Your videos are my first go to watch videos whenever I had any doubt related to NICU because your ingenious way of teaching gives so clear-cut information that has helped me in clearing so many concepts and makes me feel more confident while communicating with parents, doctors and even among my colleagues. I am truly grateful to you for tutoring us and passively helping so many babies to get a better care from so many fellow nicu nurse across the globe.May you stay healthy, energetic and enthusiastic in upskilling us.
I have read your comment about ten times, and I think the next step may be to print it out and frame it!!! Thank you so much for your lovely words- they mean the absolute world to us! We are so so so happy that these videos are helping anyone and that you feel you have a better understanding of anything. Thank you so much for being here and for taking the time to writ out such a lovely note.
Thankyou Dr Tala and team for making neonatology less daunting with your thorough explanations. Will be recommending your videos to my colleagues in the NICU. With gratitude from Australia ☺️
That is such a lovely thing to say- but everything is a skill! I practice but there are many many places I can improve- and many times I wish I had said something a different way or mentioned an important fact that would be helpful. (Or plain just said something wrongly). And still in the NICU I have many sleepless nights wanting to go back in time and do things differently. We can only hope to continue improving and most important- continue to care!!!!
Thank you!! Yes- we need to do both hypotension and hypertension- maybe the second is easier- but not as common!!! They are getting closer to the top of our list and I've already started jotting down notes on hypotension and pulling papers- so I promise will be sooner rather than later!!!
Thank you for your words. When you say CMV you mean the TORCH infection right? (not conventional mechanical ventilation?) We've been meaning to do one on TORCH infections- so we'll get back to it!
Hello! I love your channel, I am on my last semester of ABSN and will have preceptorship in NICU this Fall, so excited! I am watching your channel and I wanted to ask for a suggestions of the best way to sort of prepare, maybe there is a very good course, textbook or something else that could be beneficial, thank you in advance!
Hello! That's so exciting you're doing you preceptorship in the NICU- we're sure you'll love it. It's fantastic you're already looking to prepare and that you're even watching this channel. I would start with STABLE/ NRP- because that's the stuff you need to learn in an emergency. The rest will come!! We're filming a video on which books we'd recommend- it will be out relatively soon!
@@TalaTalksNICU fantastic! Thank you so much! I learned about NPR, STABLE and ENCCO from Alexis, and now you confirmed most of it:) can’t wait for your recommended books video:) so far I got one by Merenstein and Gardner, good stuff!! Thank you Dr Tala and everybody!
This is a great question- I don't stay up well enough with OB literature but I haven't seen that done in ages. I just looked through a couple of studies and it looks like it showed it doesn't help. (Which kinda makes sense- MAS happens in older late preterm and term babies- so just get the baby out- right?!)

Is amniocentesis no longer considered a viable prevention of MAS?
This is a great question- I don't stay up well enough with OB literature but I haven't seen that done in ages. I just looked through a couple of studies and it looks like it showed it doesn't help.
