Tried to make it as fair as possible, anyway hope you guys enjoyed and had a good time watching thank you all for your ongoing support, much love.
It's really interesting to see how trainer aircraft match up to the "real" fighters. But how about trainer vs trainer? A T-45 Goshawk(BAE Hawk) versus T-38 would be very interesting, the Navy trainer versus the Air Force trainer... but since there is no T-38 in DCS so far, you could substitute the F-5E Tiger II, making it more accurate by not allowing the Tiger to use the Afterburner. What do you think?
Exceptionally well narrated and explained GS! The extra effort you keep putting in to up the quality of your videos really shines through. Showing the maneuvers in 3rd person and in Tacview nicely covers everything, aids in understanding and is very much appreciated.
much love brother really appreciate the support. very very lucky to have guys like you here to support the channel its what drives me to make the videos better and better.
these types of match ups are pretty dang interesting... getting to see how that critical mistake can take the superior aircraft that should dominate the fight to losing in 60s is quite possibly one of the most fascinating aspects of aerial combat ...
Yeah, that audio is killer man. The high pitch pass byes like on 3:06 feel very 90s anime and love the bassy roar on the one circle turns feels suspenseful.
@@Tepnox i don't have dcs but i have heard that planes cost like 70 euro's but on the steam page there was a few just for world that were cheaper how does it work?
@@daanoffline5716 the ‘for dcs world’ aircraft are also on the website. They’re Flaming Cliffs 3 aircraft (FC3 for short) which is the continuation of on of their old games iirc. FC3 aircraft are low-fidelity and have simple flight models and non-clickable cockpits. Their gauges and HDD’s work to some extent but way less indepth than the normal full fidelity aircraft. They are good for beginners to see which playstyle they would like and to teach new players on the basics of radar operation, weapon operation, ect. They are also very easy to learn
Your videos are a really good for everyone interested in DCS. Always really good explanations and small little tidbits for new viewers and still fun and quality content for the subscribers! Longshot deserves a shout out too btw!
My guess a Australian hornet and a Australian hawk have had a training exercise together, I wonder while we still have the hornets if they’ve tried to fight the f35 or super hornet
Single engine. Intakes in front of the wings. Orange and white paint job. Single tail. One seater. Give it delta wings and some weapons and it pretty much is a skyhawk.
Great video. I am always so impressed by the quality of your content and how much I’ve learned by watching your annotated TacView analysis. I don’t think you were a pilot, were you? This makes your work even more impressive. Keep up the great work!
Nitpicking, I know, but TW-1 (NAS Meridian, MS) jets have a side number beginning with 1 (as in Training Wing 1), not 5. TW-1 consists of two T-45C squadrons: VT-7 'Eagles' and VT-9 'Tigers'.
You should do a video where you put the T-45 up against all the top fighters(f15/f16/f18/f22/su30/su35/su57/ect). Then you can rank them all by how fast they get kills in both 1 & 2 circle fights. It’s probably the fastest way to make a quantifiable standard for each fighter since the dogfight would only last a few seconds. Each plane could get three attempts in 1 & 2 circle fights. Then rank the fighters by average times. It would probably take a while but would be interesting.
Here is kind of a new thing to try, will also show how different aircraft act at different altitudes. Try dogfighting at different hard decks. If you drop down below whatever you make the altitude for the hard deck, counts as a crash, and the other gets the victory. If would be interesting to have a 30k hard deck, but 10k is good. It give another thing to watch out for when dogfighting.
You know what else is refreshing? When some of these folks building the mods use ANY different music to their wallpaper themes, other than the DCS standard. Huey (though it's not a mod, great backing music!), the new A4, and now this T-45!
GS many fighter pilots when I asked about the new sound that we can hear in the cockpit in DCS, they said you can't hear anything from the cockpit. No sound at all
Does this mean that the BAE Hawk 200 could potentially become a mod in the future? That would be a great addition to the other light attackers / trainers.
@Growling Sidewinder Have you ever thought about doing like a Top Gun ish type school on your DCS server? Or do you? I love Combat Flight Sims and I have dabbled a little in DCS. Have not for a little while cause my HOTAS is currently broken and working on getting and upgrading to a new setup. But due the vast learning curve and the way you take the time to explain things in your videos I think holding actual classes and Training flights like the one here would be HUGE to people like myself who want to get into DCS and get the most out of it. For me, I learn best by doing but also having someone who can/will take the time to also walk me through scenarios is huge. I know you already have videos to help explain terms and such which I have found very helpful but to be able to jump in game to learn the mechanics and how to properly fly would be amazing. Just a thought. Out of all the content creators I have watched on DCS not many explain things like you do. Where you show what you and your opponent did and why as well as showing if there were other options available to you. Like I said just a thought. I know I would be one of the first in line for a sign up!! haha Keep up the awesome videos.
I flew with GS two times for his videos. He need 1-2 days for each video and we had always unlimited fuel. After a fight, he simply restarted the server and we started fully load mid air again.
Has the audio been improved as part of 2.7 or is it an update to the Hornet? It might just be me but it also looks like the movements of the deck crew is smoother.
what are the 2 cross hairs in the gun pipper of the Hornet? One appears to be the centerline of the plane with the wings sticking out from it, but the other one is below that cross hair.
This shows that combat capable variants of trainers can potentially put up a fight and present a legitimate threat, even though they will be far behind in capability overall.
Hey GS - would love to see a new Hornet BVR video. Seems like there have been some major changes (downgrades) to the A-A radar over the past few months and I really find myself struggling to compete, especially with other players online.
Wait. Is that fly by audio of the Hornet a new thing now? I've never heard that before in real time. Unless I'm missing something, I don't have too much time in DCS.
Thank you. Btw, long time viewer of your channel. I know it is simulation, but it provides great insight into air combat maneuvering... You're funny too.

Why is it we can hear other jets really well only when flying un-official mods like the MB-339 and T-45
lower engine sounds in the mods. which makes the other guys engines clear.
Maybe because they're trainers with quiet engines
