  • Hi Guys, welcome back to the channel.
The first time a foreigner has been allowed into the Ancestor Worship Event. Every Year during the Tomb Sweeping Festival the Guo family all come together to praise their ancestors. I was lucky enough to be invited in. How does traditional Chinese Han culture mix with the Hui Muslim culture? In the village of Baiqi over 90% of the people here have the same surname, and for this festival distant relatives from as far away as Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia all come together to pay their respects.
Thank you for visiting our channel.
We are based in China, Sichuan, Chengdu, please comment with any questions/comments on where to go, travel, eat and explore.

thx for sharing! Very interesting ceremony. Are you related to the family? Many overseas Chinese in Taiwan and South East Asia are originated from Fujian Province

My Pleasure, trying to show Chinese Culture to the world! Yes, the people of Fujian really travelled far and wide. There are places in Malaysia where you can get away with just speaking MinNanYu.

Yes.. the Chinese in Malaysia carry on this tradition but we don’t have the parade . We just bring food and Joss sticks to the cemetery to pay respect to the departed .

@@rainbow2639 is that for Chinese Malaysians only?

I am Filipino with Chinese ancestry from Fujian as well.
We celebrate this festival as well yearly. I live in the United States now and we continue to 敬祖。

@@R_L_1369 That’s brilliant. It’s popular (if that’s the right word) all over China but seems more importance is attached in the South and especially Fujian province. Was an honor to witness it.

I have heard that some 閩南人 have Hui Muslim ancestry, but this is the first time I have seen any videos of them!!! Excellent work, and what an honor it must have been for you!
