Thank you so much, I miss Alexi especially seeing the quality he delivered in Hexed and Paint the Sky with Blood. Fortunately many musicians carry his legacy! I'm glad you appreciate my small part of it :)
At timestamp 01:25, when Val plays the hammered dulcimer, he strikes the same string twice in succession yet he produces two clearly different tones. I mean, what are we, to believe that this is some sort of a, magic hammered dulcimer or something?”
Unbelievably great. I have never seen such technical know-how anywhere. I'm from Finland myself and I value CoB music above all else. Alexi was a composer genius. You are doing a great job in the field of music. Thanks. -Kiitos!
Ive been a CoB fan since the 90s and I have to say the hammered dulcimer fits perfectly for the lead parts. I love all these covers. I wonder if people during the earliest years of this instrument ever got "experimental" and were shredding on the dulcimer like this for the Earth's first headbangers. Melodic Medieval Death Metal would have been pretty rad Id imagine
Thank you so much for your kind and honest words. I fully understand these crossovers may not be up to everyone's taste, and appreciate even more the fact you still gave it a chance! Usually I try to rotate between genres on this channel to keep things fresh and entertaining for listeners (and myself), so there will be more early & folk music in my upcoming videos. Thanks again and take care!
Hope there will be more!) Under Grass and Clover and Platitudes and Barren Words from the last CoB album, and my favorite melody is in Trashed, Lost & Strungout. And also a lot of more =) Please continue!
Once again you made my day, there is something beautiful on the sound of the dulcimer that I can't explain, and how you're able to combine that instrument with Alexi's compositions is just epic, listening to these covers gives a feeling that what ever piece of Alexi's soul is left on these melodies is spreading around while you play them, can't stop repeating the piece from Under Grass And Clover, that melody on the dulcimer just hits hard, complete song would be noice, Kissing The Shadows would be also nice to hear
Great, now I have to check if it's legal for a German to be in love with a Frenchman, because if I wasn't already, I sure as hell am now :D But seriously, great work as always👍
Hey, I remember you're here since my very first COB videos, can't tell how important your long time support is to me! I'm glad you still enjoy the new releases, take care buddy 😊
Thank you so much!! In winter my music room is constantly heated at 18°C so the conditions (humidity & temperature) are stable and I can tune every ~2 weeks. Summer can alter the pitch faster (2-5 days) as I don't have air conditioning and there's generally more air circulation in the house. Anyway I retune the instrument before each recording or major event, and this takes 20 to 30 minutes depending how far out-of-tune it is :)
Thanks you so much for your kind words! 😊 Kissing the shadow is really cool, the solo is challenging though (yet still feasible). I didn't give a try with Not my funeral yet, love this track, thanks for the hint :) Here is my tip link as you asked: ko-fi.com/cortoni Thanks again, cheers buddy! 🤘
@@ValCortonii've subscribed, and KoFi Says that's OK, Paypal charged twice (who cares), then my bank said that both transactions failed Please check. I'll change payment method
@@ValCortoni So.. i've tried 3 times, and there is a restriction from national bank of Ukraine to donate abroad (only buying. on ebay, and so on). Not cool. And in Germany our cards have no ability to pay online I'll try to figure it out. Stil have payoneer card left
So talented I love children of bodom

Wish I could headbang more while playing but with this instrument I would miss all the notes 😁

Beautiful covers, love it! Really good picks too, all bangers :)

Cool work, alexi would've approved🤘Algorythm working once for while it seems😅
Do you know that Janne has even mentioned about you in one of his interviews? You are too good man!!❤
No way! He's my legend! Is there anywhere I could hear it?
Awesome cover!
P.S. Just want to ask: how often do you tune your instrument and how long it can take?

@@ValCortoni Thanks for your answer!
Sounds a little bit complicated...
Compare to six strings tuning ofc :)
Can I share this with Children of Bodom?
With pleasure!!! 😊
Suomen ikivanha kansallissoitin kantele.
MORE!!! ) now i'm listening you instead of CoB
1 - you are super cool
2 - can you play "kissing the shadows"? easy to play, but impressive
oh! oh! oh! and "not my funeral" too!
and also i don't see where to donate
