You are way too hard on yourself. The car looks infinitely better than it did before. You are definitely going in the right direction with the paint scheme and getting used to the tools. That is nothing to be ashamed of at all.
@@dc5diego yeah I was gonna say it was a pretty heavy first coat. You kinda want to have it spray on misty so the paint is as thin as possible, but you could definitely buff alot of it out if you're still unsatisfied
Good job doing it yourself man. Not many would even attempt it. I had to make a lot of mistakes(and still do) when I dip my car and other peoples cars. I let them know straight up that I'm just a big DIY amateur and I'm still learning so there may be mess ups. It's all a learning process and your doesn't look bad at all. Keep it up!
I appreciate the honesty in this video. I can relate to working on my RSX until I’m burnt out, only to feel dissatisfied when I’m finished 😅 I think it happens to all of us sometimes but don’t quit. Pull away for a bit and keep working at it!!!
i really appreciate that man although i don’t have the car anymore i still struggle with dissatisfaction. But same goes to you! don’t quit! Much love 🤝🏼
Man don’t give up. I painted my e90. It’s not perfect but I love it because I did it myself. I painted it about 4 months ago and I still need to go back and wet sand and polish but I’ve been lazy lol. But the car looks great! You’re being too hard on yourself.
I've been prepping my 02 type s for the past couple months and just started laying primer and I can only hope my job comes out anywhere as clean as yours did bro!
Dude mad props for doing it properly and using proper paint . Great job with the paint. If this is your first time, you did better than most. You just need more practice. I started painting smaller parts and got feel for how the paint / clear laid out. 2 stage system is easier to spray. Don’t give up
Sheesh bro.. Hats off to you for doing it yourself and learning.. Im still trying to build up the courage to do a paint job myself knowing how much work is involved.. Keep up the content man I seriously enjoyed this video and the rsx looks dope too man 👌
Man I have to say I am super impressed and motivated by your video. For your first time doing something like that I think it came out awesome! Thanks for posting this brother and keep grinding!! 🤝🏽
You have to set the gun for the speed you’re moving the gun at, if you’re gonna spray in a slow motion like you did you need to set the to spray less paint, if your strokes are fast more paint, your also spraying too close and you want to mist the paint on for the first coat or two
Brother let me tell you patience in paint and attention to detail are key ik this goes without saying but having that in mind throughout the process is the best way amazing video and I look forward to seeing the next part
This makes me want to bite the bullet and try out painting my car myself. You did a great job, and I don’t know much about painting but I think a wet sand and polish might do your paint justice. Either way it turned out great and you fr inspired me to start working on my own car.
Too many people think they need to prime their cars/trucks/etc. You don’t, you just need to scuff/sand & paint. Is it a great paint job, no. But I give you a lot of credit for trying & do what you did. At the end of the day, it’s how you learn. I like the color though.
After you paint it you gotta wet sand it with some fine grit to get rid of that faded gloss look or coat so to say. You did a great job my g . Don’t be so hard on yourself man. You did great !
How many people can say they painted their own car without any experience? You did something 99% of us wouldn't do for the same reasons you felt disappointed. Practice makes perfect. Resand, reshoot. Good luck youngster
Seems like the pressure was too high on the gun maybe? I haven’t really used guns only cans. I heard orange peel on paint can happen more frequently if you lay the paint on thick as opposed to light coats
I actually enjoyed the vid... youre young, thats how we learn, we try new things.. with that being said, it looks better than it did before... keep it up and your paint skills will improve for sure..
Just came across your video!! You did awesome with the paint!!! Got me jealous I had to use rattle cans for mine lol. Next time just move a little faster and you’re golden! 🔥🔥
You have way more patience than me. I would have just taken it to maaco for $399 with a coupon lol. If it’s a project car, paint is the least of my worries but you did a great job
Car came out lookn good.if this was your first time u made it look easy Iv got a bagged ej9 sedan I'm wanting to paint so maybe I'll go this route but different color. Subbed can't wait to see what else ya got in store
Hey man what kind of headlights are those? Also it turned out alot better then I expected. Props to you having the balls to do that. Many wouldn't let alone filming it.
Great work, keep your head up king and keep pushing forward. The next attempt is always better. You did a much better job than the first try. So there's lots of progress!
You can ‘definitely fix those runs. Look… you can make a rattle can paint job look good if you put in the work. I’m glad you used paint and tight yourself something instead of using a wrap or plastidip. Don’t be too hard on yourself, for a first time that looks great.
definitely not the end of the RSX i’m selling those parts to reinvest into some different parts, but my primary focus rn is my civic and i have content coming for that very soon!!
You struggle with motivation. That’s completely normal for someone your age. I was the same way. I found cutting big projects into smaller bits and doing it over time is a lot easier than trying to do it all at once and prevents burnout. As for your paint job it’s not bad all things considered. Carefully sand out the runs and buff/polish the rest. It will take your single stage paint from a 5/10 to an 8/10.
In the future, don’t get greedy and try to get all the color to show in one coat like that. Do a light coat first, it’s called a tack coat. Then do like 2 medium coats, it will have way less orange peel and their won’t be any runs!
Beginners always try to shoot single stage and are always shocked at how bad it looks. I didn't even attempt single stage until my fourth paint job and it still looked like poop. Two stage is way more forgiving. And you should be sanding at 400 grit.
You are way too hard on yourself. The car looks infinitely better than it did before. You are definitely going in the right direction with the paint scheme and getting used to the tools. That is nothing to be ashamed of at all.
i appreciate the kind words definitely more room for me to improve 🙇♂️
@@dc5diego looks good man just next time move a little faster with your hand and do multiple coats to prevent runs

Not as bad of paint job as you make it out to be with such budget equipment and supplies and especially in a uncontrolled environment.

Omg this is fire love the color🔥🔥🔥

For what it is and not being a pro. It came out decent. Like everyone else said nice work. Wet sand and polish that thing then ceramic coat it!

How many gallons was the air compressor that you used to paint it?
Boy you just had 1 run 🏃♀️ 😳 and it wasn't even that bad .800 grit could fix that mess then clear it again.
base and clear next time, and wet sand, itll come out a lot better

It still looks fire tho bro
how much was the total cost of the equipments + paint ?
am i the only one that likes the taller aspect ratio than the wider

Also I recommend leaving it all together to paint it instead of taking it apart like that
Not that bad at all...runs...sand em down and respray. Got to learn somehow. You would have paid MAACO +$1000 for the same. 🍻
