At live shows Janne and Alexi would get into these little musical "duels" Alexi would shred something out and Janne would respond and they would sort of play off each other. It was really cool and the dulcimer along with the guitar in this cover totally reminds me of that dynamic. Its a perfect instrument for this.

There is a great melancholy in the dulcimer sound and the song is also pretty atmospheric and melody based. Both marry so well together! The bells part where everything goes silent and its just Janne playing has been replicated so well here by you that it really feels like this is the original! Please do Children of Decadence if you can. There are not many covers of that song and it will be replicated on the Dulcimer insanely well!

On dulcimer this part requires some gymnastics as key changes every measure (most folk instruments have limitations with changing keys, dulcimer can play every key but hand patterns become wild for some of them). Children Of Decadence => 100% agree! I'd love to do it on dulcimer but there are a lot of key changes too and I wouldn't want to simplify the original song too much. I'll probably try after I gain confidence on more accessible songs. Next cover is from Hatebreeder album and should be out by end of July, hope you'll like it and thanks again for your kind words :)

Thank you! Yes strings crossing everywhere is the main challenge to begin with the instrument (and external lights can add even more confusion, because of string shadows projected on the soundboard). Over time, you just get less and less distracted by the strings and look at the markers on the bridges instead :)
