Hey guys it's been a while since the last upload but we finally got around to completing vlog #60. We're still making our way through all the footage, as they say slow and steady wins the race. Hope you enjoy! :-)
I just binge watched the last two episode, absolutely fantastic. Enjoyed Tina's reflection about the highs, lows, lessons and experiences. Hoping Jason will find time for a new .NET blog post soon. Greetings from ZA!
My wife and I are really enjoying your great adventure vids. You are doing such a great job riding the bikes in all manner of challenging situations. Jason you should try dipping apple slices into your peanut butter for something different.
So good to see another video and such a great video and I think its the first time i have seen your hair down on these videos Tina boy its thick . Loved the pub and yeah I wouldnt swim with the crocs either Yeah for Bali and good to see Shaun and Nicole there the kids enjoyed the pool ❤
Good on Ya's on completing your fantastic epic adventure. Thumbs up to the both of you for toughing it out. Good to see that the mighty little Royal Enfield Himalayans never let you down! I'm big fan of the MItas EO7+ tyres. I have them on my Honda CB500X. Excellent allrounders with fantastic life span. 👍👍PS: Tina, your hair looked great, even after a night of high Humidity! 😆
Thanks! We had a great time, and the himis preformed so well! We went back to the Mitas EO7 tyres and haven't looked back since, great tyres! Haha thanks :-). Cheers
Thanks for the awesome feedback! We’re excited for the next leg too! We’ll definitely check out the Motoz tyres- we tried the mitas e07 plus and they did pretty well too.
Hi Steeley, great to hear from you! Yeah we know what you mean, it did the same for us. Going through the footage again has been such a blast, almost like we’re reliving the trip all over again (minus the pain and discomfort, haha!). Our bicycle trip was fun but it definitely had it's fair share of discomfort, but as you know, that's all part of the adventure!
You both have done well , it is an epic ride you have completed . 👍 I have follow you for all your journey. It’s been special. Thank you for taking me along.
Thanks David! It means a lot to know you’ve been with us on this journey. We’re so glad you enjoyed the ride with us, and we appreciate your support! Here’s to more adventures ahead! 😊
So good to hear from you again, was worried you stopped sharing your trip. I have set a date of my trip, April 10, my 75th birthday, if I make it that far.
Hey Michael yeah it's been a while but we'll definitely be sharing the whole trip (eventually!). Wow that's exciting you're only a few short months away! Which way will you be going? Are you planning on filming?
Thanks for the latest update, have thoroughly enjoyed your adventure. Appreciate it’s not easy to edit when life gets in the way but your vid’s certainly add to our lives!
Thanks for your kind words Tim! I’m really glad you’re enjoying the adventure. It can be a challenge to juggle everything, but we love sharing the trip! Your support means a lot! 😊
Nicely summed up near the end Tina, “enjoying the freedom of the open road”. Great episode once again. Enjoy the break while we look forward to the next instalment 😊
Thanks, Baz! We really appreciate your support and are thrilled to hear you’ve enjoyed our videos so much! We still have plenty of footage to go through from the trip so definitely more to come! 😊
Hey Greg! So glad you enjoyed the vlog! We’re doing well, thank you! It’s always a pleasure to share our adventures with you. Your support means a lot! 😊
Always love your uploads guys 😍 Ohh the top end does cool down, but only just 😂😂 25:32 I'm more surprised that the chicken didn't go off in all that heat and humidity. Cheers legends.
Thanks mate, we're glad you enjoy the uploads! 😄 Yes only just! And you're right, we were both surprised it didn't turn into a roast, probably wasn't the smartest thing for us to do 🙄 Cheers :-)
Just found your Chanel, your so very chilled and good at showing us the day of. Can I recommend you to use hydro lite, comes in many forms, the tablet version you just place into your water bottle, electrolytes, potassium and probably a bit of salt to replace the lost ones in the heat, most chemists sell them these days. Caffeine in those drinks is a diuretic so it will actually remove your water content, not replace it. Cheers, love the Himalayan bikes, extremely reliable and comfortable, just ask Noraly!
Thanks for the warm welcome and the great recommendation! I appreciate the tips on hydration-it’s so important, especially in the heat. We actually started using hydralytes recently and they make a huge difference! And I’m glad to hear you love the Himalayan bikes too; they really are a fantastic ride! Cheers! 😊
Yay!! You're back. Another great video in the series. Much appreciated. You two are the best couple on the road as adventure bikers. That quirky pub reminded me of 'Ronnie's Sex Shop' in South Africa. Same theme. I also laughed when you pulled out the Zimbabwe Z$50 trillion note. I have a few full sets of the notes. Toilet paper is more valuable 😅 Tina said 'we're not tough' (like the N.T. guys) but I disagree, you guys do some serious distances, and in unbearable heat. Hope you had a good rest, and I'm looking forward to the next leg of your journey. Ride safe always.
Thanks Les! We’re really glad you enjoyed the video! 'Ronnie's Sex Shop'-sounds like a fun spot! And those Zimbabwe notes are a great conversation starter; they're crazy 😂 We appreciate your kind words about our toughness; we just take it one ride at a time! Looking forward to sharing more of our journey with you. Ride safe, and thanks for following along! 😊
It was a finish worth the wait....great job, guys and gals....Sold my 22 KLR that I built for adventure...now working on a 23 Dr 650, all apart and receiving the build parts this week. At my age the 120 lbs difference will be great. I suppose your next ride will be the 450 himmi.....We don't have them in Canada yet, but next year for sure. Will be waiting for your next adventure, if you don't mind taking me along....cheers mates. Garth
Thanks, Garth! We’re so glad you enjoyed it! Exciting times ahead with your 2023 DR 650 build-sounds like a fantastic adventure bike! The weight difference will definitely make a difference on more challenging terrain. As for the next ride, the 450 Himalayan is on our radar too, but Arnie and Franco are still going strong! We’d love to take you along on our adventures-thanks for being a part of the journey! Cheers! 😊
Hey guys, you did it! Congratulations! I've followed you both from day 1 and enjoyed every minute. You both make a good couple and about time to tie the knot?
Thanks mate! It’s been quite the journey, and I'm proud of how far Tina has come since getting her license! It’s true, we’ve racked up a lot of kilometers, and every one has been an adventure. Cheers 😊
So obviously you have well and truly finished the trip, and I suppose you did do footage on the run down on how the Himalayan's faired, but were you blokes happy with the bikes, and would you do a trip similar with Himalayans in the future. I would like to know, as so far in 2up mode normally, my 2023 Himalayan, does the job pretty well.
Hi Ric, yes we wrapped up the trip quite a while ago now but it's nice to relive it through the vlogs. We’re really happy with how the Himalayans performed throughout the trip-they held up great! Yes for sure, We’d definitely do another similar trip with them in the future. It sounds like your 2023 Himalayan is serving you well in 2-up mode; they really are fantastic bikes for adventure! 😊
@@TinaandJason In May this year we 2upped to Tassie, from Northern NSW, one weeks travel there and back, and 2 weeks in Tassie, we really had to pair down our luggage to make it all fit, camped in a tent the whole way, it was cheaper then going by car by far, and although quite sore when we finished the trip ( we are 65 and 67 ), we intend to do it again, next spring and give us a bit more time down there. Yes our Himi, although small cc's for 2up, it has the low pulling power needed for the job, and did it quite well. I never once went over 90kmphr, didn't want to flog it.
haha absolutely! There’s something special about pitching a tent and being outdoors. It really does lift the spirits and makes the adventure feel more authentic! 😊
Hi Tina/Jason, may I ask: What range can you get from the 15 L tank? I have '22 411 (Euro 5) I am surprised how quick my Trip F (Trip/low fuel counter) is triggered, supposedly a warning for the last 5 L, and the manual sort of discourages you from using much of that last 5 L to protect the fuel pump. It looks like I am getting about 3.3 L/100K but I have never run it past possibly 3.5 L left in the tank--also I have the TEC cam and I wonder whether that makes it consume a bit more fuel. Some riders e.g., Joe Ryan on his chanel show him running close to dry fairly often and getting around 450K--so I guess you can get away with it re the fuel pump--what do you do? I look forward to these videos--THANKS.
Hi Rob, It really depends on the type of riding we’re doing-whether it’s freeway, city, dirt, or if there’s a headwind. Our trip F came on quite early too, but we were able to get over 100 km on it without any issues. We often ran it low and never had problems. Overall, I’d estimate the range to be between 350 and 450 km. Franco (Jason’s bike) consumed more fuel, as he was carrying an extra 30-40 kg. We did encounter one issue with low fuel during heavy rain; it seemed like the fuel tank might have gotten water in it or something, causing the bike to keep stalling. However, once we topped up the fuel, it started working properly again. Cheers!
