This video brings back bad memories of one winter camping in the snow while it was raining (Cub Scouts or Boy Scouts, I forget which) I decided it was too cold to dress in dry clothes and I climbed into my knapsack soaking wet. It was the longest night of my life waking up every forty-five minutes until dawn and we could go the heck home.
Kara you're killing the editing game on these vlogs...y'all captured the beautiful sounds of nature so beautifully. Ah, this series has easily become my favorite and love the longer lengths also.
My late husband and I had the privilege of enjoying Antarctica about 6 yrs ago. You remind me of us. So glad you enjoyed your time there. An awesome and humbling experience.
When y’all met back in high school did you ever, in a million years, think you’d end up sleeping in Antarctica after seeing 100 countries over 4 years together?
I live in Canada too, and we don't fear a little cold.. but this series totally makes me wanna go too, Antarctica officially made it to my bucket list!
robin denner I was surprised when he said that night was only going to be below freezing at -1 deg C.... winters elsewhere are worse. I always thought Antarctica’s summer would still reach way below that.
No kidding! I've been to the brazilian amazon, and it was crazy seeing the nightsky where there is literally close to 0 light pollution, and going to bed at night seeing the Southern Cross! I'd never been to the southern hemisphere before, looking up and seeing a different sky, and the constellations that you know "backwards" in the sky was quite the treat! (Wasnt too far south, so I could still see the big dipper, but from a totally different perspective.)
The "toilet tour" was terrific and cracked me up. What an amazing night on Antarctica! I couldn't get over how cool the sounds of the icebergs/glacier cracking was!
When I started watching y’all 4 years ago, I had no idea that this would be one of my favorite channels on TH-cam! I’ve always loved y’all’s energy. It is just so strong and pure that it comes right through the camera. 💕
to be honest most people would love to travel like that, and searching for person like that, sadly we are in different countries or even continents from each other and probably will never even meet in our lifetimes.... i bet each person has its yin and yan in world :)
I'm really jealous seeing you guys enjoying every single moment of life. Your Antarctic series brought tear in my eyes , how beautiful our mother nature is. God bless you both ♥️
Now, this would be the ultimate Netflix and chill date. Life is made up of a series of memories, both good and bad, and they are what define us. And, the memory of this overnight camping trip to Antarctica will be a special memory you can share with your kids and grandkids someday. I admire you guys and your adventurous spirit. It's always special to share a fond memory with someone you love and care for. You two show genuine love and affection for each other and it's a wonderful thing to see. Just imagine, Kara, it's 50 years in the future and you're lying in bed next to Nate discussing your guys attempt to summit Everest the next morning when you both go into a laughing jag over the time 50 years prior when Kara was unable to use the toilet because she couldn't get its lid open. My best to both of you wonderful people. Stay safe and stay healthy, folks. Yer the best.
So I just started watching your videos a couple of days ago, and I just wanted to say that I really appreciate your constant toilet reviews. I've travelled a lot and I actually consider this a really big deal. There is nothing better during a stressful, sweaty, freezing, or blazing hot day of travel than finding some immaculately clean and cozy bathroom arrangement somewhere. This is probably why I go to Japan a lot. Because I rate countries and travel experiences based almost exclusively on how well thought out the toilet arrangement is.
I just have one request for you guys. The sounds of nature or rather the lack of sounds in Antarctica is so... I can't even put in words. If you guys don't put background music while you are outdoors in Antarctica, it would be awesome. Awesome video by the way. These Antarctic videos are so special.
RJ B When they are showing the scenery, all you hear is the chirping of birds, the natural sounds of that area. Where they're at is not so silent apparently.
Your videos keep me motivated to plan my travels once we get to the other side of Covid. Brilliant. Also, I really admire how you guys keep it all natural and relatable w/o trying to be experts in everything. Keep shining. All the very best.

Seeing you both get ready in the morning in a room much more spacious than your typical living arrangements. Y’all stood side by side, back to back just like you were in the van! So funny 😂
Kara is simply THE cutest, girliest woman i have ever seen! Specially when she says "I'm impressed with your skills Nate... ready to do my bed for me?!" Hahahahaha loved the look! :D
Thank you for remembering to share your morning coffee delivery when you returned to the ship! When you pulled the bivvy away from Kara's face...I thought "where's the coffee???" 😂 Thank you for sharing those sweet moments with us. 🥰
Woow so amazingly beautiful 😀 my husband was a seaman for 25 years in National Geographic Endeavor and most of the time their routes were there in Antarctica. But he's so lazy and have no time filming of even taking pictures of the places. He's just focused on his work. But now after seeing your video I realized how blessed he is because he would be able to see all those things. It's as if I traveled with him because of your vlog. Thank you so much🥰 now I know how Antarctica looked like 👍👍
Camping in the snow with a beautiful view that's something to cherish. You guys were really leaving beautiful memories of each place you've been to. Such an inspiration.
Sooo excited to announce I am traveling to THE SWISS ALPS in January with a layover in ICELAND!! KARA AND NATE: You have made my dreams a reality!!! I am beyond inspired to get out there again and continue my travels! Living in this small town of no-wheres-ville New Hampshire can prove tough for a middle aged divorcee. But your videos have continued to provide me with true INSPIRATION!! You continue to be my true heros! Much love and support from small town girl in NH.
Falling asleep to those magical sounds of Antarctica, esp. Hearing the whales spouting in the distance, must've been surreal. I hope and pray I'm lucky enough to this someday. Thank you for sharing this amazing experience 💖🌌❄🌠🐧🐳
There was a big smile on my face towards the end when Nate handed Kara her morning coffee.. Kara can be the official global ambassador of Coffee.. period. 👍☕️
I have to thank you for taking me places I'm unable to go to myself. You truly help me get through each day. The Antarctic has always been one of my top plces I would have loved to have gone. I have been ill for sometime. I have MS, my kidneys like to fail, and congestive heart failure,... You two are wonderful to watch. You are great at taking me along with you and you are both excellent at relaying the information that help others to know the what, when, or where of the trips you have taken. This probably sounds corny, but you brighten my days, make me laugh when I really need it, and well, you help me more than I can say when I'm having a rough day. When this pandemic is under control I pray that you will be back on the road, water, or sky again. If you, some day, have a family, I would love see what kind of things you can plan and do. You two would be awesome to travel with.
I discovered yall's channel during quarantine and have been watching your videos non stop! You guys have been filling my travel bug void during this time of uncertainty. You guys make awesome videos and have great personalities that put a smile on my face every night. I can't wait to see what you guys post next! Hope ya'll are staying safe. Lots of love from Austin, TX! :)

Hey guys, I’m not sure if you will see this but I just wanted to say a big thank you for your videos. I’ve been going through a really rough patch and your videos have kept me going, to keep pushing forward in the hopes of an adventure like this. So a big thank you- for all the effort and the great content. It’s so heartwarming to see a new upload each time, like a greeting from an old friend:)
“First rule of surviving in the arctic, you sweat; you die.” Shouldn’t be a problem Nate, considering you’re in the Antarctic. But bless his goofy soul.
♧ Degenerate Beauty Queen ♤ - I think he meant whilst sleeping. In which case, you very well can sweat and overheat if you’re too layered up, even in Antarctica. That’s why they stripped down before going to sleep.
J H Yes I understood what he meant, I just thought I’d make a little sarcastic remark. I meant no harm, as I’m sure Kara and Nate know what they’re doing by now. At least I’d hope so haha.
Katie M I haven’t seen a “What’s in my suitcase” video, but since they’re limited in terms of packing, I’d hope they’d have a bunch of merino wool clothing! The plus to it is that it doesn’t stink up after continuous wear, unlike many other types of fabric.
You're all missing the point i think haha, OP wasn't "remarking" on the sweating part, but the fact he said the arctic (north pole) when they're in antartica (south pole).
According to their insta Kara said theyre currently self isolating in Singapore since they dont have their own house and it wouldnt be safe to possibly expose people at home
Antarctica is prob the only place on the planet where you don’t have to worry about covid19.... because no one lives there. Of course they’re essentially on a cruise ship, during all of this.

I’ve been going through a really rough patch and your videos have kept me going, to keep pushing forward in the hopes of an adventure like this. So a big thank you- for all the effort and the great content. It’s so heartwarming to see a new upload each time, like a greeting from an old friend:)
I hope everything gets better for you soon, Grace! ❤️ Really glad our videos could help you smile 😊
“First rule of surviving in the arctic, you sweat; you die.”
Shouldn’t be a problem Nate, considering you’re in the Antarctic.
Not if you wear merino wool
Katie M I haven’t seen a “What’s in my suitcase” video, but since they’re limited in terms of packing, I’d hope they’d have a bunch of merino wool clothing! The plus to it is that it doesn’t stink up after continuous wear, unlike many other types of fabric.
You're all missing the point i think haha, OP wasn't "remarking" on the sweating part, but the fact he said the arctic (north pole) when they're in antartica (south pole).
The amount of joy in these videos are great
“if a sleeping bag and a rain jacket had a baby” HAHAHAHAHAHA
Oh my god it looks soooooo damn cold guys!!!
It's my dream to visit Antarctica one day😍
He must be just @ Bored Af
I love your name. Lol.
Camping there sounds like an epic experience, I wouldn’t mind the temps
best idea ever right here. Kara and Nate if you see this, take notes :)
Kara's voice is so sweet and wholesome she could literally be a voice actress in one of Disney's animation films 😊
Omg even filmed how you're in toilet😂😂😂😂
Nothing I have ever wanted to do but I am enjoying your experience.
Wwe
"You ready to do mine now?!?" Lol. SAME, Kara, SAME. 😂
I’m sure you’ve been asked this several times already, but how’s COVID-19 affecting your travels/what’s your opinion on it?
hi kyle-arkin
Nanoking Plays hi arkin -Kyle
Cheaper plane tickets
According to their insta Kara said theyre currently self isolating in Singapore since they dont have their own house and it wouldnt be safe to possibly expose people at home
Antarctica is prob the only place on the planet where you don’t have to worry about covid19.... because no one lives there. Of course they’re essentially on a cruise ship, during all of this.
It's a good feeling seeing the two of you falling in love with each other everytime you both accomplished something. Good vibes.
When will TH-cam have a ‘love’ button cause I absolutely love this video
