I remember being disappointed, but the quest mode and the FF7 characters that you could play as in the normal mode were the whole reason to get ehrgeiz. So I was ultimately happy, and it left an impression
For Being some afterthought randomly thrown in RPG this game was actually exceedingly fun to play. I wish they would remake a sequel or just remake the RPG aspect. It was out and popular at the same time as diablo , but it was just different enough that I liked playing both games
Wow. I played this when I rented it from Blockbuster around 1999 and I got my ass kicked in quest mode repeatedly. I always remembered this game....Its like an early version of Dark Souls in a sense....I feel like you took revenge for me by doing this as well as you have! You not only made it look easy but like a better game than it probably is!

This mode was pretty damn fun. Flawed but fun. Crimson Tears is developed by Dream Factory as well but somehow it doesnt quite measure up to this mode. Which is funny because The Forsaken Dungeon comes off as a kind of half completed minigame at times.
This game is pretty hard for me to beat as a kid but I had a good time playing this and will always remember this game. At one time I accidentally fell into the well in the early game and got annihilated by the Kraken, good times.
Call me crazy, but I can't see why Koji couldn't have 1. have plucked a feather, 2. run out of the room, 3. revived Clair, 4. run back in, 5. leave the poor phoenix alive and keep the link to immortality around.
the TAS for this game is so hilarious, let’s RNG manip skip every floor directly to the final boss. actually doing this shit RTA seems like suicide given how hard this game was for me back in the day.

It is to reset enemy positions, so he can dispatch enemies safely and to avoid traps (as seen in 21:30) that locks him and respawns enemies in that room. Even when assuming he can survive the traps, it will be quite a time waste for the run. I've played this game enough times to know how badly things could happen when the trap activated.
Someone could tell me if there is a game where the first boss is a dragon and around it there is gold. And you can equipment some things, its similar to this but all the game is in one direction And is for psone
this is the kind of game thst i need. it looks so bad, the controls are so stupid, the gameplay is boring and repetetive and compelling storyline. Easily a 1000hr game for me

It may as well be. The map is randomized each playthrough, but the core rooms (altar, boss room, etc.) remain the same.

@@davidblau1062 iirc certain monsters do drop drinks, but I personally forgot which monster. Its drop rate is miniscule at best, though.
