I have not been to that. An area called Vesteralen "kingdom of the whales" is one of the best places in Norway to see lots of Whales 🤙

Hi Dawas94, the rods are Westin W^ Jigging rods. Great action with soft tip section but strong enough to set the hooks

What rods and reels?
All rods used in the video are Westin boat rods, and all paired with an assortment of Shimano reels.
All this tackle is available to be hired from the Lofoten Islands. 🎣
This was great to watch. All those big halibut and they didnt kill any of those big spawning females. Very different where I live, they catch and kill all the big females for the glory of having a big fish. There is no glory in killing off the species. Great video.
jwfishak Thats such a shame as we like to make sure all the big fish are returned. We only allow customers to take the same ones for the table. Rgds Peter
Sportquest Holidays how deep was the water you're fishing there? I've been wanting to do a trip to somewhere in northern europe or one of the islands to fly fish for atlantic salmon but now I want to go try for large halibut there on my fly rod.
jwfishak the water is around 25mtrs and the fight you get from them in such shallow water is awesome. Fly fishing for them would be a dream and something the guides over there are trying to achieve. If you fancy a trip over there check out our website as we have many Hosted trips targeting Halibut.

Sportquest Holidays Oh btw, we are going this year to Bolga fishing at the end of may and begin of june. Last year we were here too. only we had one week of storm. so bad luck. previous year was very good. we catched 13 halibuts then.
