Bakugo has some of the most interesting character development I’ve ever seen. It baffles me how someone could (in a certain sense) change so much while maintaining the same aura and personality.

It's my first time hearing: ''The symbol of victory'', and to be honest. I think that's what I can imagine Bakugo to be. I just don't think that Deku will always be victorious because he wants to save EVERYONE- including the villains. Bakugo is more of a rational character who knows that he can't do everything (Atleast, during the manga) so he settles for something else.
I would love to see him as a protagonist of his spin-off or something, I want something refreshing, not the optimistic protagonist we see every shounen anime.
If there's a second part to Izukus journey he'll likely be the main character.
I really love the rival trope to start with, but Bakugou really *blew* up my love for the trope even more

I think it’s also fun to point out that most shonen rivals have killed people and were real villains at some point.
Kacchans catch phrase is “die” and he has threatened almost everyone he ever met, but never actually killed and as per all might even strategically avoided killing. He looks like the rival character that is most likely to become a villain but ends up the most loyal and level headed.
I guess we're ignoring how he tormented Izuku throughout their entire childhood together and suggested he kill himself. Or the fact that he clearly has psychological issues if he can see a friend trying to help him up as looking down on him. The thing you aren't considering is the charmed life Bakugo has lived. Why would he want to lose that by becoming a villain?
Austin Young Give me a break. That was in the first episode. Holding on to resentment and anger isnt healthy and makes you no better than how Bakugo was. Also if you are saying having psychological issues makes a person a bad person you are messed up.

The whole past few arcs he’s been trying to atone, from helping Izuku train his skills, to protecting Izuku and going after him when he left UA. Idk what you want him to do. Saying he can’t ever change and get better and hold onto who he was before is just toxic and it’s just not healthy especially towards a fictional character. I mean why not forgive a fictional character? Has he bullied you? No. It’s up to the one who actually was bullied to forgive, not anyone else.
Before watching, IMO he's far from being a saddest character in BnHA. IMO he's only a child who wants to be acknowledged by everyone and in the past, bullied those who are weaker than him. While Shigaraki have the entire world and fate goes against him. Obviously Bakugo have some serious character development but definitely not the saddest character in BnHA. Shigaraki really reminds me of Obito, a good child destroyed by the harsh reality of the world, and have someone like AFO and Madara as their only guidance.
Only this time there ain't no talk no jutsu that can cure them but Izuku is still going save Tomura from AFO regardless, I don't know how and when but he will.

Good points. However, they took so long to acknowledge his bullying that in the end I still don't much care for his character. They did a poor job with writting him and tried to force us to believe they were friends all the while he bullied the hell out of Deku. IMHO I find it baffling that so many people looked past that issue. It was too little too late.

One way I could see Bakugo ending the series is becoming quirk-less. He could sacrifices his dream in order to save everyone. And it would a ironic end to him and Deku swap place from the beginning of the story. As for how, he might lose his arms, one of them is already broken, I could see him pushing his quirk too far and blowing them off or something.

@@lumine9595 Yes, I might be wrong but i believe we have only seen him use his quirk through his hands and gadgets. That does leave the possibility of him adapting to it. If there is a time skip we could see him using it through his feet or maybe some prosthetic arms.
He might lose his quirk but as long as Eri is safe, she can definitely heal him just like how Eri did with Mirio.
One of my favorite things is that the power of friendship never got to Bakugo. When submitting to Deku rather. Rivalries require mutual respect in some way shape or form. He competes with and accepts OFA. THAT is who he desires to rival. Deku is just the holder. Bakugo sees and treats Deku as a glorified punching bag to help push him.
Now that Bakugo has acknowledged Izuku Midoriya, that’s the key to his true development. But the only thing he’s managed is BARELY giving Izuku worth in his head. And even Izuku himself tells him, yeah you’re trying too hard. He’s threatened by Izuku’s emotional strength. Something Bakugo is almost always lacking. He doesn’t secretly admire it, it’s genuine fear of something he can’t understand.
An inferiority complex and an empath are VERY big conflicting types. Izuku can’t grow out of being an empath, but Bakugo can keep pushing himself out of his complex. Unlike a dark empath (AFO) or anyone of the 3 dark personality traits. (Various villains have them, but Overhaul is best as a Machiavellian and a Narcissist. Even if he’s not a psychopath in full.)
Uraraka is truly the 1st person to believe in Izuku. No two ways about it.

Bakugo is still the best Rival of Deku, in order to push Deku. Because he is very much like that. And my Quirk Pillar Theory somehow makes me feel it is connected.
Bakugo Being the Symbol of Victory, while Deku being Symbol of Peace, is full circle in my Quirk Pillar Theory, as well as Uraraka being the Symbol of Hope, just like Nana Shimura...

Deku and Bakugo may be brothers in a manner of speaking, but they have SO much unresolved emotions to work through. Deku’s deep down anger at Bakugo, and Bakugo’s slow build to genuine acceptance of Izuku Midoriya. It’ll likely be when they regroup that Bakugo and Izuku will start their resolutions.

On a side note, Uraraka was also one of the first people to treat Bakugo like an equal by giving it her all and on her own. Even when she could barely move, she still struggled to fight him until the very end of their match.
Bakugo went from saying "Who's Uraraka?" To actually remember her name, and calling her that for the rest of the series. Because she took him seriously.
I kinda wish that those two developed some sort of friendship/mutual respect alliance through the series, instead of just the tournament arc.
riakun Their mutual respect doesn't only interacts Bakugo's knowledgement about Uraraka.
It also affects Midorya, remember when the dou themselves talked about Uraraka. They are both worried, Bakugo even said "We", which is very weird if you actually understand Bakugo as "I".
This also contradicts about Kirishima being his equal, and a friend, but the "We" is missing. He still doesn't accept Kirishima as much, because he is still feared remorse.
Unlike Uraraka being respected by Bakugo, the image of Midorya is there, because Midorya is Uraraka's friend. He knows that he might've help her, stating that it's reckless to do such strategy.
Remember, true colors of every people will appear when facing danger. Why does that it connects Bakugo and Uraraka?
It is because of the strategy that Uraraka done, that might've killed both of them. Reckless sure, but it brings the true nature of Bakugo when he was fighting her, but shifts when she overexceeded.
That true colors motivates Bakugo to fight his classmates, just like what Uraraka did to him...
When he fought Todoroki, he refers Uraraka as someone who stands in order to win the fight, unlike Todoroki who is fixated by his right side (fire), this is shown when he fought with Tokoyami and Kirishima, he just doesn't care, even when Kirishima is his closest friend, or an equal, but with Uraraka, he was actually like her guts rather than others, who is really surrounded by airheads.
That, by any means, why I see this three heroes as the pillars of the entire hero society, a true heroes tbh, because of their counteractions are full circle, and looping when you notice One For All as such...
This is not about a ship, but about the respect and the ideals of the heroism the character is...
Which is why my Quirk Pillar Theory revolves around mutual respect, and alliance.
I was wondering, why does Izuku Midorya is present in Himiko Toga in the Final Arc?
Midorya and Uraraka have many parallel as well, and Uraraka also met Shigiraki than everyone else, except Bakugo. She really remembers that face, and she even was afraid of it...
Does it mean, Uraraka is also needed in Izuku's battle with Shigiraki just like Izuku is needed in Uraraka's battle with Toga?
Come to think of it, The place UA was stated, is floating...
And that place could kill everyone underneath it, if it falls just like Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Plus the art Horikoshi shows us, about Uraraka and Midorya being together while flying, is very odd considering UA is ALSO flying.
Not to mention, many parallels of Uraraka and Midorya, is pointing them both being the one saving everyone, even Shigiraki as well...
Just like if Toga would go full SadMan's Parade, it is also referenced Shigiraki's hand serpentine, maybe? Instead of hands, Toga being Gin, will very much an amalgamation of heads, hands, and feet.
And when in water, that amalgamation is like a Kraken in the Sea...
While AFO and AFS, is the Kraken in the Air!!
And noticed Tsu being on the sea, is very much alike, as Bakugo being in the air just like a fighting jet, and a sea fearer while both Uraraka and Midorya as their chiefs.

The music just HITS during the last few minutes of this. The I WILL CLEAR A PATH, and then the next panel and then the high crescendo in the background. Ugh. Poetic cinema.
It’s funny to consider how someone as over the top as Bakugo can be at times can be such a fascinating and engaging character to watch. Yeah, he does tend to scream as much as he makes explosions, and yet there’s no denying his overall character finds that balance where he can be engaging rather than annoying (or at least have him dial back his Rage when it might be a bit much).
A lot of people always have fun trying to decipher who the “Goku” is, but we clearly have our Vegeta (so much so that I recall how the last jump crossover game brought special attention to it to the delight of everyone). A rival character who overtime you can’t help but root for as he shows what lengths he will go to in order to become a true hero.
Although he’s been a little brut and rough around the edges, he’s definitely been one of my favorite characters from the get go. Like the Vegeta of MHA. Hopefully he gets a better payoff in the end.

Bakugo…the Saddest Character?!…..Sadder than Midoriya, who all his Life He wanted to be a Hero, but couldn’t because He was Quirkless, and gets Bullied and told to Kill Himself by His Best Friend for like 10 Years because of it?! Sadder than Eri, Who had been Horribly Tortured by Overf%ck and had Never once Smiled in Her Life?! Sadder than the Tragedies of the TODOROKI FAMILY?!?!?!
99% of MHA chapters are just about Deku learning OFA. That's not sad whatsoever.
The thing is , Bakugou is not sad due to his backstory unlike other characters. The sad part is how thr narrative treats him.

Betraying his best friend, telling him to off himself(he never even apologized for it), tormenting him to 10+ years and apologizing, once?
Like him or hate him, his development has been great, way more than Deku and that’s kind of sad tbh. But man, this fight has broken him to an extend even though he’s still toughing it out. Don’t really care that much about this arc, but I Wonder what’s gonna happen when Shiggy truly goes 100%. Is Bakugo gonna make a giant sacrificial move?
Or perhaps should All Might make the sacrifice he and Ochako succeed in taming Izukus rage. Then Shigaraki and Izuku fight but Izuku just barely misses out on defeating Shigaraki as the latter retreats. Bakugo likely learns that he is the descendant of the 2nd user and decides to follow in his footsteps and be a support to Izuku always helping him get back up and inspiring others to move forward. If there's a part 2 of Izukus story which is possible he'll likely have a major role in that story.

Honestly it’s kinda good to see Bakugo taken down a peg, he’s so cocky and prideful that I nice for him to finally be overwhelmed again.
bakkugo is one of my favorite caracter in this series, its not only show his growth as a person, but a madurity that come with time and the circuntanse he have phase, he havent let his ego stop his growth but push it to get better, and also show the important of having good influences in your life(DEKU), because bakkugo border into been a villian or a heroe, if he had bad influence he could be a villian easily, but he got a good influence(deku) in his life, even when most of the time he dont like it but that influence keep him in the right path to become a heroe and push him to be better.
After Bakugo took that beating from the last two chapters I think I can forgive him for the time he was an ass

The concept of the shy introvert and the kind, motivating childhood friend/rival that Deku and Bakugo were supposed to be never got scrapped, it just became Mirio and Amajiki

Bakugo may be a hot-headed, mentally explosive jerk but I still respect him (kinda) His goal is the same as Deku's: Be the No.1 Hero. His character development does t really kick in until S5-Manga were he learns teamwork. Ive never met anyone like the man

A pretty good character analysis. Obviously a much longer video would be needed to go through all of his development, but I think overall this is pretty accurate! He’s a great rival/foil, but also a multi-layered character in and of himself! Personally, I think sacrificing himself to achieve the ultimate victory would be poetic, satisfying and give the story real consequences, but honestly, I’m fine with however his story ends, seeing as he’s already completed his arc.

I guess that if Deku snapped and become a member of the League of Villains because of Bakugo's bullying, MHA will go from shonen to seinen right away, right? After all, villains did plenty of nasty things in order to achieve their goals.

Twice,Shigaraki,and Toga have a sadder backstory than Bakugo. The only sad backstory for him is how sad it is how he treats his friends.

Honestly bakugo is like deku they each parallel a top hero deku is like all might but with a real support system and bakugo is like a more brash but incredibly adept hero like endeavor with a similar quirk with bakugo growing up faster than endeavor and honestly other than deku I don't think any of them have proven themselves as much as him he has become more of a team leader than Ida and both are basically #1 and #2 of the current generation toderoki being #3 most likely

I thought Bakugou was the MEANEST student in all of U.A.--let alone being a frenemy to Deku(Izuku). He would've been to become a hero, using his Quirk(Explosion), and wants to be victorious. Despite this, Bakugou made the ultimate sacrifice as he tries to become a full-fledged hero!! I wish I would relive the moments from MHA all over again!!

I don’t like bakugo. An unpleasant personality is an understatement. He’s an ass. And for me who was bullied as a kid and can relate a lot to Deku, of course I don’t like him. And I also base it on if I were to actually hang out with characters. And what that would be like.
But I will say after watching his video, it has given me something’s to think about.
Not that I am going to like him at all. But I’m a Fanfic writer. And I have 3 fanfics that are MHA based, and two of them are my most popular. And thinking about how he has those Insecurities, I will try to incorporate them into how he acts in my story’s and how what I do can fuel them.
Both of my two of the story’s are X reader and one of them has named characters. And in one of them the reader is child hood friends with Deku. A brother by bond not blood deal. And in that book Izuku, and the reader we’re friends with bakugo before he got his quirk. But after They didn’t really try to keep being friends with him. And after they both got there quirks, each being a legacy being passed on, started to show bakugo that there not powerless anymore. And so now really knowing what was happening with bakugo, I can use that to feed into more of bakugos complexes and how he acts. I want my content to have high quality and even if I don’t like bakugo, I want my story’s to be as high quality as they can be. While me fully knowing I’m not horikoshi, or Micheal Chritchon.
So, thank you to plot armor for inspiring me more to make my fanfics better.
What if the movie with Nine was foreshadowing. It is called One for All. So maybe in the end they both will somehow be able to possess OfA? They both embody different aspects of the quirk.
Following on the theory that Deku is the son of AfO, that might give him another variation quirk giving/taking powers like the 2 original brothers did. What if he can “lend” a quirk for an indefinite amount of time without losing his quirk in the first place. So therefore he can give Bakugo OfA and still have it himself. The only difference might be that Bakugo might not have access to the vestiges and their quirks but that would be offset by his own already insanely powerful quirk!
And this also feeds into the mysterious vestige that kind of resembles Bakugo but no one knows because that vestige seems an adult while Bakugo is a teenager still.
I think Bakugo dying would be perfect. These characters don't usually die so it would be a nice change of pace.

Bakugo is like Vegeta in many ways there goal is to be better than Deku/Goku, both wanna surpass them but there is always that one gap in between bakugo/Vegeta and Deku/Goku i believe in the mha manga Bakugo will acknowledge deku as not just greater than him but as number 1 just like Vegeta did to Goku at the end of the majin buu saga saying he is Number 1.

Not gonna lie though Bakugou did more damage than anyone in that fight could do to Shigaraki.
Honestly theorizing the end of Bakugo’s arc is tricky.
First issue: I have not seen Season 5 of the anime nor read the most recent chapters
Second issue: I don’t know much Bakugo besides Season 1-4 of the anime and this channel
Third issue: I do not know how the creator feels about Bakugo
My thoughts: I do not think there is going to be an end to Bakugo’s arc. Considering how Bakugo and Midoriya personalities are co-dependent on each other, I think the end would be Bakugo and Midoriya working together to fight (I do not know how to spell this name so I am going to call him AFO and and the spirit within). Both of them will stabilize the villain but Midoriya will come in to save the spirit within considering how Midoriya believes in Saving those who are suffering within, plus he had a prior interaction with the guy in Season 2.
He saves the guy from the grasps of AFO and thats where Midoriya and Bakugo plus All might or the OFA spirits come together to finish AFO for good. Midoriya gives hope to the guy that was previously held captive in AFO grisps and is sent away to serve time for casualties he had caused.
Conclusion: Now my theory might be not be very accurate considering the lack of information I had but I think I might have touched up on some points that might make their way in the final chapters of the manga. Who knows, Bakugo might end up sacrificing something if the creator deemed it was necessary.
If I am completely wrong then I know in another universe my thoughts are 100% correct! 😂

I’m tempted to say that another hero will come in and save Bakugo. Ultimately at the cost of their life, because they have seen the growth and want to ensure his future. It could be Best Jeanist. Still I feel he will not meet as demise on this battlefield.

Bakugo is like vegeta but he will be like Endeavor but he not gonna have Endeavor mentality.thats if they keep the rankings. Many people still hate Kacchan for being the way he is with his attitude and anger all the time especially towards Izuku throughout the series being a bully just like in the beginning but if course as the series went on including when he finally Apologized to Izuku, I started to like him (a little) but More importantly some people with the recent chapters due to his injuries, they think that they're seeing death red flags on him Since remember we're still in the final arc, The Endgame So anything can happen to the characters So I hope he makes it.
It was just too little too late tbh. He should have acknowledged his bullying a long time ago, had they did it sooner I would have actually liked him more.

@BlueGoldGacha because the author kept trying to "tell" us they were "friends" while showing us blatant bullying (that nobody bothered to intervene with btw teachers and fellow classmates just let it happen). It was a weird move and I will never like his character because of it. As the person above me states. Deku felt like an abuse victim desperately trying to reconcile with his abuser.
@@toadlord8594 so true. It happened that way because the author was confused about how to go about the friend/rival trope. In short the author fucked up. As cliche as it may be, the best thing Bakugo can do to actually be redeemable is to die or at the very least come close to death trying to sacrifice himself for Deku with a deep apology from his heart. Then at the very least he will be "ok" at best in my eyes. Weve spent too much time seeing his abuse for me to pretend most of the story he hasn't been a complete ass.

I'm hearing contradictions in this video that doesn't make sense to me. Either Bakugo is his own character or he and his actions, as a rival, adversary and character growth, are defined by Deku. You can't have it both ways.
Yes a character can become great through the influence of another but at some point the first character has to start making his own decisions and start to follow their own path, thus becoming their own character by moving beyond what started them down their path to begin with. However Bakugo clearly has not. Every step he has made forward since before this series had even begun has been dictated by Midoria, from Bakugo's inferiority complex from childhood all the way to his apology to Deku for his sins against him. Bakugo has NEVER done anything to show growth beyond his interactions with Midoria and to me shows just how much he clings to Deku, shadows Deku, and reveales how much his attitude has been trained by their interactions both for good and bad. If Bakugo showed himself being more mature and understanding to others WITHOUT Midoria present then I would say he his beginning to mature but I only see the same loud mouthed bully with a pension for shouting for people to die whenever he's fighting. Makes me want to shout out, "Grow up! There's nothing edgy about shouting DIE all the time unless the other person actually dies."
To me what Bakugo needed most was someone to argue with him philosophically and I don't mean Deku, I mean someone to challenge his way of thinking and to call him out on his bullshit and hypocrisy; and NO that has NEVER happened in the series EVER. Every time it seems like people were about to put Bakugo in his place they just say, "Well, there's no changing him so let just make the most out of it..."
He NEEDS someone to stand in his way as an obstacle so that he may see his own flaws in the mirror and overcome them to become a better person as a result. But instead they regulated that role to his "rival" in Deku and that is just both lazy and redundant in my mind because Deku never "challenged" Bakugo in that sense, Hell when they actually fought Bakugo kicked his ass and just made him feel sorry for himself, all Midoria ever did was soldier through Bakugo's abuse while trying to be nice to him... like an abuse victim trying to reconcile with their abuser and the abuser isn't having any of it. While on paper might seem like a deep character moment for a casual viewer but if you actually saw a person going through something like that in real life you might have a VERY different opinion about what was going on.
In summation the way I see it Bakugo his Midoria's shadow through and through, everything Bakugo has done, both good and evil, was done through Deku's influence and thus Bakugo isn't his own character. He is defined by his "rivalry" with Midoria and his drive to reach the top is fueled by his need to dominate Deku, Hell in acknowledging Midoria as his rival is further fuel on the proverbial fire as it were.
Without Deku there to keep pushing him forward, what IS Bakugo? WHO is Bakugo? And WHY is Bakugo?
The answer? He's a hero without a story of his own...
Christ man you wrote a whole ass essay, he's got two driving forces, that's not out of the ordinary, his growth is sent by his drive to be the best AND to stay ahead of Deku, YES it can be both ways
I mean his character development isn't focus on Deku. Bakugo was a character who thought he could do everything on his own because of his quirk explosive power, They say your quirk represent your character is a person which I like to think Bakugo is someone who wants to be seen as the main event since most people would look and record explosions if they saw one near by.
Bakugo now respects his classmates and actually rely on them when it comes to battles instead of rushing head on or making it about Deku like you said. He now knows his strength and weaknesses
@@bootychief3484 He gained those character developments through his relationship with Deku, especially after their fight which made him feel sorry for himself. Would he have made these strides without Midoria? Would he have become a different person without his crutch moving him in another direction? Would he make the same decisions if Deku wasn't around?
Sorry but the human race isn't omnipotent, it is a creature that always takes the path of least resistance and bullying others to satiate one's own sensitive ego and divert blame is a lot easier than realizing your mistakes and working to better ones self over it. Bakugo had this mindset since he was a child and that kind of habit is not one easily broken without a major reality check.
Bakugo maybe an interesting character in the land of fiction but if you actually met this person in real life would you be willing to even give this person the time of day let alone work as a police officer or national guardsman protecting you and your family knowing he only looks down upon you?

Deku simply exist to make Bakugou feel insecure and can be replaced by anyone with a quirk as strong as OFA and a good heart. A 4 year old Bakugou would bully that person because he is insecure and was overpraised and a teenager Bakugou would still try to change himself after having to face his own weakness (and specially after Kamino) non of these scenarios need Deku specifically. Deku hasn't done anything to make Bakugou change , Bakugou did it himself and Deku is there because he is the main character.(therefore Horikoshi inserts him in everyone's stories)
The idea of Bakugou being in Deku's shadow is 100% on purpose by Horikoshi because he wants the audience to feel that way about him but I personally believe that SFO literally challenged Bakugou right in the previous chapter by crushing him physically and bullied him mentally.
Horikoshi could make Bakugou fight other "minor" villains but decided not to which I believe to be on purpose since Bakugou's goal has always been about becoming number 1 hero from the start.
We'll have to wait and see what Hori's actual plan is before we reach a full conclusion but so far I'm not disappointed.
