    What would u say about not getting any looks or not knowing if ur at the right travel team?

    • @RomanKimball
      @RomanKimball  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      your travel coach should be contacting coaches for you and playing tournaments where there will be college scouts

    so rn i’m in 13u on a good team with tons of talent but they don’t really work on developing players they just use the talent they already have and we win games. i play most of the time but was thinking of maybe for 14u trying to get on a team that was also good but focused on making guys better and developing their players instead of just winning. im wondering what your thoughts on that is.

    • @RomanKimball
      @RomanKimball  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      that sounds like a great idea dude, coaches are supposed to be helpful, for the next few years that is a good idea but once you get to like 16-17u i recommend playing on a good team where you will play bc at that point u shouldnt need that much development during the season. That season is what you use to get recruited

      I would try to find a coach who wants to win but also cares about his players, my coach cares about me getting better and does extra work with me and teammates all the time

    Was it more difficult to get prepared for the season up North with the weather and climate than it is in the South where the temp is more conducive to playing ball. Also attend as many camps at schools as you can. Gives coaches a chance to see you in person.

    • @RomanKimball
      @RomanKimball  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      definitely more difficult up north, and camps arena really a huge factor, if its a prospect camp and the coaches invited you directly (through text or call) then you should go.

      @@RomanKimball I cover college baseball here in the South. I have been impressed with Northern teams who come down and play in the early season. The biggest difference I have seen so far is in depth. Especially at pitching, where the difficulty in prep may hinder development more for a pitcher than a hitter. I would value your opinion on this. Thanks for answering.1

      @RomanKimball  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fateagle4life no problem bro, i feel that northern arms are fresh tho, could be why the pitching is good, northern arms are very very good, they have some extra time off which def helps

    • @fateagle4life
      @fateagle4life 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RomanKimball very true about being fresher. I thought that this season showed how much not being able to practice with the bats gave the pitchers the edge. Then as the season progressed bats started to come alive. Although your point about arms being fresher may also be a reason the bats were so silent early this past season.

      @@RomanKimball I am interested to see if coaches learned from this past season and will tell some pitchers to stay away from summer ball and just rest till fall ball starts up.

    Should I try to find a showcase team or stick with my schools summer ball team? What is your opinion on recruiting apps? Is it worth singing up. I am 15 years old and a utility player. 3B/1B/OF/RHP/C.

    Tip number 1: throw gas

    • @RomanKimball
      @RomanKimball  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      haha not true, a lot of schools don’t just look for people who throw hard. I committed to ND when I was only throwing 82-84 T85, I had rlly good command and didn’t walk guys and they projected me to get bigger and throw harder so they gave me an offer. It’s not all about throwing gas, they look for everything!
