions is regret by the gamer and feeling as if "no one understands me" nonsense your just not well adjusted
l barbakle l I play video games all the time and I can do exactly what you said so quit assuming things.
EddyxD he is just being stereotypical lol
l barbakle l I assume you don't play games and are an old woman if you think gamers are all unsocial, most men play games, have you ever talked to a man
If your playing clash of clans, your developing a brain tumor
the problem with the cortex study, is they are going to get inconsistent results. unless they also study the same people after switch games.
I have 40 days played on call of duty. Im still the smartest student in my class
no they are really lazy
GamerGille I play video games so much
And I still beat the other smart guy who never plays video games
Thats just sad bro
Those are rookie numbers kiddo
Has your reaction time gotten faster?
0:16 today I am Trace, at night is when I put on my high heels and become Tracy
Rem NL fellow kekistanian. Shadilay to you
I feel like playing video games now but I'm at school ;_;
lol
***** lol i am in summer now!!!!
***** i am at home and right now i gonna play a video game.
Don't we all.
***** That got two likes? Seriously?
Make that 5 -_-
Marcelo B bahahaha
I am still trying to figure out this new game called "Massasins Creed" anyone heard of it? 00:00 :P
***** I know what he meant, but I swear I heard an M lol
Lol
TheDaringPastry1313 me too
+TheDaringPastry1313 LOLOLOLOLOLOL
TheDaringPastry1313 its assassins creed
Idk I feel like I use "Place learning" in video games and not "response learning". I can walk through a lot of maps blindfolded.
he say action games like would be csgo, overwatch etc
if your doing something repetitively that doesn't require much effort it's probably bad for brain growth therefor if you Resident Evil 6 over and over again going through the same campaigns you're probably doing some damage to your brain
CactosS And you think I was refering to something else why?
Just saying video games change my brain in a good way like give me imagination, etc and I heard that it does not kill cells unless you do something like this rage, unsocial , no non game time, and skipping education and dropping in school because of a video game. And since I do all of that I am good😄😄😄😄😄😄
Well said. :D
Reaper_Tracer_ Films go read my comment your gonna be suprised
So you rage, are unsocial, got no non game time, skip education, and are a dropout?
but mostly all of young people are just like that these days :D drugs and alcohol are out , games in.. :D all the time there must to be something what fucks up us, people
I use to play gta so much at one point I saw a health and armor bar in my view for a day
Mikey Hartman omg man
wtf
Some thing similar happened to me I was i n the car driving and I don't know why but I look for the GTA v map and I look down to see where i was lok
Scary
I drove on the left side of the road for playing too much sleeping dogs
Assassins creed 2 teached me how to speak Spanish in school, because of the subtitles
I totally believe that, actually,
Im spanish. Im a native castillian speaker. Assassins Creed 2 teach me how speaks italian xd
Lol in CS:GO I exactly know where I am in the map... There aren't really any big landmarks, I could see where somebody is if I look on the minimap, which only shows the passageways, no landmarks.
Wouter Damen What do you think callouts are for?
*****
a location has a name, but "your friends house" is pretty much a name too amirite
Wouter Damen because its hard to find around...
Wouter Damen You think thats anything? Put me in DayZ on Chernarus anywhere and i'll find my way to NW Airfield without a map or any significant landmarks.
Wouter Damen but in cs you LEARN the map, and donw have to navigate through big unknown areas.
Im a gamer, an action gamer, And I can tell you that I NEVER get lost ANYWHERE that I have been before! I belive games have helped me to remember how a place is, cause in games I need to remember all the corners, shortcuts etc, meaning I allways know where things around me are.
Really though you can get a photographic memory.
I think that CSGO is one of the games that has a lot of real life benefits
@NoRobux God You're acting like everything falls apart because of video games, and keep in mind video games is not controlling you're/our mind it's our on decision.
some time when i play cs go it feels like im playing with chimpanzees
Love Conquers All you actually changed my life with this comment.! Thanks bud. May god bless you!
How do you know even the real world isn't virtual yo?
This morning I had to delete my dream league soccer because it causes some symptom like depression, lack of sleep, headache
My knowledge in math has increased with all the codes and commands that I’ve learned from planning videos games. Along with my reflexes I’m able to stop something from falling onto the ground really fast
Hi
bruh
Yes yes
This explains why i get lost to the bathroom everyday. my pants are a mess.
U damn😂😂😂😂😂
I maybe play video games but I still focus on my homework.
Basically what this video is about: fun games are bad for you and boring games are good for you
Games are indeed better than watching TV, since playing video games involves us and makes us participate and be active in reflexes, thoughts and memory, while TV is just entertainment that turns our brains off for a while (Of course depending on the content related to each kind of media)
That's strange because I'm a massive gamer and I always thought I could build a map in my head quite well,
me: my stomach hurts...
Dad: it's because UR playing to much
me: omfg I got nosebleed again
mom: UR playing to much
me: WTF
Big relate m8
Ya that sucks man
Parents... THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND!
Watching TH-cam is making my brain hurt.
me too
Undertale 903 me too
issa creampie mee three
@Son Gokai lol ikr
What, this aint true! I play ALOT! but my inner- compass is rather good. If i go somewhere ive never been I can still find my homes direction.
The shout out to commander keen yaaaaahhhhh amazing.
David Whetzel love that shit.
David Whetzel cool name, dude
Most games really sharpen your reaction time, I played quite a few games and my reactions are faster than normal
Pray to God he will help you.
So I noticed they listed RPGs under the reduced memory making catagory but in a good RPG like Dragon Age you have hours of lore behind 1 chacter, and if you are anything like me I take that lore and memorize it as soon as it comes up hoping it will be important later.
Mathdoesgamez I don't think they understand what an rpg is. Chances are, they have it confused with games like Assassins creed or God of War.
***** true xD
Mathdoesgamez Agreed. I particularly enjoy the challenge in speculating about the next games, because of the subtlety of Dragon Age lore. It's very much just putting together small bits of information to solve an entire puzzle, and I like that about lore-heavy games. It is sad that the same lore-heavy RPGs were grouped under the same category as action games, because they are so different in so many ways!
+Crashandburn999 Assassains Creed is an RPG.
***** RPG: A game that the player takes on a roll, and can interact with the world. Role:Assassin
ONE DAY I WILL MAKE MY OWN GAMING COMPANY...
LOL❤
Video games only change our brains for the BETTER! All in favor???
Even if it was bad for the brain, let's be honest here, almost Everything in this world can somehow be bad for you.
I'll always be a gamer!
"gamer"
*internally cringes*
Better
AlextheOG oi think of something shorter bot get out
I tell myself to stop playing games but I can't stop
Dr.Mauaz:Playing video games dont do anything to your brain nor to your physical activities and the people who says that it effect in children brains or physical activires then are absolutely wrong, video games help us to learn new word's and to know about the enviroment and which is real and which is not,Which can happen and which cannot...so wgat you guys think
I play a lot of skyrim and every time I'm about to do something dumb I try "save my game " and then I realize that it is real life and skyrim so I don't end up doing the dumb thing, I'm basically saying like imagine me going to the save button on the game and then a stop and realize it is real life
ItzCrafting I use to have that same feeling with Gta San Andreas

I love that game.oh skyrim!oh wonderful,wonderful skyrim!
I know this is a old reply but I very slightly did that irl for about 1 week at one point.
MMORPGs help you though
-huge world
-in game economy (supply and demand)
+Jean Paul Blanchette HAHA You play MMORPGS 10 years ++ nowxxDDD.............. I;'m also WoW 6 years now Guild wars 2 you playing??
+TheDragonshadow1231 you're brain dead.
+TheDragonshadow1231 You're spelling and grammar is just all kinds of fucked up. I don't think you're playing the right kinds of games
Should be playin Hooked on Phonics.
I used to play once and a while but now I play everyday and I really need to stop, because I noticed its causing me to have lack of sleep
Video games have good effects if you have self control
Hold it! Wait. . .what? They taught chimps. CHIMPS. to play a 'co-opperative videogame'. Make an effing video on that! There's not one piece of information in this vid that is more important than that. Or that this is just designed to make anyone feel bad for prefering final fantasy xv to effing super mario go.
LOL who cares about place learning when everyone just uses a GPS.
dmaster225
Then internet broke down, and people couldn't find their way back from the grocery store.
(10 years) some unknown source took down all satellite systems. The economy has experience a minor recession. Terrorist attacks all over the usa. Meanwhile your stuck at your local mcdonals because you didnt know de wae
So I have to play more Portal and less CS:GO? Well, I've stumbled across worse sentences.
TKWeckroth so I should play less battlefield one and more gmod?
Games have definitely not made us any smarter or happier.
It really actually depends how long and what type of game your playing
What if I play melee? A platform and action game! A-ha!
You're right, mah boi
What if I play stuff about making friends?
The bottom line is that playing video games is probably vastly more stimulating to the brain than watching TV.
how playing video games change your brain.
I feel dizzy after playing video games for 1 sec
Wouldn’t different games exercise different brain muscles though. My gf plays 0 or 1 games, and I play many games with a lot of time in games that emphasize game sense, real-time strategy, and team-play; somehow I’m more spatially aware and get lost less easily than she. Could it be the games?
brains dont change lol, video games makes you actualy smarter. And your reaction is also much faster then those watching TV only. video games makes you interact with body and mind at the same time. so playing video games is realy healty for everybody.
Smilies2013 actually*
94% girls under 18 like videogammes but i could never find one...............the lucks
Not all of them have mics.
GhostwarGWPTC Playing Candy Crush 5 minutes a day counts as a "regular gamer" in such studies.
must be it XD
Gaze73 oh... i count gamer as about 2 hrs almost evry day,
id say about 6 to 7 hours a day
I West all my life playing video games now i can't graduate high school 😔
I quit high school.
Games make you agressive?Say that Again!...I dare ya I DOUBLE DARE YA MODAFAKA
leogaming 1 hmm, not at all aggressive.
Hear that kids? Nintendo master race
Dabbing Sniper And Cheerful Sniper awwww, keep youself safe! Thanks for being respectful!
You know what? I dont care.
I keep playing phones and someone change my brain to stop playing games
Video games make people aggressive sometimes
I agree that videogames can also improve our minds, But playing first person shooters all day long can destroy your brain and your vision My grades were horrible when i was addicted to video games, Then 3 months later i started having better and better grades.
Study, you won´t regret it.
+Claudio Cunha Your grades where bad because you chose to play when you should study. The problem was your choices, not the game.
***** Yes, it is also true, But videogames can actually make you lose your mind...
If you get to the point when are completely addicted to videogames..
It gets really bad...
It´s just like a drug, you just want to play, play and play.
You can also get fat, diabetes, lose your vision and other related health conditions...
Life is about balance the fact that you were addicted to something is the problem not that it was video games you could have been addicted to anything and still ended up with the same result don't say oh I'm addicted to videogames so my grades are bad say I'm addicted to something and I fucked up
I'd love to see some cod noobs play CS:GO
When I play a video that's gets me frustrated , I realized my behavior and stop playing it . I only play games that make me calm , happy and it's enjoyable like Mario .
Mario makes me mad as hell.,
ya right, whenever anybodys mad from playing a game the dont just suddenly stop being angry and play something else
Anything can make a person mad , even real world sports like football and basketball , you can be mad at ur basketball team mate for poor performance like you do in multiplayer online games
Megan Bloomfield sorry can't take u seriously with ur profile pic
Im much more casual as a gamer compared to my childhood years. I would say video games are ok in a sense as they can at keep you out of serious trouble amd give you something to do when at home alone. The cons include obsessively thinking about games and affecting your social skills among other things. I've always been an awkward person and I feel that gaming so much had an effect on that.
I play both fps and platform games. Do i have a medium sized entorhinal cortex?
video games sucks, they run ur life
If you're shit at running your life they do
Excuse me? When I was 8 years old, I learned English as my second language by playing videogames and chatting with people in videogames. Now my English is better than 90 percent of the school(teachers included) and i have special education that makes 60 percent of my classes in English because my English was exceptional.
If your life gets ruined by a video game you need to sort out your priorities
yea
Vlad Godoroja I actually learned to speak different langauges because of videogames and I'm one of the best students in my class.
Now I know why I have no sense of direction whatsoever
Knowing to turn by distance and direction is simple geometry and physics, both of which many games use. Like knowing when to turn in racing games etc.
Welcome back to another episode of parents blaming it on the video game and not their bad parenting
Sometimes when I see security cameras my rainbow six instincts kick in and I panic for a sec
I think effect of playing video game on brain varies greatly depending on game
Is playing Fifa good for health..do i have a larger entorhinal cortex..2:18..
I do n't get it? Are they saying Action video games like Cod or Uncharted are BAD for you?
I noticed whenever I play games, my mind could automatically form a stategy to win the games, task, defeat enemies, etc.
