It's so sad that the current state of the game leaves a lot of room for storytelling but honestly only room for sad endings since there's no NPCs officially available.Of course that's just kinda how the game is: it only ends in death one way or the other. Still, folks like you and Werlias have a lot of talent in still telling good stories like this using the game.
I mean, they are getting close on the animal update and still are working on the NPC update along with further advancements so we can make our own “Alexandria” or “Hill Top” with windmills and such, so our “death” would be one of having survived the apocalypse, helping rebuild, and dying of old age, a new bright day awaiting the children of the apocalypse.
But really hope they can hit close to this when the npcs are added, just the feels in that one word Noey, the silly names that someone gives to their significant other, that one word grounded the characters so much, gave them so much life, even if in just written form.

Upon world generation, which admittedly will take a bit longer with this new system, it will generate both unique NPCs (set characters like the former Tutorial characters) and generic NPCs (Built from scratch). In this generation it sets up their job, where they would be at the time of the game’s start, what lead them there, if they are married, how many family members do they have, where they are, would they go try to save them, their home, their vehicle, etc. So for example you could be by Rosewood, trying the usual runs there, meanwhile you could come across the surviving firefighters either trying to help the sick and injured, trying to evacuate them, killing the undead, or trying to catch up with their families and flee town.
Man, I've seen all of the zomboid stories and this is the best. Great narration! Great editing! Great story and so easily digestible. Fucking made me feel somethjing at the end, big ooft. Please make more!

Stumbled upon your first 30 days video and was incredibly entertained. You couldnt imagine my happiness when i saw that you had also JUST uploaded. This video was incredible and one that deserves incredible traction on this godforsaken platform. You're an incredible story teller and a good editor to boot. I just got into this game recently as well, maybe 2 months ago, i currently have over 150 hours and its still my favorite game ever, i cant stop playing it regardless of the neverending heartbreak.
Same. I found this game 2 years ago. And even though I'm super busy. I squeeze in 4 hours a week to play it. I love the game so much and it hits on everything I love about a game. I ended up giving my ps4 to my son since I hadn't touched it in forever. Love love love this game.
with my playtime of 650+ hours. The true horror and survival begins when you add mods such as 12months later, 75% less food loot, and extremely rare all loot. electricity and water shut off after 30 days for a chance to actually survive, advance zombie settings are up to you, but I recommend setting zombie respawn to 0, so you won't get frustrated after clearing up your base. goodluck in surviving up to winter!
Turning off zombie respawn ruins the zombie peak day modifier though so I'd suggest setting it to 1% of the base rate instead with a 1 month unseen cool down.

I did something similiar in my playthrough, pretented my character was living in Rosewood when it started, his parents and brother where still in West Point and Louisville respectively, set out to find them, but got killed before I could make halfway to West Point lol
that was a beautiful story, realistic ending... I feel sorry for Noah's circumstance.. he could've been something if he had purpose.. losing that made him lose himself...

You could do this a series "custom story series project zomboid (insert character name/episode name)" or something like that, could be a monthly or bimonthly video Also if you make it a series there will be no need to clarify if its made by you or if it was a viewer's choice or whatever it might be Also also that voice acting was pretty damn good, i lowkey got my eyes watery, the narration was pretty good too, really immersive Overall an amazing job dude can't wait for more i just hope youtube sent me a notification next time you upload
I really love these narrated survivor stories, ever consider doing a series in this similar frame? No has done something like it yet and you seem to have the format down pretty good.
Hey! if you're looking for a good Mod that lets you have survivors, I'd recommend Subpar Survivors, it gives to a menu to access on the pause menu that lets you decide how often and how man survivors you have a chance on coming across
You do an excellent job of explaining your first impressions with the game and how you interact with new systems. Being a surprisingly old game, project zomboid sometimes suffers from a tunnel vision on the experience for new players. I think this is one of the better survival games out there, and I want it to find a broader audience. I would be interested to hear your thoughts while you are still a newish player on ways the game could be improved. The next update is supposed to be huge, I have a feeling we're going to get an influx of people.
