Something I’ve been messing around with myself.
I tried using two of the velcro straps as makeshift horizontal loops, but I decided on the half and half method instead. Played around with it some today, seems alright so far.
Your video inspired me to give a PTT a try on my carrier. Still can't stomach the costs of a military PTT, but I found out that the U94 is based on Amphenol Nexus components and I was able to get a true Amphenol U94 body with TP120 jack and button for $25 before tax and shipping. All that needs done is add the necessary lead for the radio of choice and boom a nearly spec true U94 PTT for like $50. Now, I don't need amplified so that could be a cat of a very different color.
As an armor crewman my unit is a bit laxed on this combo and like to universalize my stuff. I have a surplus CVC 132B, that I’ve drilled for rails and nvg mount. And have added peltors for commo instead of the insert that’s used with the Bose headset. So much better and clearer audio the disco32 PTT allows seamless use with my personal radio and I’m able to connect the 6pin to my vehicle while using the same helmet as I do for regular dumb stuff with nods.
