The CB 750 Four is a legend. It all but killed off the British Motorcycle industry and its not hard to see why. It was reliable, comfortable, powerful, fast and it didn't leak oil all over the place like British bikes of the time. Plus it was drop dead gorgeous too. The CB 750 Four has to be one of the greatest Motorcycles of all time.

Love the shot of Musselman Honda, the first Honda dealership in the United States. They are still in business today and the place still looks the same from the outside as it did back in the day. I go there all the time and they are a great shop. The owner, Helen Musselman, died in 2020 at 103 years old. But before she died, she still worked at the shop!

I saw one the second day they went on sale in the UK I was riding pillion on an 850cc commando and I was blown away by the engine of H4, everything about it said, this is THE future, forget what you know and reprogramme your brain for the next 50 years,
we all went for a ride with about 20 bikes and when the H4 passed us the sound was beautiful, the best engine note for any Japanese bike to date, I knew I was seeing something very special for the first time,

ive got a 75 CB360T and i just LOVE it....
its looks, the feel of the clutch, 6 gears, light weight, ETC ETC ETC
    .
    my FAR my favorite of the 3 i own (a 74 kawi G5 100cc 2 smoker, and a 98 honda magna 750)
    .
its not as fast as the 750..... but it its so fun ripping 4 gears up to 70mph..... then dropping the revs down with that 5th and 6th OD

Actually there is. Soichiro Honda went into modifying bikes (pedal) for motor usage because of post-WW II American limitations on Japanese car industry. Ciao, L

Honda knew Kawasaki was developing an in line four 750 so in order to beat them to the punch they had to cut corners in the manufacturing process hence the sand-cast modules. These bikes are very fragile and few original bikes survive but the ones that do command an hefty price tag. The Triumph trident was stop gap bike originally designed in 63 by Doug Hele, both he and Bert Hopwood were frustrated by BSA not allowing their multi cylinder engine designs to get past the prototype stage. Heales logic was to build a bike out of existing parts, what problem could the BSA board have with that? But again the answer was no, right up until they knew that the Japanese were planning to build a big bike

On the subject of speed the BSA/Triumph is slightly faster in a straight line but is significantly quicker on the twisty bits due to its lighter weight and superior frame.
