      @@TalaTalksNICU Hi, I was wondering about neurological and endocrinology topics in the NICU like neonatal seizures, glycemic eventualities and a video about neonatal ethics, especially dealing with family of an infant with poor prognosis. Some topics around those lines. Its always awesome you try and make videos your subscribers ask for, thanks again and continue the amazing work.

      We love these suggestions. We are hoping get help with a palliative care specialist about having those conversations about poor prognosis etc. We need to do neonatal seizures and low and high sugars! Thanks so much for your continued support!

      That's fantastic Jayne- thanks so much still being here! Im glad the community questions help too- it's always hard knowing where to pitch them. Good luck in your exam! (Oh by the way- which book/ series do you use for that- maybe a video dedicated to high yield stuff on that exam may be helpful?)

    A wonderful topic. JET in cardiosurgical unit is something we get into trouble with.
    Wld love to hear from you is there is a topic on murmurs, pulmonary hypertensive crisis, hyperglycemia 💞. I watching you on my way to wrk, a NNP in NICU.

      @TalaTalksNICU  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Usha! Thanks for your lovely comment. Everywhere I've worked the post-op cardiac infants stay in the cardiac ICU, so really I've consulted on infants who've had JET, but it's not something we see in the NICU really. Horrible though!!! We made a video on pulmonary hypertension- we should add one about an actual crisis event too (especially in setting of BPD), and we've added hyperglycemia too. We'll add murmurs to the list! Thank you so much for being here. AND DRIVE SAFELY!!!

    Thank you so much for this! It’s so amazing how helpful your videos!! You are such a great resource Dr. Tala! (NICU RN here). Is there any way you can talk about some commonly genetic abnormalities that you see in the nicu?

    • @TalaTalksNICU
      @TalaTalksNICU  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wow- thank you so much Sheila- lovely words :) OK- we've been wondering how to do genetic anomalies- it's SUCH a huge topic- and your suggestion is a brilliant idea! We were thinking: Downs, Turners, 22q deletion, trisomy 18 and 13. Any others we're missing? We're about to put out our hydrops and cardiac series, so may be a couple of months- but these take ages to plan!!

    Thank you Dr. Tala! I love listening to your videos on my way to work, they are full of excellent information! I’m a nicu nurse and would love for you to discuss different respiratory supports and thoughts behind deciding what support a baby needs. HFNC vs RAM CPAP vs BCPAP vs NIV NAVA. Invasive NAVA vs the conventional vent etc.
    It would great to hear the pros/cons to differing respiratory supports! Thanks!!

    Full term baby born with persistent SVT is receiving procanimide with esmolol, yet still has periods of SVT 250/min. Stable SVT, no congenital heart disease. What's the next treatment? Cardioversion or ablation??

    • @TalaTalksNICU
      @TalaTalksNICU  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello Jacqueline- congrats on your baby. Will talk generally- cardio version is generally reserved for an unstable baby who we need to get out of a rhythm (generally a short term solution in babies). Unless it is not svt- then done sooner. There are many other meds that babies can be put on for SVT which are normally added- digoxin Amiodarone procainamide etc I’m sure cardiology is all over it- they normally add meds in stepwise fashion. Wishing your family health and peace xxx

    • @TalaTalksNICU
      @TalaTalksNICU  ปีที่แล้ว

      I always think it must be uncomfortable but it's weird- often the babies appear like it doesn't bother them- sleeping, eating, looking around peacefully. Poor little things- and poor you! Hope that you're getting the treatment you need.

      Oh brilliant! Obviously I'm biased but the NICU is the best place to be. That's so great you'll have such a broad background (and the ability to stay calm under pressure!) that you're bringing. Good luck on your journey!
