      @jaylynncason5267 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      I know!! The carelessness of those drivers putting themselves and the life's of other people on the line is just sheer stupidity!! Especially when they do it to fully loaded semi trucks!! I was hit by a semi truck all but head on and I can say if I wasn't so small (unusually small for an adult) and driving a pick up truck, that wreck would have done way more damages than it had done and probably would've killed a full grown man had a bigger full sized man/woman been in my position.. I did walk away with a mangled & broken arm that took a year & a half to fully heal, broken hip & ankle, 5 fractured ribs, and fractured breast plate, and 3 separate serious flesh wounds, 1 on my hand from the air bag that had to be stitched up, and one on each leg from my legs being pinned (which I had snatched lose from panicking thinking my truck would explode with me inside-it never did explode).
      The drivers that do cut off semi trucks and break check semis -i wish the driver alone could experience exactly what I experienced (and of course survive as did I) just so they realize you don't F**k with the big guys!! They absolutely CAN NOT stop on a dime like everyone else in four wheelers!!
      I hope I can pass my experience along to help other drivers be more cautiously aware and alert that semi trucks just aren't the ones they really need to go up against, especially when there's more than just their own safety involved!! They may "think" it's just their safety that it entails but it's definitely not when your on the interstate or busy highway given if that trucker hits them, then what about other vehicles on the road nearest them?? What about other drivers safety?? The kids that could be involved? Your own kids that could be involved?? It's not worth the risk!!

    I'm a 63 y/o mom, wife, and grandma.
    Got my drivers license when I was 16 - 47 years ago.
    My father taught me, "If you take care of the truckers, they'll take care of you."
    Taught this to my son as well.
    There's still some old timers out there that understand this "law" of the road.
    It has served me well.
    So I cannot fathom, how drivers in this day and age, are so self absorbed, entitled, that there is no longer any respect on the road.
    First off, they are driving in little, bitty cars compared to semi's. Do these people actually believe they will win if they challenge a semi?
    And what the hell has happened with common courtesy?

      I just drive a regular pickup truck,but when someone tries to merge in from a "no lane" I slow down and let them. Doesn't matter if they are intentionally trying to push ahead, or just didn't realize what the road was doing, I am not going to put myself in danger just to gain a half second of road time. Why did I see so many big rigs refusing this one common courtesy? You guys can drive better than that! I don't normally blow my horn when someone does something stupid in front of me either. If I can stop safely or get out of the way, I do so and continue on down the road. There are too many a$$ 0s and idiots on the road, no sense in antagonizing them.

The cop admitted that he cut the truck off by saying "I gave you a car length". A truck takes at least 4 times the distance to stop as a car. If an emergency situation popped up and that cop had to stop, that truck would have demolished that cop's SUV. When taken to court, it would have been found to be the cop's fault. Just the comment I was looking for. Cammer should have backed off and gone around the other truck on the left like the law says. He says the other truck tried to drive him off the road on purpose, but he was literally BEHIND that truck when it started coming over. It absolutely was not trying to run him off the road, it was simply trying to get into the slow lane where it belonged. Speeding up to block a lane-change is in fact illegal, as is passing on the right, which makes the cammer the one in the wrong here. And he no doubt posted it to prove to everyone how right he was, because he actually seems to think he was. Oops.

This is their livelihood and deliver things that we all need..so let’s be nice and give them the respect.. now if a truckers is doing wrong….call the police….take action to get away from them…..it’s not worth your life.

  • @gregdcross

    The cop admitted he changed lanes aggressively by saying he was a car length in front of the truck when he changed lanes. Then the video showed he slowed to a crawl without engaging his emergency equipment (strobe lights) which is also a moving violation. it would have been amusing if his supervisor saw his driving behavior. And his argument that trucks are plowing into cars causing all the cars vs trucks is devoid of reality. Semi trucks don't have the acceleration cars do. A truck canlt suddenly accelerate a d ram cars. The cars typically do exactly what the officer did- changed lanes a d reduce the safe following distance and the car has to suddenly stop. I've seen it o er a d over during my 30 years of driving a Class 8.

    14:38, the simplest way to avoid reckless drivers armed with weapons, like the individual in question, is to remain calm, akin to the demeanor of a truck driver. Maintain a composed silence, remember the other party's license plate, and capture evidence with a dashcam. Subsequently, report the incident to the police. Holding individuals accountable for their foolish actions is crucial, ensuring that they face the consequences of their reckless behavior.

    Is blowing your horn or flashing your headlights really that offensive in the US? In the UK it is common practice to let someone know that they have done something dumb. It is to be expected here.

    • @cottonaj
      @cottonaj 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes, unless you’re in a larger city where the horn is used more often than the gas or brake pedals are. For the rest of us, honking the horn not only criticizes a person’s driving skills, it also draws the attention of everyone in hearing range to that mistake.

    I really hope RA in Providence RI turned that footage over the to police department and pushed to have that cop reprimanded for his behavior. I'm all for supporting police officers, and feel (in most cases) they are generally right... but just like with ANY group of people, you have those few as$hats that tarnish the group and this cop IS one of them. I feel the whole thing would have went very different if that dash cam wouldn't have been there. He is definitely one of them that will push his position too far, by the "You seen me coming!" mentality. Thinking a badge gives him special treatment and favor to break the law when it's convenient for him. If you relisten... you can hear the (very slight) shift in his tone and escalation when HE sees the cam before the cammer ever mentions it.
