Jimmie is a legend. It was the end of an era for the 48 as well. There will never be another driver like him. i'm afraid we will have to wait for a long time till someone else gets 7 titles
Probably not too long if you think about it one win in regular season and you're in. Just do decent or get a win and you advance. Then at least finish ahead of three drivers. It's still difficult but way easier than it would be with the old points system.
I remember the playoffs being Taylor made for Jimmie while Lowe's was dumping big money into NASCAR.. They even renamed Charlotte "Lowe's Motor Speedway". Then, when Lowe's pulls out of the big $$$ contributions, Jimmie stops running well... What a coincidence.
That caution for the 32 flat tire was BS !! He was down on the apron , off the track and out of the way , no tire debri . Nascar had to find away to give Johnson his 7th , Carl Knew it when it happened , he had the championship taken away ! That's way Nascar is dying , they can pick and choose to their liking ! The head of Toyota Racing had a meeting with Nascar shortly after and let them know , he was NOT pleased , with the way the race ended !
Jimmie Johnson does not get to say he is on the level of Petty and Earnhardt. In their era you had to be the most dominant driver of the year (points) and earned the title. Johnson won in the "playoff" era where a driver who never won a single race all season could pull off the win in the last race and be considered the most dominant racer of the year. Its such BS. There were better drivers in his era who should have locked up the championship with their points throughout the season. Jimmie gets an asterisk next to his 7 championships.
Shut the F up jimmie Johnson is on the level with those legends look at the competition he went against he prevailed at the right times winning races in the playoffs
Kevin Harvick is the true 2016 champion
2:12:38 You can only wonder what Edwards was thinking at that moment…
As a Carl Edwards fan this is so hard to watch😒
And 2011. And 2008. And to some extent, 2005. I was there for ALL the pain
I feel ya man. Didn’t watch the sport back then, bit of a newer fan, but it pains me to watch
NASCAR rigs these races

2:06:36 What if this caution never happened and the green flag run continued to the end?
Either way caution would be called later
We would still have Carl Edwards and. MTJ doesn’t move into the 19 car

It’s after he smack the wall at Pocono 2017. Won 3 races before that. Never won after
👍 🏁🏁 👍
One could only wonder if stage racing would've never happened without the Edwards wreck
Best day of my life!!
No reason for a yellow flag with 15 to go there. Nascar messing with the outcome. Reason fans have left, one of many

There was another caution brotha… the 17 crashed later on
What are you talking about? That flat tire caution was bullshit and changed the entire outcome of the championship. @@ckravfitness6715
Fixed race
ehh idk...ill say they throw cautions for any little thing. in the process of trying to make things "interesting" they screw over drivers

i disagree. it was way harder to win a championship the past 20 years than it was the 20 years before it
