@aerodynamiccow3597 Never been any concerted effort or funding for a full on fleshed out game in the Spore style. Been many incomplete or smaller attempts that never went anywhere. 2 evolution stage based games I heard were in development within the last couple years but I've not seen any updates recently.
I just wanted to say, that thumbnail is the most fucking metal thing I've seen from any Spore video. I didn't even register it as a Spore creature at first lmao. I was NOT expecting the Ravenoids to be allies with the genocidal herbivores either, I thought they would be enemies because they sound like exactly the kind of species PETE hated. Loved the surprise tho lmao.
That twist at the end with the genocidal herbivores was unexpected but cool! Love how you're pretty much just making an expanded Spore universe now, thats just awesome. So good job with another great vid 👍
I'm glad you liked it. I didn't expect to find them there myself. I had previously read that old playthroughs are not present in the space stage when you start a new planet, which was obviously incorrect, I had been suspicious in the past, but this proved it. Thanks for the comment!
I thought for sure it would become an endless war, ending in a grim note of how hatred and violence only ever escalates itself. Little miffed, but the allies ending works too.
5:42 The bait and switch where you initially think the food being mentioned is the basket of oranges, before the sentence finishes and you realize that the basket is just the seasoning.
It'd be pretty amazing if, over many videos, you slowly whittle down the Grox with each species you create. Probably not worth it, mind, but it's a cool idea.
Hey man, great video, I’m a huge fan of your channel but I was wondering if you were gonna do another hundred days type video like what you did with stranded deep or just another video covering another survival game. Anyway keep up the good work.
I would love too, but with the time I have available it takes me 3 months or so to make a 100 days video, Stranded Deep did really well from a channel perspective but Enshrouded not so much. So I need to be careful what topics I choose, I do plan on covering more survival games as I feel like that's a common thread in all the games iv played on the channel, they are all survival scenarios of some kind.
I had forgotten how I found this amazing channel with the “Genocidal Herbivore”. Very glad I got recommended another vid to make me remember I subscribed😅
8:18 to this day I remember that I was fighting one species that held 2 planets next to each other. Everytime I destroyed and conquered one and moved to the second one they retook the first one. It was after multiple tries that I succeded or after I got some better weapons.
We set out to socialize with the locals by repeatefly biting them.... XDXDXD Thank you. You brought this gem of a game back to my memory. Installing itright now.
If any game needs a remake, it's this one. If they can nail the cute, wholesome exterior, while offering this level of granularity to create absolute monsters, it would do so well. Throw in a multiplayer aspect and I think it could seriously cook.
can you please do more rimworld videos, i know they don't do as well as other videos but i think there is a quite large ammount of fans that would love to see more storytelling videos like that. btw if you haven't bought the ideology dlc, i would recommend because of ammount of roleplaying you can do with it. have a great day.
Makes me imagine a Warhammer 40k Spore-like, where you design your own Tyranid to ravage the starts with. The creature stage is almost exactly like a Tyranid, killing other creatures(absorbing their biomatter) in order to collect their parts to use yourself(utelize their evolutionary characteristics). All it needs is Biopunk stages of Tribal, Civilization, and Space.
This game brother, my science teacher let me being my laptop to school so she could see the game because i told her about the theme of the game. Good memories, games with this much ambition will never be recreated
i am glad that spore is remembered to these days i played a spore java game on my flip-flop phone when i was like...9 i didn't know that it was spore but i really liked it and than accidentally deleted it and soon forgot four years passed and then i was looking to buy a creature creation game on steam, but i was still too young and couldn't buy so i asked my dad the game was everything to me so freaking good but my parents didn't understand so spore is love and life to me
Having a species bent on consumption and expansion reach the technological threshold of eliminating them as concepts certainly poses interesting narrative ideas. Wait, that's just star trek.
I adore spore. It was my childhood and i recently got back into it with mods that let me infinitely customise my creatures. The only thing i absolutely HATE is the space stage of spore. I don't understand how you have the patience to go through the space stage or as i like to call it: The bullshit stage.
Space stage makes up about 2/3 of the entire gameplay if not more, it's definitely the main part of the game. You can spend dozens of hours building up your empire and collecting stuff before even reaching the galactic core, while the first 4 stages you can literally rush through in 30 min each and then there's nothing new to explore. I personally love space stage, but I do wish they made the first 4 stages at least twice or 3 times longer as they are.
I'd love to see the devs take another crack at this game now with modern tech to try and make it what it was supposed to be, such a cool unique game even despite its flaws. Of course unique games like this don't tend to be made by big studios anymore.
This is how I'd always play Spore as a kid: Carnivore > Predator > Aggressive > Military > Warrior
Same. lol
Spiky, toothy, intimidating, and muscular species.
Us boys are simple creatures aren't we
i went exact opposite cause i felt bad for the other beach creatures lol

I prefer Omnivore than the rest cause i can eat anything
For the flaws Spore had, hands down the fact you could interact in real time with your other space empire saved games of yours, was peak gaming.
I wish there was a spore 2
The game was completely ingenious and massively replayable. It's genuinely mind-boggling no company has emulated the game, clearly money there.
@@joshydarroch There are plenty of knockoffs and ports of it, just usually its only the cell stage

Spore went through years of delays just to get out itself, pretty sure it was initially supposed to be more in depth then it ended up being.

At some point the galactic core is going to become a form of Saturn, guarded by rings of different species, with the Grox at the outside.
