5 months on and the AI steamroller keeps rolling... this discussion was SUPER helpful for me in keeping a biblical mindset towards AI advancements.
What Kyle said about the Tower of Babel is very interesting. After studying Genesis I couldn't help but think that we are now at a point similar to just before the flood. Genesis chapter 5 repeats "and he died". They understood that they were no longer living as long as their ancestors. It made me wonder if they were trying to reverse the curse (Genesis 6:1-4). Interesting.

Computers don't learn, they just run programs! You can write a program to do anything. It can process information faster than people can cognitively think. It can download/upload, memory can be expanded, and sensors can process whatever program was written to it, but it can't think, and it can't feel.
Per an IT specialist from Google, he left Google because he realized AI was sentient, as in aware of its existence.
sentient creatures...demons. same old story.
You're right . Computers can not feel or think outside the programming. However, we are talking about AI, and this is a whole different advancement.
Revelation 13:15
15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
This may possibly be the AI these men are talking about. The normal we knew will never come back until we stop these madmen who take our tax money for their wickedness. Since the Bible says these things shall happen, then it will come to pass accurately!

I have no further needs or desires
while there may be good that occasionally can come out of this,
the question then is "will it"?
It's like receiving that $400 ticket in the mail,

now there's an evil surprise to keep the krispy kreme donut club alive
To me gentlemen, it sounds way too humansitic
so not a lot of good can be expected to come out of it
man cannot even control himself,

this world needs JESUS a lot more than AI or chat box, etc.

with a WOKE army - it won't matter what tools we have
if the kids are not trained or disciplined in how to use them
without Ethics in Tyranny - all you will have is
the constant nightmare of CHAOS
if you never see a need to change - repentance is moot - for fools (their thoughts)
so then, how many will seek Christ, if they see no need to believe they need Him?
this is where the church becomes like the culture -
a "theatre" - as the late J. Vernon McGee once said
people come to be entertained to a "program"
are enamored by the ones who hold "office" (much like the CEO in the world)
and lose sight of the real meaning of fellowship and church
a hospital for the hurting to heal, but much more so = Jesus front center
in prayer, in worship, in bible time and study
the relationship has to be more important than the religion and institution
obedience not a formula - Lord lead us and guide us - we are in deep need
classes for the masses - if you disagree w Big Brother
they want to send you to re-education schools
uncooperative students, well let's say we won't hear or see much of them anymore
that's their end game, if you are useless to them, you are not needed, eliminate
I totally get the warning and apprehension about AI. But what do we do with it right now? It's here and coming-I don't see a way for humanity to avoid it, and maybe it shouldn't? If the world were to become Christian (for sake of illustration), how would we structure society utilizing AI for the glory of God? Oof, this is such a complex topic! Eschatology plays a crucial role in how we view the future here.

My opinion - these boys spent way too much time (on their hands) watching Star Trek, Star Wars, movies like Robin Williams - Bi-Centennial where the robot asked to be a human and lived to be 205, the 1973 Yul Brenner West World movie (what's your fantasy), Austin Powers - isn't Dr. Evil a lot like Klaus Schwab? Makes you wonder about mini-me. The 60s sitcoms - Man from Uncle, Get Smart, Mission Impossible, etc. way too much time without a father figure, or a parent directing them what to do. Most lived a life of ease, leisure and inheritance with little inate skills, then wanted to live the lifestyle they were accustomed to without talent.
God is the Creator, and He has created us for His pleasure is the final truth. period!.
Those who oppose should know that they oppose the ways of God who is very much alive, actively working, and He is one day soon going destroy them and begin His Millennial kingdom right on this earth.
Please accept Jesus Christ and be saved for the eternity.
there was nothing smart about smart phones except that it made the culture, community and world - dumbed down, and dependent on it, just like a kid can't handle simple math problems without a calculator.
Companies have become so reliant on AI that there is no more investigation by humans when it goes awry, thus it's measuring standard is quite flawed without correction.
All these people wanting to copy, duplicate and replicate God and His creation, and they fall woefully short of how wonderfully and fearfully we were and are made. No more reverence or respect for God has led to this godless soon out of control take over - for those left behind. Look up, your redemption is drawing nigh. Prophecy is being played out every day, the end of the church age is upon us.
