Awesome job! I was deployed to Iraq in 2003 during the Invasion. We rode on these hogs for 22 days from Kuwait to Baghdad I clearly remember my AAV looking exactly like this one...Tri color camouflage and tan armor!

Hi Guido, that was a fantastic build and paint finish, I have this in my stash, partly built as I struck a couple of issues with construction, but I mudt get it out again and see what I can do wigh it, you have yourself another subscriber, best regards from Australia, Les

Hello Les! Thank you very much for watching and taking the time to post. It was certainly not the easiest project, but workable in the end. I hope you'll enjoy some success on your stalled project. I hope you won't be too disapointed that my postings are far and few in between these days. A new job taken on in 2017 with a lot of responsibilities and time constraints had me at a choice to either build or publish on the tube. As editing and publishing is very time consuming, I opted to pretty much drop the channel to find enough time the follow my actual hobby. I still visit shows and build these days - witn a heavy emphasis on figure painting, which I picked up during Covod lock-down. However, I do feel in the mood to publish from time to time. Maaaaybeeee..... We'll see. Thanks again for your kind comment and take care! BAlle of my best wishes to you from Switzerland! Guido

For more realism you'll need the ever present communication wire wrapped around and hanging out of the final drives with at least one final leaking. Also brown sludge where the bilge pump outlets are. When the bilge pumps run they pump out oil, coolant, hydro fluid, piss, sea water, tobacco spit.....

I think you dud an amzing job with this kit. Not to shit on you but the interior color you were looking for is sea foam green. idk if thats commercially available. The floor under the driver station is the same dark green as the deck plates and that also goes for driver side lateral cover and floor in front of where the radio stack and tool box goes. The standard SL3 issued tool box is red not green. The personnel heater is also supposed to be dark green. But awesome job all in all

Hello, Richard! Sorry for my late reply, I am just back from the Scale Model Challenge in the Netherlands.
I have honestly no idea, if these tracks are interchangable. I am by no means an expert on this vehicle. I bought the tracks fitting to the project at hand, so I didn't consider any other options, thus having not done any research in this area.

I've had this kit for over 5+ years sitting on my shelf because I started making the tracks first and gave up moving onto other kits. As you know they're just plain terrible. Which tracks did you use for yours and do you have a link?

    • @bilk1968

On the few tracked vehicles I built, I always used Friul. I bought them at a show at the time. As I am living in Switzerland, I don't really know, if any of my local sources will be useful to you.
