As a Colorado native and living in Gunnison...makes me soooo happy to watch how much you two have been enjoying this wonderful, beautiful state!!! Endless adventures!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Gunnison is beautiful!!. I went to first grade there at Blackstock elementary, idk if it’s still there, that was back in 1967/68 . I remember being fascinated by the big W on the hillside , my Dad taught at western state U for a year. I think the U has a different name now. I’ve been back a few times, lots of cool ghost towns nearby. Such a gorgeous place but cold in the winter !!
1927su that’s awesome!! Yeah that elementary isn’t here anymore. The big W is still here though!! I’m originally from the Denver area and moved up here in 2010 for college and after graduating I didn’t want to move back to the city like most of my friends did so I stayed! Can’t imagine living anywhere else!! When I came here for college it was called Western State College then by the time I graduated it changed to Western State Colorado University and now I think it’s Western State University or something like that haha they keep changing it...some alum donated a massive amount of money to change the name again and build another building to add an engineering department/program to the school, which is cool they have that! But a bit crazy to me to keep changing the name! It sure does get cold here but I absolutely love the cold!! I can’t do the heat very well!

Been watching your videos for a while now. After seeing this one I took a spontaneous road trip from California with some friends to experience the dunes. Walking through that sand was not easy. Hats off to you both for going as far as you did.

Wow! It's amazing that you guys have the perseverance to set up a tripod, walk away from it, then tramp back again. Definitely longer than an eight-mile round trip! 😂
Those sand dunes are in the US? Wow looks like somewhere in Arabia. And you didn’t let the wind stop you in your tracks, even when you were in pain. Never give up, never surrender
These sand dunes are near Alamosa, Colorado. It’s a national park, but never too crowded. These are the highest dunes in North America, and butt up against the mountains there, on the east side of the valley.

Congratulations you two. My daughter and I ascend the dunes in Death Valley for entertainment, when she isn't working on her geology work. As you found out, we treat the desert with a lot of respect, and pack much the same as alpine trips. People don't understand you expel 2-3 times the effort climbing dunes. With the altitude, and temperature with the altitude gain, plus hauling a bear canister and water; you need to be prepared. Despite all the efforts, the rewards are amazing, and so worth it. Congratulations on all of your efforts, lessons learned, and learning what mother nature has to offer, and how she keeps you on your toes. Keep doing your VLOGS, and what you've both experienced together. My wife and I have been together for 50 years, and we continue to be amazed by things in our lives. Cherish your memories and experiences. Thank you for sharing your lives, and all the effort needed to share those moments.
I hope one day I can experience even a fraction of what you guys have. You live a life I could only dream of. And believe me, I do! Love you guys! Sending love and light from Detroit, MI. 💖
Those are most likely coyote tracks because they are in groups of two and are two small to be mountain lion tracks. Lion tracks index on themselves because the rear paw lands where the front paw landed.
Hi guys, love the channel. Those are coyote tracks, and they naturally get laid down in couplets. Coyotes are usually very shy, and this one was probably shocked once she realized you were out there. Big cat tracks are about 400% larger, laid down evenly, not paired, and are in nearly a straight line. actually, if a person looks down a line of lion tracks they will make very slight lazy "s's", often with a tail dip alternating with the stride. If you're nearRockies
I have lived in Colorado my whole life. I love it here and my parents take me so many fun places. It’s great to see how much fun you guys are having here.
Kara, there is no doubt in my mind : You need to write a book! You truly have a gift with words and I travel book (with anecdotes of each country you visited, their culture ) would be awesome!!!!
Just a heads up camping gear is hard to find this year because of increased demand. Many people are out camping when they normally would go away on vacation instead. They’re pretty much viewing camping as a staycation and so people that don’t normally camp are camping this year and it all sold out very quickly. If you plan on doing any kind of camping in the future I would definitely keep your eyes peeled every time you’re in a Walmart or maybe order some and have it shipped somewhere for you to pick up. It’s gonna be hard to find in passing though.
Thank you so much for sharing your life with the world!!! You have no idea how much you have inspired me to be happy and live life to the fullest!! Hey that’s where I live well technically it’s about 20 miles from my house. And FYI it’s one of the coldest places in the US it can get below -40 F. And yup our town is the one they went to for tents, and not the biggest we don’t even have Uber or Lyft. I don’t know for sure about the tracks but I have seen many coyotes around.
your story really made me feel for the people thousands of years ago in the middle east who would travel by foot from country to country through the desert. props to y'all

I respect the many nate had to hike 🚶🏻♂️ twice to set up camra walk back down then back up for the glory and perfectness of the vlog (themennonitemom) you so right hats 👒 😉 off for nate. Nate you slay!💕🤍🖤🤍🖤💕
You guys are just such down to earth people! Normally TH-camrs gain a certain amount of attitude after attaining as many subscribers as you guys. But you both are the best and most down to earth couple! Keep the videos coming! I love you both!
I live vicariously through you two because I simply don’t have the courage (nor the physical stamina in many cases) to dive into the adventures you take us through! Thank you for sharing your amazing experiences with us!
From Antarctica to mountains to the seas and oceans to the van ride to the city tour to sandy plains.... They have left nothing
Love ur blogs...
I love how you guys mention in almost every video how grateful you are! You guys work hard for the life you have made, but it is refreshing to hear that you recognize that you should also be grateful! Love you guys!
Been watching your videos for a while now. After seeing this one I took a spontaneous road trip from California with some friends to experience the dunes. Walking through that sand was not easy. Hats off to you both for going as far as you did.
You never doubt their love for eachother and I just want what they have more than anything 😭🥰
I was looking for this comment
"I don't know what I would have done without your footsteps to follow" ughhhh so cute Kara!
This footage was so worth it. Thank you guys for making the physical journey. Great job as always!!
I love Kara being the narrator!!! The description makes us feel your pain and journey....

i love how you guys show how things are REALLY like and not just the good things! Love the vlogs
I see you everywhere
They have tons of sand dunes here in Southern California. Look up Glamis :)
Hello, fellow Cuban American, I think we watch the same videos cause I see you everywhere 🤣
If you can get Google Earth you should take a look at that. That is the a great way to see everything in the world, well almost everything.
These sand dunes are near Alamosa, Colorado. It’s a national park, but never too crowded. These are the highest dunes in North America, and butt up against the mountains there, on the east side of the valley.
Hello Kara and Nate
I am a kid watching you from Greece and I want too set a goal to visit 100 countries
I am still 10 so I have been only to N. Ireland Irealnd and Germany. But thans to you feel I have been to 100 countries from your videos and everything else you have done. I also like you are always ready for something new.
Love your videos
Kimon
Awww when Nate cuddled Kara was so cute
I really like you guys embracing the wild side of travelling. It’s even better than the city/aeroplane travel
All I keep thinking is the sand you're gonna be finding for months! It's like glitter...the gift that keeps on giving...
Who else literally gets SO EXCITED when they post!? I always love your videos! They inspire and motivate me SOOO much with growing my channel! Thank you for making such amazing videos!❤️

Back in March I lost my job because of Covid and watching you both made me focus on the good things in life. I'm finally working again and had to subscribe again on my phone and now I can leave comments. Your videos are the best! Lots of love to you both! ❤❤❤
Thank you for sharing your lives, and all the effort needed to share those moments.

yes, but "film"?
I hope one day I can experience even a fraction of what you guys have. You live a life I could only dream of. And believe me, I do! Love you guys! Sending love and light from Detroit, MI. 💖
If that was a mountain lion it was fresh out the womb 😂 their tracks are usually MUCH bigger haha
I was thinking bobcat
Maybe another of those stray cats that are in so many videos 😢😢 I'm not being serious
I don't think you understand how footprints work in the sand
Very useful info, thank you!
I have lived in Colorado my whole life. I love it here and my parents take me so many fun places. It’s great to see how much fun you guys are having here.
“I don’t know what I’d do if I didn’t have your footsteps to follow.” -Kara
Awwwwwwwwwwwww
I'm also virtually sleeping on dunes. Sounds crazy but thanks to Kara and Nate.❤️
I never get sick of the Nate almost electrocuting himself scene. So funny!
Kara, there is no doubt in my mind : You need to write a book! You truly have a gift with words and I travel book (with anecdotes of each country you visited, their culture ) would be awesome!!!!
Thank you for supporting the Access fund!!! This Coloradan loves his outdoors and there a very near and dear charity! Love the content guys!
16:29 😂 (Kara is thinking “imma eat it when you fall asleep”)
Just a heads up camping gear is hard to find this year because of increased demand. Many people are out camping when they normally would go away on vacation instead. They’re pretty much viewing camping as a staycation and so people that don’t normally camp are camping this year and it all sold out very quickly. If you plan on doing any kind of camping in the future I would definitely keep your eyes peeled every time you’re in a Walmart or maybe order some and have it shipped somewhere for you to pick up. It’s gonna be hard to find in passing though.
When you know what's going to happen in the vlog because you stalk them on Instagram
Thank you so much for sharing your life with the world!!! You have no idea how much you have inspired me to be happy and live life to the fullest!! I have been enjoying your journey only for a short amount of time however AMAZING!!! I look forward to finding new videos u haven’t seen every morning (like my morning coffee 😂) I love you guys so much!! I feel so good when I’m watching you guys on my giant tv at home. Thank you so much Kara and Nate for liking my video! It means SO much :D
Lol, right?!
I've been following you on Instagram and waiting for this video, I'm so excited!
your story really made me feel for the people thousands of years ago in the middle east who would travel by foot from country to country through the desert. props to y'all
Speechless. These are the coolest smartest and most animated water expert children.
GREAT. Parents make Great Kids. Thank you for sharing them.
The Colorado is beautiful we've been on it a few times too.

I really admire your sense of adventure and bravery doing this. As well as perservering to keep on going on this crazy adventure! Thank you so much for inspiring me so much and helping me through the tough times :)
Could you please do a video with the YES THEORY guys!!! I think it would be a great collaboration as both of your youtube videos seek discomfort in all your adventures. Check em out, you guys would make a wicked video together!! love you guys 🤍
The Yes Theory guys are dwindling
So glad you two are having so much fun in Colorado and showing a wide audience all the adventures and landscapes you can see here.
I started crying at the opportunity to possibly win the omaze/karaandnate. Vanlife is my biggest dream. I recently got a job and i'm going to save up to make a budget van conversion but if I won, that would be a dream come true. Then I started crying when Kara was narrating her trek in the dunes. Such a beautiful video with such beautiful people and such beautiful scenes. Thank you for existing, Kara & Nate.
When you said that it doesn’t actually seem that big on camera you were so true, I went there last summer and they are huge they don’t seem that big until you get to them
Who else comes to the comments but has nothing to say 😂
Love you guys!!

For a second, I thought they weren't in America anymore from the thumbnail. Its so crazy to think of sand dunes in the US sometimes
Yeah we have sand dunes in a few different states. The ones I know of are Arizona, California, Idaho and Colorado.
I'm from Michigan and we have tons of sand dunes around the Great Lakes
@@haydenmoore7482 new Mexico has white sands, huge gorgeous dunes.
Jessi on the Go yes!!! How did I forget about white sands!!
Utah also has them. Little Sahara & also Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park. The latter is almost 4,000 acres. Kara & Nate should pop over next door from Colorado, because Utah has amazing diversity of natural landscapes & so many national & state parks, with truly an unlimited amount of adventure opportunities!

I missed you guys today! I wait patiently every Sunday for your videos. I hope you guys are ok !
How are u 😀
Recently discovered your channel and loved it. Such a sweet and loving couple, always positive. I wonder if Kara is ever in a bad mood. Please connect if you ever decide to visit Tasmania in Australia:)
Lots of people are asking why no new video today... Kara posted a quick Insta story saying how busy she has been following on as support for Nate and the other guys on their 500 mile bike challenge... she apologized and said she will get one posted tomorrow (Monday). I, too, was worried Nate maybe had bitten off more than he could chew this time!
This has to be my most favorite video ever. Amazing strength and courage. Kudos to the both of you.
Once this pandemic is over and you can get into Canada. Come up to Alaska. Wilderness for miles. Free camping and pull offs everywhere. Perfect for van life. BC, Yukon, and Northwest Territories are amazing too. You could spend years wondering around up here.
