That was a HUGE ground breaking bike back in 1970. Watching news reels when the bike was released, the Japanese general public went nuts !

If there was one motorcycle in the world I could choose, the Honda CB750 would be the one, not because of it's value but because of what it is.
Perfect. She's a beauty, I'd love to ride one of these along the coastline of Cornwall. My favourite colour of the 70's bikes too is Maui Blue.
It's made my day seeing this Ken even if I'm only dreaming. 👍

My dad worked at a Honda store in Norman Oklahoma in 1969 when I was ten. He would bring new motorcycles home to test drive. We drove one of these to Dallas and back. I'll never forget that weekend.

I had a chance to buy a new one in 1990 for about 4K from a Honda dealership that was closing from the owner's private collection, it was a red sand cast.
I had other priorities at the time, instead, I Bought a CBX.

Hard to find bikes like this and they are very collectible. The start of the superbike/supersport. Probably will never see another like this for sale again and should be at the museum. Original stickers, paint, everything etc. +Cleaned and polished.
-People don't sell these anymore. Value keeps going up.

My buddy had a K.O he bought from a friend's old man, along with a Honda Hondamatic, a G5 and a YZ100 with the mono shock. He sold the K.O to a collector from California, who sent a guy to pick up and transport it. The bikes inside the trailer where worth more, at the time his K.O was worth something like 20 - 25k if it was in perfect shape and I don't remember what he sold it for.
This was roughly 10 years ago

I am so so psyched I got to see this before it left. I saw it in there and immediately Bolted to it. Anyone reading this, the bike is incredible. As noted the cylinder fin had seen some damage, but whatever they ask for this - know it is worth every penny.

I know that this video is a couple of years old but I came across one of these just the other day. Helped my neighbor go pick up a truck he bought and the man had a gold 1969 cb750 that his son bought in 1968, so he says, he is 92 years old and his son is 71.
It needs a complete restoration but it was 100 % there. 26,000 miles on the odometer. I had $5000 in my pocket but you could tell it was not for sale. I am not even a motorcycle guy, cars is my thing, but i would have bought it. Got a couple of pics. Last time registered 1978.

I worked at a Honda shop back then. $1,495.00 out the door. Something lost to history is the fact that the early Honda Fours were much faster and quicker in 1969 and 1970, the CB 750 K0s. If you had the cojones to ride one, high 12 second ETs in the 1/4 mile were there for the taking. The 1971 CB 750K1s were close, but after that, the K2 and later models were lacking the sheer power the earlier bikes had. Because the early bikes had many issues of chain breakage, which sent the chain thru the crankcase, destroying the cases and sometimes some engine components, we speculated Honda detuned the engines by 5-10hp, reducing the carnage. The K0 and K1 models forced drive chain manufacturers to improve chain strength and life. That's how far the bikes were ahead of their time. When the detuning happened, and with the introduction of the Kawasaki Z1 and H2, Honda lost a lot of sales to the demanding sport riders. To this day, in my mind, the K0 and K1 have one of the sweetest exhaust notes of any bike ever built. Take the baffles out, and there's nothing that sounds as unique.....

Nice bike but it has some wrong items to be a 1969 "Sandcast".
1.Wrong chain gard a long one . 1969 bikes had a short one.
    2. wrong front fender, with a plasic holder for the mph drive cable and rounded front.
1969 bikes had no plastic mph drive cable holder and the fender was cut sharp up front.
    3. Seat is not the correct one. 1969 had a duck bill rear part much more pronounced and not as "thick" as on this bike .
    4. The ignition contact should have a resessed surface with a key with a plastic piece that goes into the recessed part of the ignition contact.
    Othervise a nice bike. ;)

Is it true that the sand casted k0 model is 1969-70 and they were identified by the vents on the rear side fairings?

    • @vp1000mph
      @vp1000mph 2 ปีที่แล้ว

The K0 model has the square side covers with vents but only the first 7000 or so production machines had the Sandcast cases. Many production changes, internal and external, during the first year production run. The one in this video does not look like a sandcast and has many incorrect parts. Most visible is that later model ribbed air cleaner box painted to match the bike, the ignition switch, and as mentioned, the 341 exhaust pipes. If it were a sandcast I imagine they would had spent the extra money for the correct parts.
