This mod is the simplest and most cost-effective solution I've found. I got a Hori Fighting Edge not too long ago and I can't get used to the lever being shorter than typical arcade sticks. I've been looking for "s" style mounting plates for jlf and hayabusa to solve the height issue but can't find any that will fit into the case. Just wanna say thanks for posting this. Nice mod , i found a mod that could also work in your case . You said using an S shape plate was gonna make the shaft too tall, so what you need to do from there is to reduce the shaft height, to do that i placed some c clips (can use anything you want that is 1mm thick or the thickness you want ) between the body and the plate just under the screw holes, then screw back the plate to the body and you will end up with a gap between your plate and the body, so when youre gonna mount it back the shaft will be lower, i did it to mine work perfect .
Great idea! Adding C-clips or washers should definitely do the trick to reduce the height. Particularly useful if you're only looking at a few mm reduction. Thanks for sharing the idea.
Giving thumb a good activation point is really important. It often feels like it's just used for "up" movements but really it should be the main guide for all movements. If it's not being recruited correctly you miss out on better control. Glad it helped!
How about hitting up home depot or harware store for some plastic/nylon washers? Stack them for the desired hight. Maybe some plummer Teflon tape or a rubber o ring for a tighter fit over the metal threads.
Oh yeah no problems there as there's a lot of threading. It actually is probably tighter than usual as the plastic spacer has a bit more give like what you get from a plastic washer. I've actually had problems with balltops unscrewing occasionally on sticks without the mod. Good question.
Thanks, I have this exact need with my ls-32 at the moment, I'm trying to get it taller. I got a SE plate by mistake, I have the SS plate incoming but this will help me if it's not enough. The shaft extenders look a bit too much I agree!
@@neondagger this mod covered the SE / SS height difference nicely. I still probably want to use this once I get the proper plate since I want to try out a few mm higher option

Very helpful because as you mentioned the height is altered by the mounting, which is much harder to modify that doing this.
