I had a friend who got into Guy's (as it was then) with EDD at A levels. His dad was a notable professor of medicine in the London med school community. This proves 2 things: good contacts can make a miraculous difference, and since the guy now is a notable medical researcher himself, bad A level result doesn't always mean you can't be a good doctor.
I have a similar experience to post grad med. I did triple science and maths and further, and it also ended badly. I actually chose to retake my AS after the first year didn't go well. I reapplied and now I have a offer.
I’m finding it so difficult as a post grad to find work experience. Every time I contact institutions, I’m told that they only keep spots for ‘younger’ A-levels students. Did manage to get 1 GP shadowing after contacting more than 85 surgeries 😂 The struggle is real, wasn’t able to apply this round because I couldn’t find any experience.
Oh wow really? I'm quite surprised by this! but really well done to you for persisting with 85 surgeries!! Maybe try hospitals too as well as GPs, they may be a bit more accommodating!
I love your channel im a biotechnologist from Iraq and im planning to do my master in Uk and your channel have been really helping me to get an ideas on how should I prepare myself to apply and what the uk universities expect from students .. I just want to say thank you so much for all the great information that you’re sharing with us ! Xoxo 😘
Aw you are more than welcome lovely I'm really happy that my content has been helpful to you! I wish you all the very best with prep and applications!! :) xx
I've been doing a BTEC which has allowed me onto a biomedical science course but I'm unsure even with experience whether I would be considered as I did'nt do A-levels. Would this class as to low of a grade in your opinion and do you know of anyone which has been in such a situation and succeeded in getting onto a post grad medicine course?
When you go for graduate entry, your degree becomes the most important thing along with the UKCAT/BMAT and work experience. A levels aren't really looked at so it won't matter that you did BTEC, just do well in your degree and you should be fine.
Hi, I’ve been following your journey for a while. I am so happy that you finally got into med school. I have a quick question, I got a B in English language and an A in math at gcse. AAB in bio Chem and maths respectively. I got a first class in biomed. Do you think I can still apply for graduate entry Medicine for university of Birmingham

aw that's amazing that you have your offer!! I think it's not uncommon to do what you guys did, I chose 4 at the beginning and then dropped 1
