    Hey Dayton!!! What an honor man! The part I am missing is the plastic ring that attaches to the body of the watch, the one with the "springy tabs".. The bezel of my watch is just the one you have, but I must say mine is way more scratched. I also brushed mine to make more mate and hide the scratches. I will be glad if you would sen the bezel as well, but not needed. Maybe you find another use for it.... 0r maybe someone else lost theirs. I leave it up to you to decide! Keep on with the amazing work with all you do. Thanks a million again! not only for sending me the parts , but also for being such a nice and kind person. My watch will gain another meaning for me. Best wishes!

      Hi Enrique! Did you ever receive the T-Touch II bezel and gasket?

      @@IMakeWatches Hi Dayton.
      Yes I did. I thought I wrote an email telling you that. sorry if I didn't.
      I haven’t installed it yet. Unfortunately and sadly I had some water damage in my watch. I think the reason was that I presses the middle button to activate touch function underwater. I wanted to check the temperature. I am now looking for someone to repair it here in Brazil. The inside is a bit rusted already and touch functions are not working properly. Now I notice how much I need to have a compass with me all the time. I hope it is repairable.

      @@EnriqueLUrcia Best look for one used at this point or send it to Tissot. In my opinion the gaskets on the pushers are not serviceable except by Tissot. Very special tool required.

      @@IMakeWatches I understand. what. pity.... I wrote an email to Tissot and will wait to see what they say.
      thanks again for the help Dayton!

    Thanks for video! I’ve often thought about how Watch repair folks are not intrigued with the mechanical components embedded in quartz movement. As you show, they have interesting “stuff” to good around with.

      I was the same way until I saw how mechanically complicated the early Swatch Chrono 22 jewel movements are! Quartz watches can be absolutely amazing mechanically!

    Does a quartz watch stop running if you place it near a strong permanent magnet?

    • @IMakeWatches
      @IMakeWatches  ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely! Even more fascinating however is what happens when you place it near a powerful demagnetizer. Can you guess what happens?

    Minimal parts! Maximum precision! 51

      Thanks for this comment! Yes, the original Swatch had just 51 parts. And now that I think about it, I'm not sure if that's the simple time-only version or the day date. I suspect it's the day-date because the time-only seems like it probably has even fewer. The original design is also incredibly enduring. With the exception of lots of complicated variations over the years the original design is still used in the classic Swatches almost exactly as originally designed.

    So who actually manufactures these quartz movement? I used to assume it was maybe Ronda, or maybe even a dirt cheap ETA, but those seems a little too high quality for what is basically a disposable watch. Are these made in-house by Swatch themselves?

    • @IMakeWatches
      @IMakeWatches  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Swatch movements are all considered either ETA and or Swatch movements. Remember, the case is the base of the movement, so there's no "generic" quartz movement like a Ronda that could be made by someone else and put into an original plastic based Swatch. This changes with Irony and Chrono lines where the movements are not built into the case, but it's also the case that all of those movements are ETA and have ETA calibers. Also, Swatch and ETA were and are the same company, so even if it has no caliber number, if it's in a Swatch it was designed by ETA and therefore is an ETA movement. That said, individual parts of the movement can be made anywhere. I've seen a dials in a plastic Swatch Chrono stamped "Germany" and Swatch has manufacturing around the world including in China. So when you start going down the rabbit hole of parts: dials, hands, wheels and pinions, they could be made in any Swatch group factory in the world, or even outsourced (although I don't think that happens much if at all) and the movement would still be considered an ETA movement. I've read that in the first years of the Chrono they couldn't keep up with demand and I assume that's why they had some dials made in Germany.

      @@IMakeWatches Gotcha. So for all intents and purposes, you could technically say they are an in-house Swatch movement?
