I love this place! Sandboarding is so much fun, it was great to see you guys give it a go 👍 there’s a great waterfall nearby called Zapata falls which is definitely worth checking out too
We drove past the pulloff for Zapata Falls but we didn't stop there! I wish I did. We will have to go back and do more next time :D
Thank you for the share my friend,
Wonderful Great Sand Dunes National Park
Nice Tour and have a nice day my friend..
Thank you! You too!
Wow! Awesome country, great video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
My daughter Maricruz is visiting this spectacular tourist site today. I see it is a place that is really worth visiting.
Rafael Pereira, from Turrialba Costa Rica.
thank you!
Wow great sand boarding. Looks fun. I would love to be there to enjoy the dunes. Beautiful sharing. Glad to be here friend 🤝🤗
Thank you so much 😁
Beautiful mountain back drop....When there's no snow the sand boarding is a lot of fun!!
yes! i have tried snow boarding one time and sand boarding one time, i think i liked sand boarding more because it's easier to strap the board on and it hurts less when you fall!
Very nice vlog. Good fun in the sand dunes. The horse riding in the dunes looked so cool. Greetings and a new follower of your vlog. Keep posting cool videos.👍
I did a night hike to be at the top of the tallest dune for sunrise. It was amazing. Thanks for sharing your experience.
That is awesome! :O Was it super cold when you hiked that early?
@@TravelSzN We were there the early part of September and it was cool but not cold early morning. Best part is that there is little wind in the morning compared to the afternoon to kick up the sand.
@@ParksandPlacesOnline Aw that is awesome! I noticed it did get windier in the afternoon each day. Thanks for sharing that you did that- I never even thought to try that hike before sunrise! So cool!
Visited the GSDNP several years ago...we'd heard about surfing so we brought our Snow Saucers...didn't work at all, need to get the boards and give them a good waxing. Then we got into a gully washer...pouring down rain...that river was just like the woman said, stretched from the Parking lot to out near the dunes...but it was not more than a foot deep and very easy to cross. We had the most fun hiking up the steep dunes and running down...all in all a very unique great NP.
GSDNP is one of my favorite places to fly kites & I try to go there everytime I'm in the SLV. I might be moving to Alamosa soon too!
Wonderful Great Sand Dunes National Park...nice Tour and have a nice day ny friend 👌🙏
Thank you so much 👍
Hello, my new friend.
Wow, that's a fantastic and healing ❤💙💜 video.
Especially the scenery of nature is as beautiful as Mars.
I'm glad to be your great channel friend 💗💝🌿
Have a lucky 💝🌳💘🌺🌷💙❤💚💜💖 day
👍👍👍🤙👌
thank you!
Dark sky location too, see the milky way! (which is the byline on their national park poster) Occasional talks on stars and stuff in the evening. Fun watching the sand do that hourglass thing. Also have eggs and green chilis (I think) at the Oasis for breakfast. good stuff.
Great sands seems like such a neat place! I feel like having sand everywhere would get so annoying at a point though, but getting to explore somewhere like Tatooine makes it totally worth it! And those sandboards look so fun too! What a wild sport!
Haha yes!! I had to look up Tatooine but Nate immediately knew what you were talking about. It was a ton of fun, thanks for watching!
Wonderful video my friend! 🙂👍 Thank you for sharing!
Good times equal to great memories on this video!!!!!
yes! thanks very much!
Looks like a lot of fun guys👍🙂 and the stacking on the dunes was quite entertaining too😆! I bet you slept well that night🥱. Great video👍

thank you Frank!
Beautiful place Bit of a learning curve for sand boarding You are so right about the comparison of the dunes and a beach Nice upload 👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it :D it was a lot of work to walk on those dunes!
Always have to try new things. The sand boarding looks difficult, but super fun to try! Love the sunset sky.
Agreed! Trying new things is great :D. Sand boarding was tough, but fun! :)
Its such a nice view! You get to see the sand dunes and at the same time the alps with snow!
Thanks for showing us around!
Looking forward to your new uploads

Glad you enjoyed it! thank you May :)
I think you mean the Rocky's. Is this Colorado or Europe?
That sandboarding looks like great fun! And as you say, a nice soft landing when you fall 😁 All the best👍
yes - it is extra fun when falling does not hurt! lol
Spectacular, I really want to go, but I have some mobility issues, so I think I’ll live vicariously through your video.😌

Glad you enjoyed!
Wow! These dunes are amazing! I woud like to try sandboarding :-) Big like from Switzerland!
Thank you very much!
I’m almost done watching your video. And I will watch the whole thing really great video. I’m on my way to great Sand dunes at the moment. This was actually my first national park that I ever went to in 2016 when I started traveling about six years ago. I’m finally back and trying to make content for TH-cam so I’m super excited to be back with a little bit more of a purpose For video creation. The first time that I went I was actually just on my way to Yellowstone and that really is the only thing that was on my mind and I stopped at other national parks along the way. I’m super excited this time and again great job on the video I’m going to subscribe to your channel
thank you! have a great time back at Great Sand Dunes! We also visited a bunch of places before we started our TH-cam channel and we have to go back with an effort to record more for the channel! lol
That is an awesome National Park. Never heard of this one before. The dunes are pretty high. I loved the funny sandboarding part and I can imagine that it is kind of exhausting climbing up those dunes several times. You did a little better than Nate, Stoof, even with the camera stick in your hands.😉 Great video again, my dear friend. A joy and fun to watch. Best wishes, Michael.👏👍
haha thanks for recognizing the camera! it was tough to board while holding that thing! hahah. have an awesome day Michael!
Love it! Working on our video of the Great Sand Dunes now!
aw nice, did you guys like the park?
@@TravelSzN yup it was great! Not a ton to do so glad we only booked a night there.
Beautiful people! Beautiful trip! Love it!
thanks very much!
You should snowboard down the Indiana dunes and at the bottom you can go straight into the water and start surfing on your snowboard. Haha
Such a great video, thank you!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome video . I visited it in the month of June .
thanks very much! glad you liked it!
Wow, absolutely awesome dunes! I would ride on this board.
yeah it is a lot of fun! thanks for watching :)
Wow great 👍 it’s amazing vlog
thanks very much!
Amazing video! Keep it up!!
Thanks! You too!
Hi. Great video. How far of walking from the parking lot to the sand. Thanks
It varies all the time due to the winds continuously carrying the sand grains and depositing them in new places. Sometimes there is even a shallow creek flowing between the parking lot and dunes. For our visit in April 2021, it was about a dry 10 minute walk from the parking lot to the spot where we could dune-board.
Very nice.Big like from me my friend 👍👍
Have you been to the White Sand National Park in New Mexico and Death Valley Sand Dunes? I wonder which one is better. The White Sand in NM was really beautiful with white sand, this one looks muddy. Great video though, thanks!
I have always wanted to go to White Sands (even before it became a National Park!) We were supposed to go last year but changed our plans due to house renovations and covid. I have not been to Death Valley either (that was also on our original planned trip for last year). Hoping to visit these parks in the next few years. If you want to visit one of these places in the summer months, I'd probably go with White Sands because it will be a little cooler than Death Valley. If you want to have a trip with lots of different hiking and driving viewpoints, Death Valley is a much larger park and there might be more things to do there. Hope that helps :)
@@TravelSzN thanks for the reply. I have been to White Sand NP in NM. That is why I was wondering if this one in Colorado was worth seeing. Death Valley is one of my favorite, I should say is an all-in-one park because every point is different. Although I didn't get to see the sand dunes and the crater, plan to go back in the future. I visited in December, the weather was perfect. You will love it! Keep on the adventures and videos coming!
@@janjaylangelo4 aw man that's awesome you have been to both of those! I'm sure I'll love them when I finally get to see them. Great Sand Dunes in CO was a smaller park with one main parking area to access the dunes, but you can also hike the surrounding mountains and raft on the creek in the summer months! I would recommend it to anyone that likes a variety of outdoor fun :)
amazing dunes!!
Nice cool video
Beautiful pleace 💪😁👍7.
Thanks
thank you Anna!

Thank you for the share my friend.
And succes for u❤👍
Thanks for visiting!
holy shit great painting
Thanks so much!
Planning on going here as well. What did you do with the dog while in the park?
We have an air conditioned RV, so we left him at home while we visited and dune boarded. Dogs are allowed in the main day use areas in this park though, so you are welcome to bring your pup! :) more info about dogs in GSDNP: www.nps.gov/grsa/planyourvisit/pets.htm
@@TravelSzN Thanks very much for the information and the link!
I have a family that might love it to .
Saw this on the back of a quarter
cool. It much harder on sand than snow.
It is definitely easier to get the board off because you don't have to strap it to a snowboarding boot, but going down the hill was pretty tough! haha
What company are your sunglasses?
I wish I knew the brand - I got them at a Target near Montrose CO!
Wow~ great sand dune!!
Riding board in the sand looks fun and safe. Riding a horse in the sand looks fun and safe, too.
And having a creek in the sand dune is wonderful!!🤗
Absolutely awesome. Just join your channel.See you.
Thanks and welcome :)
What time of the year did you go?
Spring - late March/ early April
Can you rent boards at the information centre?
I'm not sure, maybe someone else watching will know and they can comment here!
Go Pens. Kool video!
Hoping for a great season next year!! Lets Go Pens! :D

hahaha yep there was sand everywhere!!
Like 👍👍😘😘❤️❤️
Thank you 🤗
I never knew such a thing exists inland. I’m not too old to be educated
yep it is pretty amazing! The geologic history is really interesting if you'd like to read about how those dunes got there: www.nps.gov/grsa/learn/nature/sanddunes.htm
My 70 year old friend went to 😊the top.on foot
