The first to gauges in the instrument cluster was 1) Throttle percentage (left) and braking pressure (right) 2) Boost pressure.

Absolutely in love with my 17 Si Sedan in the modern metallic steel (aka gun metal grey)!
My city driving is around 32 mpg and that's some fun accelerations. Highway I have gotten up to 48 mpg!!!
Great review. I love the powerplant in this car. A simple tune turns it into quite a torque monster for a 1.5 while returning econobox MPGS. Old school vtec boys may hate it, but torque is more fun for the daily grind.

Drove the same color this week. I was very pleasantly surprised. The little 1.5T is torquey! Didn't care for not having a volume button or the typical Honda crazy gauge pod.

jimmydaves I got the sedan one. It was just more convenient for me to get the four door one. Its just a sporty as as the coupe and gets a lot of head turning. You wont go wrong with the sedan or the coupe. :)
I was all set to get the Honda Sport Hatch with manual transmission but you can't find them anywhere. I like the Hatch design more than the Coupe or Sedan. Plus the Sport Hatch was about 4000 lower in price. I've looked at the Hyundai Sport Hatch as well plus I'm checking out the new 2008 Hyundai GT Sport. I feel that Honda is probably a better car but at a price. Why did you get the Red Si over the Blue?

I'm tempted to do the same thing. I realize that I'm probably not going to find a Sport Hatch manual this year. My dealer has 10 of the Si's but none in blue. Did you get the sedan or coupe? How is the visibility inside the car?

Just bought a 17 Si and also have an 05 S2000. Two very different cars. The S2000 has no "bells and whistles" like the Si. It is a "seat of pants" car when you drive it. The Si is soft where the S2000 is not. The Si is linear in acceleration where the S2000 VTEC comes on with a crash at 6200 and goes to 8000 before you know it. Why did I buy the Si -- my wife wants me our of the S2000 so the Si was a compromise and a reasonable one at that. Already have a couple of buyers for the S2000 which I know I will miss. The S2000 is the best sports I have ever owned in my 76 years which includes a Sunbeam Tiger, a couple of C3 Vettes, a Prelude and a 1964 XKE.

I love the lower end power of this new 1.5T......how much drive time do you spend over 100mph anyway??
AND with surely higher gas prices on the horizon this 1.5T gets considerably better mpg than the Vtec.

Best combination of power and mpg for under $25,000!!
Honda underates the 1.5T at 205hp......its more like 220hp and 38mpg!!
I've seen over 40mpg keeping my foot out of it.
Curious to know: have you experienced any issues with the engine yet? I've heard rumors about carbon buildup and gasoline diluting the oil. Any of that?
Nice review spot on. Had a 2007 Ex Coupe and loved it. Wifey's 2005 Volvo 5 speed was overdue for replacement. Bought a red 2018 Si sedan just before we took a trip to Florida. Great ride, 3300 miles on the OD when we returned with avg MPG of just under 38. Great car, might get the Coupe when its time to let go of the Audi A5.

I recently bought a 2017 TLX, Here are reasons Honda/Acura sales person told me for phasing out lane watch:
1. Lane watch is not all time indicator for blind spot
2. Some insurance companies say Lane Watch is distraction
3. Cost Saving?
The Lane watch is actually really nice when driving at night. It switches into a sort of infrared mode which is helpful.

Don't know about that tall,thick, front end that suddenly slopes down at the very front. It just looks weird.Is this the new trend? The 2017 Mustang has the same design. I have to say it looks nice in that blue , which detracts from the weird fender lines a little bit.

This car is nice but here is the problem. Honda lied to us. They said this would be the fastest si ever. Motor trend hit 60 mph in 6.8 seconds. When they tested the 2013 si they hit 60mph in 6.3 seconds. I admit this would be a great commuter car but I'll spend my 25k on something more potent...maybe with a hatch
My round shift lights on my dash dont light up until about 4 or 5,000 rpm on my 18 SI......shouldn't they progressively light up from take off??

I wanted to like it, but I couldnt. At least from a fairly short test drive. The coupe and sedan both had horrible rear visibility. The clutch pedal had zero resistance. The shifter, oddly, felt too far back, but that could have been the seating position. The shifter itself was nice and positive though. Ill stick to my Fiesta ST.
1.5 turbo. Lol went against one the other day with my 99 Honda hatch back with a k20 stock. And I still whoop that 1.5 turbo ass. Shame

was almost a deal breaker for me honestly these people dont realize how much you use a knob over tapping a plus and minus button on a touch screen lol i havent used it once but its not so bad using the controls on the actual steering wheel

No VTEC. No extra horsepower and barely a bump in torque. Just another turbo car. Might as well get the Elantra Sport. Thanks Honda for ruining the Si. And it needs a g meter like OJ needs a knife set.

I have a 2018 SI Coupe, fun little ride.......don't like the cloth on the door arm rests and on the console area, gets dirty real quick, and the no volume knob.
