Good hunt Randy, when Rt. 37 was cut thru on the ridge top there the was several 5 gallon buckets of the 69’s dug out of there from what I here! You were in a good location for hunting relics!
That’s crazy! I’m so glad we can still recover this history even though much of it gets lost due to “progression” whether it’s necessary or not. Maybe we have a responsibility to get it while we can so people remember and never forget.
Dang Randy I really wanted you to find that j-hook!!! I would have loved to see that cartwheel!!! Nice hunting!!! Thank you so much for sharing!!! God bless!!!
Oh my! I need this encouragement! Kinda hard to believe I haven’t found one honestly. BUT! when I do, I owe you a cartwheel for your support. It’ll happen one day so stay tuned 👍🏻
@@sixdaymetaldetecting1776 I never have dug any myself,I know of a place in town where the troops gathered for training. They built a school on part of the grounds. It’s public property. 😀
That’s very cool! I love Todd. We’ve been good buddies since he started, and I really appreciate him. His videos are one of a kind. I hope you sub to my channel and enjoy what I do. Thanks again!
I'm new to your channel. That 69 looks like a old style wad cutter. I think that they were doing what the guys in WW1 did by loading a bullet backwards to cause more damage. Maybe that's where they got the idea from. Great find.
That’s not a bad idea. I’ve run it by my experts. They say without question it was cut prior to shooting. But no absolute why they did it. Thanks for the input though. That’s a new lead 👍🏻
I’m only 8 months late to this video. New subscriber tho and loving this channel a lot. The “pin” you didn’t know about is a shield emblem to a pocket knife. Congrats
Thanks! It still surprises me we didn’t get into other relics. Thousands of troops went through there fighting and retreating. I plan to go back in hopes of some Confederate relics.
Well, no, but there was artillery in the area. Buck and balls were loaded in rifles like normal loads. However, case shot might be what you’re thinking of because they were round balls much like what we found loaded inside artillery shells. Pretty destructive! I’m not sure of their caliber and could have varied. Buck and ball was like a bullet and shotgun together.
Great video Randy and loads of fun. I was anxious for your upload. Good job!
Hey man. Thanks! I hope you enjoyed it. Looking forward to our next adventure out. Although, I will be slowing down with this heat rolling in. 🥵
Great times with great friends. Was nice meeting Todd and getting to recovery some civil war history less than 15 min from my house!
Definitely! You got a great spread of bullets man! I had forgot that.

Very well done. Thanx for bringing us along !
Hey! Thanks for watching!
New to your channel and liking the content. Very nice areas you hunt in. Look forward to more.
Thanks a lot! Hope you’ll check out some older vids too. I’ve been able to get on some awesome relics over the years.
You guys had a fantastic day of civil war finds. So nice to see Todd and meeting Greg. Great video😀👍
We really had a great time together! Thanks for watching!

Awesome video buddy, really enjoyed that, I have quite a few to catch up on well done
Thanks. I’m not out as much anymore but do still have a vid in the hopper.
Great finds Randy, and the antler is a good finish. Congrats on the 4th 69 cal. Take care and best of luck 👍
Thanks Terrence! I’ve been hunting deer forever and detecting for only a few years. When I find a shed,… I’m super excited! 😄👍🏻
Nice Bullet! Those suckers are huge! Happy Hunting! Jon.
Thanks Jon! Do you see many Civil War relics your way?

I don't know how I missed this one Randy. TH-cam is sending me suggestions that I care nothing about. This was truly a dream hunt!
Hey Randy, good hunt. That shield piece is from a pocket knife.
Dude! Yes!

@@sixdaymetaldetecting1776 I teach reloading classes and a firearms instructor
My ancestor was captured at Winchester. He spent some time in the tobacco warehouses in Danville, then on to Libby Prison, then back to Ohio.
How interesting! Thanks for sharing that. It’s a bit odd we celebrate finding these bullets even though it was a horrible time for our nation.
Often times metal detector people would come into the church property and start digging around.

Oh yeah! I remember that little shield! And believe you are right. Thanks for sharing. And thanks for subbing and glad you’re enjoying the channel👍🏻
Found my 1st Eagle Breast Plate in Kernstown, back in ‘75.
No way! That’s so very cool! I’m hoping we go back and find something other than bullets. I’ve never found an eagle plate. Wish me luck! PLEASE!
@@sixdaymetaldetecting1776 You’ve got it !
i think that fish weight looking thing might be a bell clapper
Interesting! Thanks for the info 👍🏻
Loved the 69. Cool finds.
Right?! Me too! It’s still funny I went from wanting just one so bad, and in 7 days, I dug 4! Crazy how that works sometimes.
Great hunt.
Thank you very much! We had a blast. Funny how much enjoyment we get from digging holes 😋
Good finds 👍🦀

Shotgun Willie! That son of a wwhheeew!😂
Yup. Such a let down. After a dozen it’s hard to say how many buttons I left. Hate those things!
If you got a Buckin ball, does that mean artillery fragments around?

@@sixdaymetaldetecting1776 thank you!
I sure would have NOT wanted to be on the receiving on one of them massive sized bullets' 69cal. I'd say they're big enough to knock down a mule/moose
Definitely! After digging literally hundreds of .58s, holding a .69 is humbling. The damage they would have caused is terrifying. Thanks for watching!
What ya got there brother? 🙂👍
Hey Todd how far away are you from Bluefield wv
He might not see this because this is my channel. But he’s about 4 hours away.
Hey Todd
Pocket knife shield
Thanks! You’re the second to mention pocket knife and bring certainty to that relic. Thank you so much!

Thanks man! I hope our paths cross one day since we both know Todd. 👍🏻
