    Ford needs to stop adding crap to their trucks.

  • @hellraiserx9490

    There is also another way to do it. Under the driver side dish there are a set of plugs running top to bottom the one on the bottom the black plug all you have to do is unplug that and it’s done but make sure you plug it back in again if you’re going to pull a trailer.

    • @TruckStuff1
      @TruckStuff1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah. I don't like that method because people who tow frequently aren't likely to do it because it's inconvenient to have to replug it in all the time. People who don't tow frequently are more likely to do it, but that means in 9 months or whatever when they tow a trailer, they might forget to reconnect it and they won't have brake lights while driving.

    DONT DO ANY OF THIS!!! If you want to disable auto start/stop on your F150 (works on 2021-2023 models for sure, don't know about older models or the upcoming 2024 refresh, but I'm pretty sure its the same or similar.) Go into your infotainment system. Bring up Features. Bring up towing. Choose select default trailer. That's it. That's all you have to do. Don't buy any devices. Don't jumper the button. Don't disconnect the BMS from the negative lead on the battery. The truck will think a trailer is connected, but it won't cut off your backup camera, or give you any warning messages or anything like that. Plus you don't run any risk of voiding your warranty, or shorting your circuitry with some cheap Chinese "auto start eliminator," or by plugging in some trailer circuit test kit that isn't designed to be left in as you drive the truck every day leaving it exposed to the elements.

      Might work on 21+ but that doesn't work on older F150s.

    Under the dash on the left a set of three plugs bottom black set just unplug it. It is for trailer lights so if your towing you will need to plug it back in. No tearing apart your dash .

    • @TruckStuff1
      @TruckStuff1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The downside is, if you forget to plug it in you won't have any trailer lights and you might not realize that. I will take taking apart my dash over unsafe vehicle operation. at least as far as what I'm willing to recommend. You can do whatever you'd like

    the auto start needs to be where i can get in and its auto off and if i want to use it then push a button to activate it but in general the auto start and stop is a dangerous function if you stop at stop sing then have to go and you are slowed by 5 seconds well that may end bad

    • @TruckStuff1
      @TruckStuff1  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's not a plug for auto start stop. It's for trailer brake lights. A side effect of disabling it is it causes ASS to stop working. But I don't like to disable other systems to accomplish the goal

    • @TruckStuff1

      If your truck is turning off the radio it's because your BMS (Battery Monitoring System) is worried that your battery is almost dead. I would check your battery health and reprogram your BMS

    I recently purchased a 2018 f150 and have driven it a few hundred miles now. It never shuts off with the button pushed or without it pushed. I’m thinking it has been disabled The display always comes up on the trailer as if it’s connected to a trailer. I checked the trailer wiring port in the rear bumper but there’s nothing in it.

    • @TruckStuff1
