Hey guys, I wanted to address this as it has been bought up in the comments several times regarding the difficulty, and I agree…the settings here were too easy. This wasn’t my intention. As a new player, I wanted a solid “Project Zomboid” experience, but not so difficult that I could not learn the game's mechanics. You made the most entertaining newbie experience of a game I've ever watched. If you've any questions I've played so much the past month I can speedrun, there's a lot of hidden mechanics and little tricks.
For your first runs ever in Project Zomboid, you did shockingly well! My first runs never even got past day one, let alone surviving until the helicopter event
@@ki2xler502 i found a nice quiet place in a dark bathroom with no windows when i heard the sound my first time since i already saw people mentioned to avoid it as much as possible. granted it took me a few characters dying before i even managed to get to that event as i was learning what to do.
@@Gold_Roberto just don't get hit lol /hj I always take it tho, i usually only die to zombies if i get surrounded and eaten alive, i don't remember the last time i died to zombification, as long as you have good awareness and know where you and where the undead are you can avoid every hit by just outpacing them; it's not like you'll survive very long if you take hits sometimes, even if the chances aren't 75 but 7%, it's still a gamble and you could die on the first scratch
Hey, veteran of 500 hours here, 1. You can use the trunk of the car to damage zombies. It breaks the trunk however. 2. I always use the loot run if I spawn in rosewood - Garages (Anywhere) Pick up hammer and screwdriver - Fire Station Pick up jacket and trousers and an axe - Police Station Dissasemble armory doors and profit. 3. Cabbages are the best food. Always grow em. You did really, really well for your first two playthroughs. Seriously. Most new players die within a day xD.
BBQ does not make damage to the player if u use them indoors, also it doesn't spread fire. BBQs are a good option for cooking without an oven, given that it consumes any type of wood, including scraps, or charcoal. Aside from that, don't use campfires inside, they spread fire in wooden floors. I don't remember if they harm you when indoors usage, but given that even u can catch fire from it, I personally don't recommend using it.

@@howitzer4041 You have to sleep for 12 hours a day instead of 9. It's just more fun to be able to sleep less, you can squeeze in more looting and most importantly, you're less likely to get tired while fighting zombies. Even the first level of tiredness lowers your damage by whopping 50%.
Definitely keep playing it even after many deaths! The beautiful thing about Zomboid is that the character doesn’t get stronger. You Do. Many many hours in and I’ve become a master of “Survivalism” learning how to survive with as little as I have. Definitely keep it up!

Loved the video! I thought I’d let you know it is possible to tow vehicles, to do it you park one car behind the other and walk up between them. Hold down V and if the positioning is correct then the option to attach one vehicle to the other will appear.
me and my pal been smashing pz recently and we both absolutely love it . We drove to the military base thats off the the map on a foggy night , was one of the best times ive had on a game . The fact u can get your run finished at any point makes it super intense and looting everywhere is so immersive . 10/10
Nice play. You can plumb a sink to a water barrel above which gives you clean drinking water. It's a bit complicated at first but it's a great option once the water is turned off. To do it you need a plumbers wrench.
If you go in your inventory and drag the baseball bat or any other weapon into slot one you can equip it on your back so you don’t need to rush to your inventory. Also you can equip your hammer onto your Belt. Good video very entertaining :)
The thing I love about this game is that while it is very difficult, every time you die its always because of something you did. The zombies are actually really stupid and the better you get the easier it is to literally and figuratively run circles around them. You learn from your mistakes and do a little better each time.
One of my favorite games, very frustrating while at the same time very satisfying. You should do a playthrough, it's definitely worth the effort. Project Zomboid has a huge fan base, and I'm sure I'm not the only one looking forward to your next episode. All the best Cheers.
I can't get enough of this game. It's like watching a million different simultaneous dice rolls that all stop at once, but instead of numbers, the dice just tell you to go fuck yourself
I like how you approached the game you did sandbox because that's a common mistake for new players. They either jump in at survivor get killed by a muncher gets frustrated rage quits and complains the game is hard. The game doesn't intentionally kill you, it just stacks the odds against you, but it's never unfair if anything Project Zomboid encourages you to think twice of what you're doing next. It's not minecraft spawn in punch tree mine coal and get iron armor and food. In Project Zomboid its pretty realistic in a sense of what would a regular schmuck do in a zombie apocalypse? And yes the attention in detail of this game is outright bonkers at times, I am happy to see new players try this game out. "This is how you died" that's one truth the game tells you anyway cause you gon die :)
I'm queued to watch the PZ vid you uploaded 16 hours ago and now I'm more excited to do so. I love your narrative! For someone who constantly watches gameplay (due to fright of playing), it felt so immersive and real. It's always good to have that first-time feeling when you play a game or do something. This was it. Looking forward for more PZ gameplay!
Great job man this video is amazing! Can't wait to see more of it! And don't worry about the difficulty settings, it's very customizable so it's quite easy to overlook a setting that might be beneficial in making it harder. All of your experiences with the game are just practice and progress so no worries, it'll pay off in the end.
1. lighters have fuel and are multiple use, but you have to put it away. 2. you can repair and even fortify your clothing with stuff like leather straps and cloth straps for added protection. 3. Electronics and Carpentry are your best friends, herding zombies around fences and alot of people either use multiple walls of fences, or what I call "barricades" (which is a fence, followed by a crate, followed by another fence.) to deal with hordes.
You need to boil rainwater on the bbq using a cooking pot or saucepan for it to be safe. Or the easiest would be is to get water dispensers in offices/schools. You can refill those with boiled rainwater too. Or you can plumb a sink, one floor below from a water collector. Thats tricky since the water collector should be one floor above and one tile behind/front/side but not directly above the sink. Plumbed sink automatically filters the water so its safe to drink.
21:37 Towing actually does exist, what you need to do is put both cars behind each other, with some reasonable spacing, then press and hold V, it'll bring up a little ui where you can then attach the two vehicles together, this also works with trailers, for extra storage capacity on loot runs
I leave you some tips: With the "V" you enter the vehicle menu (inside the car you can change seats and access things like the car radio, outside the car you can do things like tow cars or refuel them.
Sorry if my English is very bad, I'm studying it and I like to watch videos in English to learn, I can understand the videos perfectly, but it's still hard for me to speak the language
You did amazing for your first couple of runs! It took me at least a week to get somewhat competent at the game. Some tips for the game, you can hotkey weapons to 1, 2, 3, etc... by clicking on them in your inventory and selecting "put on back", or "put in holster". If you put a flashlight on your belt you can even have in turned on without needing to hold it. Another tip for barricading your base, always barricade on the outside of your windows instead of the inside because it is easier to rebuild a barricade instead of replacing your window. I also recommend that, in the setting you can turn "hit outline" or something like that to always be on sinsted of set to just firearms. This will help you tell which zombie you are aiming at or trying to shove. I hope you enjoy the wonderful game that is zomboid!
great narration. i think you'll end up really liking this game. also, pro tip: space your crops out. dont plant em next to each other. this will prevent disease from spreading and completely destroying the rest of your crops. another pro tip: plumbing. build a water barrel 1 floor above and 1 tile adjacent to the sink below. its important that its not built directly above the sink. then you need a pipe wrench and water in the barrel. right click the sink and choose "plumb sink" option. fresh, clean drinking water. as far as using the generator, you need to read the "how to use generators" skill magazine

I just started playing last weekend. 7 lives later I am now in the exact position you're in minus the garden. I'm in that warehouse but have 2 generators and all of the kitchen gear from the restaurant on the north end of town. I'll be getting wood from the lumberyand to the west for a fence project. Love this game. I'm also playing realtime so the days go by slowly unless I sped the time up.
Ah good ol' "i wish i could tow a car", reminds me of my first time playing, took me a good while to find the vehicle menu (press V near a vehicle) with which you can totally tow cars. Not a car nut by any mean but now after playing a couple hundred hours i love repairing and maintaining my cars in this game. Nice video and an absolutely amazing first time you had there!
Towing a vehicle is possible, you just have to back a vehicle up into a car with more weight, then hold V in between the two cars Additionally, if you press Z you can change seats in the car
About the TVs- if you set the channel to the news and tune in daily, you get all kind of lore about the apocalypse, as well as why all the channels go off the air after 7-9 days
I’m sure I’m not the only person to point this out (and you’ve probably already figured it out by now) but you are able to tow vehicles. You just need to get them close enough and open the context action menu. You did a LOT better than I did on my first run. I just stayed in my spawn house until starvation guided me towards the Promised Land: the West Point Gigamart. Immediately after doing so, however, I caught a cold and died.
bro your incredible as a newbie my first 5 games didnt even make it over 2 days, your voice is calming as a newbie you deserve no backlash for using easy settings
I love your videos, is original and different to common gameplays. I like how you narrate the stories, I really immerse into them. Keep doing it please!
you just experienced the best survival game on steam by far 🙂 and the tv shows starts at 6 am, 12 am and 6 pm. nice video, nice voice, nice story telling. great work btw towing cars is in the game :D just drive a car behind another and stay between the cars and press "V" to enter the vehicle-menu. there you have to click on the blue "+" ;-)
Great video! But I play zomboid to and I leave the lights on and they dont really react to the lights. But Im pretty sure it will help zombies see you without a curtain. But great video! You earned another subscriber! Edit: Also I would Reccomend using the Obesity perk due to it will let you live longer without food. And gives a nice amount of points
Spawning in Muldraw priorities:1. Find sledgehammer 2. Head to Police station and break into armoury 3. find and fortify a base 4. spend ~100 days fortifying and gathering supplies at base 5. once base is fully formed and town has been emptied of supplies, travel to neighbouring town, rinse and repeat. My longest streak surviving was about 1900ish days. Dying was a releif; I died from jumping out a window by mistake xD
If you head to the bottom right from the fenced home on your 2nd spawn, then to the northeast on the road, follow it then head up to the top left and follow the dirt path and you will find a farmhouse, it has plenty of space, multiple buildings including a shed and barn, and a large fenced area for farming. It’s secluded too, so zombies won’t bother you. However, there’s a lot of zombies on the road, and it’s far from any loot, so you will need a car.
this is your first run? props to you one tip in combat though: your character is aiming at the circle which is a bit lower which is not where your actual cursor was before aiming, not so user friendly i know crazy thing is, that circle didn't even exist up until recent versions
You can actually tow vehicles by putting one closely in front of the other and then pressing V between them. Also when you grow crops, let them continue growing after they're fully grown and they will bear seeds. I really enjoyed this video, and I definitely recommend you play more Project Zomboid. You can also enable an outline on the zombies so you know when you can hit them.
That chopper left me running for days. It was early and it didnt stop. Each safehouse gave me couple minutes of rest. Untill my car broke down and I was forced to run in the woods. I kept going going untill I couldnt and started fighting. I killed and killed and was prepared for the hundreds of zombies but after killing 7 zeds there were no more. The chopper was above me while I survived on larva, worms and evolved to stone age. After weeks in nature and the chopper still above me I risked it and went back to my car. Each time if there were zombies they come, it was like a alarm that didnt stopped. Best game ever and turning the chopper always is the way to go if u seek hardcore survival. U could mute the chopper sound and imagine that zombies can smell u instead hearing the chopper.
You probably know this already but try to use radial menu near and in cars, you can tow a vehicle, change seats within cars, turn on a heater during winter, syphon fuel from one car to another etc. Leveling up mechanics and metalworking helps to keep your cars in shape.
Lighters are always on when equiped and will run out of fuel. Matches are safer option. You can tow vehicles, park your towing vehicle in front of what you want to tow and go between the vehicles and press "V" for interface. Then press "+" and connect vehicles.
If this was indeed your 2nd video ever posted on YT, you've done an incredible job. Entertaining video, solid editing, no fillers or bullshit. Overall, this shows a lot of potential, if you're willing to invest the time. Best of luck!
0:45 "My character would be a mechanic" 7:08 "I couldn't help notice all the cars around, but I didn't know anything about them" Yeah, sounds like some mechanics I've met. :D

I really enjoyed your voice, play style, and your narration. Hope to see more.
Oh, and you CAN tow cars. And trailers.
the "right in the family jewels" and proceed zooming in had me choked in laughing.
About the TVs- if you set the channel to the news and tune in daily, you get all kind of lore about the apocalypse, as well as why all the channels go off the air after 7-9 days
You can tow cars! I was dying watching you run back and forth
I was like "great i can't wait to see him learning the basics" then saw enough food to hold an entire winter x)
"Slain by a bite to the Knackers..." Truer words.
bro your incredible as a newbie my first 5 games didnt even make it over 2 days, your voice is calming as a newbie you deserve no backlash for using easy settings
I love your videos, is original and different to common gameplays. I like how you narrate the stories, I really immerse into them. Keep doing it please!
this type of editing is amazing
you are getting this game down pretty well, it took me ages to figure out how the game works and even after 400 hours im still learning stuff
My goodness, the zombie's bites always go for the groin, how comedic can this get man
you just experienced the best survival game on steam by far 🙂 and the tv shows starts at 6 am, 12 am and 6 pm. nice video, nice voice, nice story telling. great work
btw towing cars is in the game :D just drive a car behind another and stay between the cars and press "V" to enter the vehicle-menu. there you have to click on the blue "+" ;-)
I really enjoyed watching your video. Loved the story-telling!
Once you're mobile, finding a farmhouse is a nice idea for starting out. Trips to town for whatever.
This was cool! My first runs consisted of dying after I get too cocky fighting hordes, it's still happening tbh
@panic5 having alot of kills on a character usually makes me cocky 💀
In project zomboid, you are ALWAYS on the brink of disaster!
Your first 30 days are better than my last 30 runs
Great video! But I play zomboid to and I leave the lights on and they dont really react to the lights. But Im pretty sure it will help zombies see you without a curtain. But great video! You earned another subscriber! Edit: Also I would Reccomend using the Obesity perk due to it will let you live longer without food. And gives a nice amount of points
Thank you for making this! I’ve been wanting to see a normal play through for a while but they are all filled with mods!
The Zombie just aiming the for the family jewels. 🥶
As a new player, this is exactly what I need. I've watched other tutorials and this is the best.
I love watching how the character goes from scared, confused and soft to tough, skilled and smart
great narration man! i can see you making some tasty solo project zomboid roleplay
Congrats! You got me back into PZ now:)
this is your first run? props to you
one tip in combat though: your character is aiming at the circle which is a bit lower
which is not where your actual cursor was before aiming, not so user friendly i know
crazy thing is, that circle didn't even exist up until recent versions
This video convinced me to get Project Zomboid. Now looking to buy it when it goes on sale for Christmas :)
Great tip for combat, don't aim directly on the zombie, it's better to have your mouse behind them so your character isn't jumbled in close combat!
This option also raises your chance to headshot!
ty
Another tip you could use for next time, if you hold V behind a vehicle you can tow other vehicles
Gotta say your second spawn was really good, that house just needed a gate and it was secured
I survived for 12 hours in my first game. You did really really well. Great work
I feel like I'm watching a mix between a documentary and a comical satire on the game itself. Good idiolect.
Press V for the quick menu for the cars
I knew there would be a button somewhere for this, thanks!
@@ChlorophilG Using it you should be able to switch seats while in a car and tow other vehicles
If this was indeed your 2nd video ever posted on YT, you've done an incredible job.
Entertaining video, solid editing, no fillers or bullshit. Overall, this shows a lot of potential, if you're willing to invest the time.
Best of luck!
good quality ! you did amazing and ur video pace is perfect please continue!
0:45 "My character would be a mechanic"
7:08 "I couldn't help notice all the cars around, but I didn't know anything about them"
Yeah, sounds like some mechanics I've met. :D
Ran around yelling, baited the horde into a house, put a fork in the microwave, house burns down, area secure
I have 200+ hours in this game and never even thought to try and use a grill
I subscribed even though this was my first video. Please make some more!
This guy accomplished more in thirty in game days then I have in over 200 real life hours
Poor Bill didn't know he was a goner the second he was bitten. RIP Bill
