I think Peter getting married and have kids would be a typical, yet neat, success story imo. But I, personally just don't like wealthy businessman changes. Cause then it takes too much screen time to explain how he did it and what's the cause and what will happen... Though you could hit at a such story by doing a "Hope Summers" situation and making a child or grandchild from the future come to rescue her father or something similar. Like a version of SpiderMan 2099 that's related to Peter. It's been made before, but it could be hinting at Peter finding happiness in his life etc.
But it has to be earned the right way. Imagine if Peter Parker from Spider-Verse's backstory was told across a few decades of comics. Peter started a small time company that's successful within its niche, but not a massive corporation.
And the fact that it went so far to explain in-continuity why it was inevitable and the only reasonable choice exposes how much BULLSHIT that garbage was. SERIOUSLY?! No hero or villain could do ANYTHING to help with a gun shot wound?! REED RICHARDS couldn’t CURE a GUN SHOT WOUND?! Seriously, Quesada?! The original clone saga happened back in 1978. It was a great story. If I recall it was only 4 issues. The clone saved Ned Leeds who was attached to a bomb. There was issues that followed with Peter questioning if he is the clone or the original. The first clone of Peter was put into a smoke stack. There was a what if story talking about if the clone lived

I wish Marvel was able to rein in Clone Saga when they wrote it, the arc of peter hitting the end of his arc, dealing with a “rougher” version of himself, and peter and Ben fighting a evil version of them to turn Ben into a good guy and Peter some time off to live with MJ would have been a great story to start a new era for Spider-Man.
In One More Day, Peter doesn't seek out Mephisto. Mephisto appears before him as his daughter with MJ, a version of him that attacks gamers, and an older billionaire version of himself. He then breaks down how he doesn't want Peter's soul, he wants his marriage
I still maintained the clone saga could have worked if the marketing team didn't take over that entire story and made the writers stretched it for way too long and ruined the entire saga as a whole, Which is a damn shame because i am one of the few people who believed Ben riely was a good spider-man and plus i maintained the clone saga original ending with peter parker and mary jane having there baby Mayday parker spider-girl alive and kicking would have been so awesome and a great legacy passing to ben riely becoming the new spider-man and boom problem solved everybody wins in my opinion, but nope we didn't get that instead we got bullshit instead like one more day one moment in time and Clone conspiracy nonsense which sucks.
Maybe this is just me, but I think they could've salvaged the marriage of Peter and Mary Jane by hiring writers with experience of married couples in fiction or those who can put their own experiences of marriage into the story. Because we have seen great married couples in fiction for decades and they still are together for the most part even today. Elastigirl and Mr Incredible, Ralph and Sue Dibny, MacKenzie Calhoun and Elizabeth Shelby from Star Trek, etc. They could've done stuff like have Mary help Peter get into contact with someone who last saw a bad guy because of her modelling status getting some contacts or information from her clients/bosses. Maybe give her an arc where she works on training/self-defence because New York is getting more violent or something and then have that be used if Spiderman is in danger and she tries to help him. Hell, maybe there's something Peter doesn't know that MJ might and maybe they could implement her into a story like that, if they haven't done that already that is. And as for the argument that it might not make him relatable to teens/kids anymore, ignoring the fact that no one in real life gets powers from radioactive spiders as well it being unlikely that a nerd hooks up with the most popular girl in high school, other Spidermen could easily fill that role nowadays thanks to the Spiderverse and its multiple Spiderman incarnations. IE: Noir could fill the role of a dark and gritty Spiderman people want, Spider-Gwen and Miles could fill the role of a teenage Spiderman, Spider-Ham or a young Spiderman could fill the role of a kid-friendly Spiderman, and Peter could fill the role of an adult Spiderman. Thankfully, Renew Your Vows was a decent compromise for those who wanted the marriage to stay, and it likely would've quelled the flames for a bit longer if the writers didn't screw it up by like you said, making it more about the daughter and not the marriage itself. But yeah, in the future, One More Day may be undone or the two will get married again because if people are still upset about the One More Day event even a decade after it happened, it's likely they will one day try to get into the comics industry, specifically Marvel, and try and write a story to fix the whole situation. Morlun used to be cool and awesome. When JMS first introduced him in 2001, he was amazing. Coming Home is one of my favorite Spider-Man stories, and it has on of the greatest Spider-Man action sequences ever. This story pushes him to his limits and Morlun is basically an unstoppable force that basically sucks out all hope of victory. It showcases the "never give up" attitude perfectly, and seeing Spider-Man being pushed to his limits against an unstoppable foe is amazing as always. Coming Home got me back into Spider-Man after the terrible Mackie/Byrne years, and kicked off the phenomenal Straczynski/Romita Jr. years that redefined the character as a whole. Morlun was randomly resurrected in The Other, but Morlun was still cool and formidable in that story. However, since then, he's been pretty lame in Spider-Verse and Spider-Geddon.

Superman's marriage was extremely delayed, though: he had originally proposed to Lois in 1990, and the original plan was to have the marriage happen in 1992, but Warner interceded and asked them to postpone it because they'd just started production on _Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman_ for TV. So instead of getting married, Superman died, and the marriage got pushed back all the way until 1996. Even so, Peter and MJ's marriage still came first.
I loved JMS' era new, mystic wave of villains: Morlun, Shathra, The Digger, Shade... All of dem guys. Something about Spidey being completely out of his league fighting mysticism once in a while just clicks with me. The early JMS run in the early 2000s was so great

His pitch was that he wanted to do Peter as a father but the Marvel editorial thought that'd make him too old so they butchered his story. JMS also heavily argued against the idea of undoing Peter's marriage because he'd spent the better part of the decade writing and exploring it. He loved exploring Peter's life as a married man and he wanted to go further down that path. If you bothered reading JMS' work, it's filled with old man angst and it's some of the most interesting Spidey's inner monologue work that's ever been made. Both stories go heavily against JMS' stances and ideas of where to take the character but they were editorial decisions he couldn't back out of. He could have just tried his best to make them as painless as possible. He didn't too well but he did what he could...
Because they already split up once and reconciled and because its stupid in the first place for them to continually want to split up Peter and Mary Jane.
Honestly I thought that the whole magical totems thing began with the zekiel well before the other begin. Cuz when morlum was first introduced Ezekiel came in and asked Spider-Man if the science is what allowed the spider to get from the powers or if the spider was trying to give him the powers from the get-go
The totem stuff started becoming stupid with The Other. Before that storyline, it was a constant and ambiguous mystery that went on between Coming Home and The Book of Ezekiel. They resolved it well, by saying that they were asking the wrong question of wether science or magic gave the powers, it could be both. The Spider may have gained powers because of radioactivity and accidentally bit him, but it may have been because it chose him. They don't contradict each other. In the book, The Gatekeeper says: "According to science, the Sun may come up because of Earth's rotation. If I say that my belief is that it comes up because it is destined to, does that contradict the science?" It's a great example of the fact that science and faith can go hand and hand, and don't necessarily have to contradict one another.
I Really liked The Clone Conspiracy, The Other, Corporate Peter, The Clone Saga, One Moment in Time, One More Day and Renew your Vows. I Overall like and Enjoy these Stories.
I find it amazing how Kevin Feige used the terrible "One More Day" arc and just replaced Mephisto with Doctor Strange but incorporated elements from "Into The Spider-Verse". Making Spider-Man: No Way Home one the MCU's most ambitious and successful projects yet! Feige is a frickin genius well and I give the rest of the credit to dircector Jon Watts as well.
I gotta correct Screen Rant on the whole MJ Plane crash thing. It took 1.5 years to solve that and then another 1.5 years to rebuild their relationship stronger than ever. The plane crash was stupid, but it led to something good.

I thought totems was a good addition. Did the spider grant peter powers because it was radiated, or was going to grant the powers anyway. And the conversation between peter and the spider was good too. A child who focuses on the cool powers. But never realised the full potential (vibration sense on webs, back sticking etc)

I like the Other. Mostly the second half, but I feel like it was forced to be rushed out because Civil War was about to be released and disrupt pretty much everything, so they had to split the story between three teams, leading to many inconsistencies and making the whole thing convoluted. If JMS and Deodato had done the whole thing, it would've been great.
I stopped for a while after One More Day. I loved the JMS run, but Brand New Day is the worst era of Spider-Man comics ever and One More Day's effects are still being felt.

Superman's marriage was extremely delayed, though: he had originally proposed to Lois in 1990, and the original plan was to have the marriage happen in 1992, but Warner interceded and asked them to postpone it because they'd just started production on _Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman_ for TV. So instead of getting married, Superman died, and the marriage got pushed back all the way until 1996.
Even so, Peter and MJ's marriage still came first.

JMS didn't "write" Sins Past. His pitch was that he wanted to do Peter as a father but the Marvel editorial thought that'd make him too old so they butchered his story.
JMS also heavily argued against the idea of undoing Peter's marriage because he'd spent the better part of the decade writing and exploring it. He loved exploring Peter's life as a married man and he wanted to go further down that path.
If you bothered reading JMS' work, it's filled with old man angst and it's some of the most interesting Spidey's inner monologue work that's ever been made.
Both stories go heavily against JMS' stances and ideas of where to take the character but they were editorial decisions he couldn't back out of. He could have just tried his best to make them as painless as possible.
He didn't too well but he did what he could...

Honestly I thought that the whole magical totems thing began with the zekiel well before the other begin. Cuz when morlum was first introduced Ezekiel came in and asked Spider-Man if the science is what allowed the spider to get from the powers or if the spider was trying to give him the powers from the get-go
The totem stuff started becoming stupid with The Other. Before that storyline, it was a constant and ambiguous mystery that went on between Coming Home and The Book of Ezekiel. They resolved it well, by saying that they were asking the wrong question of wether science or magic gave the powers, it could be both. The Spider may have gained powers because of radioactivity and accidentally bit him, but it may have been because it chose him. They don't contradict each other. In the book, The Gatekeeper says: "According to science, the Sun may come up because of Earth's rotation. If I say that my belief is that it comes up because it is destined to, does that contradict the science?" It's a great example of the fact that science and faith can go hand and hand, and don't necessarily have to contradict one another.

I find it amazing how Kevin Feige used the terrible "One More Day" arc and just replaced Mephisto with Doctor Strange but incorporated elements from "Into The Spider-Verse". Making Spider-Man: No Way Home one the MCU's most ambitious and successful projects yet! Feige is a frickin genius well and I give the rest of the credit to dircector Jon Watts as well.

I gotta correct Screen Rant on the whole MJ Plane crash thing. It took 1.5 years to solve that and then another 1.5 years to rebuild their relationship stronger than ever. The plane crash was stupid, but it led to something good.

Clone saga was worse lol one of the reasons the comics industry crashed in the 90s and since Marvel was its own company at the time it suffered enormous losses.
@@AngelXO96 Yeah but Clone Saga 2was just Spider-man, and it only worsened Spider-Man by like partially. The big problem was the collector boom, thats what caused the industry to lose 100's of thousands of sales per book.

Did the spider grant peter powers because it was radiated, or was going to grant the powers anyway. And the conversation between peter and the spider was good too. A child who focuses on the cool powers. But never realised the full potential (vibration sense on webs, back sticking etc)
It was a good idea until Joe Kelly and Dan Slott screwed it up with Grim Hunt and Spider-Verse.

I'm genuinely glad Superior Spider-Man isn't on the list.
I like the Other. Mostly the second half, but I feel like it was forced to be rushed out because Civil War was about to be released and disrupt pretty much everything, so they had to split the story between three teams, leading to many inconsistencies and making the whole thing convoluted. If JMS and Deodato had done the whole thing, it would've been great.
The “gone” story, Mj/peter separation and clone saga burned me out. I got out of AMS on 499.
I stopped for a while after One More Day. I loved the JMS run, but Brand New Day is the worst era of Spider-Man comics ever and One More Day's effects are still being felt.
As bad as One More Day was... It was also a loose inspiration for NWH, which was amazing...

Corporate Peter was actually a great concept but the execution was terrible. Huge missed opportunity for Marvel and Spider-Man as a character!

Tobey Mc....thingy introduced me to Spiderman. At least "really" introduced me. From that point on I was aware of comics. So when those movies hit, I was SURE that webbing MUST BE organic, since spiders shoot it from their backs as well.... I never liked the webshooters...
